このフィルモアでのコンサートは1970年10月23日と24日に、それぞれアーリー・ショウとレイト・ショウの2回、合計4回のステージが行なわれました。この4回のステージの内、23日のアーリー・ショウとレイト・ショウ、24日のレイト・ショウを、サウンドボード音源オーディエンス音源を問わず、 現存するもの全てを完全に収録するというコンセプトの元、その全てを10枚に収録した、まさにコンプリート・フィルモア・テープスとも言うべき、ドミノス・ファンにとって欠かすことの出来ない作品となっています。それでは、ディスクごとに内容を紹介しましょう。

ディスク１は、23日アーリー・ショウのサウンドボード音源が収録されています。全4曲の収録で完全収録ではないのが残念ですが、この公演の「Little Wing」は、この音源でのみ聴ける貴重なものです。フィルモア初日の最初のショウということですが、緊張が感じられるものではなく、大規模なツアーをこなしてきた余裕が垣間見れる演奏です。

ディスク２は、23日のアーリー・ショウのオーディエンス録音が収録されています。当時の録音としては高音質の部類に入るオーディエンス・ソースで、今まで聴くことのできなかった「Blues Power」「Have You Ever Loved A Woman」「Tell The Truth」の三曲がこの音源にて初登場したことは、 数少ないドミノス音源を収集するファンにとって嬉しい収録。

ディスク３＆４は、23日レイト・ショウをサウンドボード録音にて収録しています。このサウンドボード・テープは、おそらく出回ったテープのジェネレーションの違いから、「Let It Rain」が含まれているものと欠落しているものの二種類が存在しているようです。 既発のタイトルでもきちんとこの時の演奏を収録しているものと、欠落した「Let It Rain」を24日の演奏で使いまわしをしている不完全なものの2種類がリリースされていました。 もちろん本作はきちんと当日の演奏で聴くことができる完全盤です。この公演はもともとサウンドボード音源として素晴らしい音質でしたが、従来のものと比較しても本作が最高のものであると言えるでしょう。

ディスク５＆６は、その23日のレイト・ショウをオーディエンス録音にて収録しています。これは完全初登場音源で、普段聞き慣れた公演を臨場感あふれる高音質オーディエンス録音で、当日の客席で聴くことのできた音でリアルに再現してくれます。 司会者による冒頭のメンバー紹介など、サウンドボード音源では聴くことのできなかった部分を楽しむことができ、これでまた新たな発見があるかもしれません。そんな初登場音源です。音質もよく、サウンドボード音源がなくても充分に楽しめるクオリティです。

ディスク７＆８は、24日のレイト・ショウをサウンドボードで収録しています。注目すべきポイントは、今回入手したマスターでは「Bottle Of Red Wine」が未収録だった点です。 この音源自体が元々流出の過程で既に欠落していたようで、既発盤に収録のものはすべて前日23日レイト・ショウの「Bottle Of Red Wine」が使いまわしされていました。この事実によって海外の文献によっては “この公演では「Bottle Of Red Wine」が演奏されなかった” という記述が見受けられますが、ディスク10のオーディエンス・ソースでの同曲は前日のそれとは明らかに異なる別テイクなので、この日も演奏自体はされたようです。本作では、あくまで24日レイト・ショウの音源ということで、最初から欠落していた「Bottle Of Red Wine」は別日での補填は行なっていません。

ディスク９＆１０は、その翌24日のレイト・ショウをオーディエンス録音にて収録しています。このソースは、元々曲間が途切れている曲と繋がっている曲が混在し、元のテープを聴く限りでは正確な曲順が不明でした。しかし、お互いが繋がっている曲と、明らかに曲間にカットのある曲を、当時の残された記録と付き合わせて考察していくうちに、これはテープの流出の過程で意図的に曲順が変えられたのではないかという結論に至りました。そこで元ソースにあった曲間の切れていない複数の曲のかたまりどうしを、カットのある曲の前後で並べ替え、本作は、おそらくこれが正しいであろう本来あるべきセットリストに再構成しました。このソース自体が全曲収録ではないため、間に他の曲を演奏していた可能性はありますが、ここに収録されている曲に限って言えば、この曲順が正しいと思われます。既発盤では狂いが大きくかなり遅かったピッチも正常なものとなっています。

デレク・アンド・ザ・ドミノスのフィルモアでのライヴを、オフィシャル未収録曲も含め完全な形で再現する『Complete Fillmore Tapes』。 しかもオーディエンス音源とサウンドボード音源で存在が確認されているものを全て収録し、初登場23日レイト・ショウのオーディエンス・ソース、それに23日レイト・ショウの「Let It Rain」を含めまさにコンプリートの合計ＣＤ10枚組超大作となった本タイトル。3公演を6種類のソースにて収録。 これでドミノスのフィルモア音源はカンペキです。今回もジャケットには厚型コーティング高級光沢紙を使用。盤面は美しいピクチャー・ディスク仕様。厚型ジュエル・ケースが2セット、それがスリップ・ケースでひとつにまとまった仕様となります。 企画、マスター製作、デザインと、職人集団で構成されたプロジェクト・チームがまたもやECファンの宝物を丹念に作り上げました。ドミノス音源の決定盤として貴方のコレクションに揃えてください！
