これが当時の略歴。アルバムの発売後にニューヨークで何度かライヴを行ったDEMOLITION 23.は、いざヨーロッパへ……となったところで問題発生。アルバムでギターを弾いていたジェイ・へニングがアメリカから出国禁止になってしまった。世界規模の活動を考えていたマイケルはジェイを諦め、旧友ナスティに助っ人を頼んだのです。その後、DEMOLITION 23.は日本へ。続けざまに2度来日しており、8月にはプロモ、10月には仕切り直しの正式なジャパンツアーが行われました。本作の大阪ギグは、8月のプロモ来日で行われたもの。抽選で選ばれたファンだけが参加するスペシャル・ショウでした。
そんな本作のクオリティは、絶品の超極上サウンドボード。当時の関係者が録音していたマスターをダイレクトにCD化しており、無加工の流出モノだけにミックスも荒削りなら、歓声も微かでしかないのですが、その生々しさは異常な次元。ワイルド&ノンストップなパンクロックが耳にねじ込まれ、脳内にDEMOLITION 23.がズカズカと上がり込んでくる。問答無用にオフィシャル級クオリティでありながら、決して公式品ではあり得ないド級の超リアル・アルバムなのです。

そんなクオリティで描かれるのは、本編プレスCDにも匹敵する大熱演。ショウ全編収録ではないのですが、その代わりオフステージも散りばめられた構成がいかにもオフィシャル的。ニューヨークでのライヴシーンを使った「Hammersmith Palais」「Nothin’s Alright」のライヴクリップ、新バンドに賭ける意気込みを語るインタビュー、サウンドチェック、ロンドンやヘルシンキでの風景などなど。さらには渋谷HMVでのサイン会、新宿アルタや池袋HMVでのゲリラ・ライヴ……スタジオ作やライヴ盤だけでは忘れがちな“生きている(いた)バンド”の姿を感じることができるのです。
しかし、やはり要となるのは川崎のプロショットライヴでしょう。本編プレスCDに比べると5曲ほど短い(特にHANOI ROCKSの「High School」「Problem Child/It’s Too Late」がないのは残念!)ものの、そのハイパーなステージは圧倒的。もちろん、マイケルはいつだってハイパーですが、その両翼をサミ・ヤッファとナスティ・スーサイドが堅め、やけっぱち感満点のパンク・ロックが絶え間なく波状攻撃を繰り返す。そんな“HANOI番外編”を前に、もの凄い勢いで盛り上がる観客たち。事実としてはデビューしたばかりのバンドのシークレット・ギグなのですが、画面に映し出されるのは黄金期を迎えた大物バンドのような苛烈にして絶好調のライヴ風景なのです。
