The shocking live album “OSAKA 1985 2ND NIGHT: DEFINITIVE MASTER (Darker Than Blue 289/290)” released the other day. The new excavation master, which is the sister work, is making its debut! It is the birth of a miracle live album that lets you experience the “dream of 1985” in the field with even higher sound quality !!
The performance of “May 8, 1985: Osaka Castle Hall” is engraved in this work. It is the best audience recording. In 1985, a special monument tour in the history of purple visits to Japan with “five golden people”. As with last week, let’s check the position of the show while organizing the collection by schedule.

・ May 8: Osaka Castle Hall ← ★ This work ★
・ May 9 “OSAKA 1985 2ND NIGHT: DEFINITIVE MASTER”
・ May 11 “FAR FROM GOD (Nagoya)”
・ May 13 “PERFECT GUNNERS (Nippon Budokan)”
・ May 14 “THRILL OF THE CHASE”
・ May 15 “PERFECT MACHINE (Nippon Budokan)”
・ May 16 “THE MAGNIFICENT FIVE (Nippon Budokan)”

[Rich, dynamic, and direct new champion recording] Above, all 7 performances. Osaka was also the site of the collapse of Phase II, but it was also the first site of the Japan tour 12 years later. And this work was the first day of the best of all. There were many records on that day, and especially “FAR FROM GOD (DTB 115/116)” was a famous recording that reigned at the top. This work is a completely different recording from the “FAR FROM GOD”, and is the new champion who has updated the highest peak. Yes, it’s a sister version of the same venue / recorder collection as “2ND NIGHT (Darker Than Blue 289/290)” that shocked me last week!
And this work is also a shocking new master who updates the highest peak sound. The sound is similar to the sister work “2ND NIGHT”, and the density of the midrange is higher than that of the “FAR FROM GOD” master, which specializes in the extension of treble, and the deep bass is also clear. Even more intense is the sense of closeness. Although it sounds like an audience recording, I can’t feel the hall ringing even when listening with headphones, and the core with a bare feel is vivid. The outline is clear as if it were an outdoor recording with no echo. This generous density is the biggest point of this work. Even if the recordings so far are clear, there is a sense of space that makes the sound squishy, but the density of this work is just “close”. You can enjoy the notes spun by the “five golden people” with a sense of zero distance, as if you were listening to the PA perfectly (though if you do that, your ears will die in one shot). It is probably the position that creates such a feeling of close contact. The recording position of this work is “1st floor arena 2nd row”, and it is close to the stage which is almost the same as the sister work “2ND NIGHT” on the first day. It directly picks up the PA sound before it spreads in the space.

[Clear and tight sound that surpasses even the shocking sister works] It is a superb recording that is very similar to “2ND NIGHT”, but it can be said that this work transcends its sister work. This is due to the on-site PA, and the peak is output slightly over in “2ND NIGHT”. I was picking up the sound with a slightly distorted peak. On the other hand, the sound of the on-site PA is neat in this work on the first day. The beautifully separated ensemble without distortion is captured beautifully up to k. However, on the first day, there was a “gritty” noise on the first day (a feature of the first day in Osaka that exists in every recording). Therefore, it is no wonder that “2ND NIGHT” is better, but it is this work that feels “clearer and more glossy” in total.
Anyway, a shocking sound. It was a day with many famous recordings just because Japan was paying attention to Japan, but it is a new champion album that wipes them out. Even 36 years later, I was surprised to find a new excavation, but it was a superb sound that I had never heard before, and it was discovered for two days with sister recordings … Those who have loved “FAR FROM GOD” will be overwhelmed by the rich and dynamism sound, and those who were shocked by “2ND NIGHT” last week will doubt the clearness of this live album. How many treasures are sleeping in this master collection? A transcendental sister work that makes you terrifying just by imagining that possibility. Please enjoy it with the permanent preservation press title.

★ The best audience recording of the “May 8, 1985: Osaka Castle Hall” performance. The sound is shocking with the first appearance recording that jumped out of the master collection that has been firing hot topics. Anyway, it’s rich and thick, yet glossy. The core recorded in “1st floor arena 2nd row” is fiercely on and powerful, and anyway, the performance without a sense of distance is beautifully separated and approaches in front of you. The density of the midrange that doesn’t feel squishy, the resolution of the deep bass that is clear even to the attack sound of the bass that is brittle, the glossy sound that can not be seen with aging deterioration … A marvelous new excavation master that dismisses all existing groups Then, you can enjoy the enthusiasm of the “Golden Five” who have returned to Osaka, the land of the end of Phase II.

★ The sound quality is the best on the 1985 tour. Moreover, it is a complete first appearance. Just one of the miracles.

そう、先週衝撃を振りまいた『2ND NIGHT(Darker Than Blue 289/290)』と同一会場/同録音家コレクションの姉妹篇なのです!
