From the 1988 tour accompanying the announcement of the “NOBODY’S PERFECT” which was the last tour for the fifth period DEEP PURPLE immediately after the reunion, the pattern of the Copenhagen performance in Denmark on September 27 in the last stage is a two- It is release decision on CD. Using the high-quality audience master provided by overseas collectors, we reproduce the few live ’88 years live with superior sound.

The release of 1987 “THE HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHT” made a lot of difficulty in making albums, but after entering the tour, the band will show off an excellent performance that seems like DEEP PURPLE again. The band’s mood was also “memorable at that time” as members recalled, and in Europe tours that appointed BAD COMPANY as the opening, even in the US tour in May, we had a fulfilling live performance everywhere. To make use of this momentum, official recording was also done for the live album production on ’87 tour.
However, Ritchie was injured in Phoenix ‘s performance in the latter half of the US tour, and the band’ s air became somewhat disturbing, as he canceled the rest of the tour. The second European tour took place from August to September and the live recording was continued, but the conflict inside the rebellious band kept the band in danger.
After the tour in ’77, the band completed the live album ‘NOBODY’S PERFECT’. I announced it in June ’88 in the form of adding a remake version of the studio recording “Hush”. The band performed live in New Jersey ‘s “Giants Stadium” with AEROSMITH, GUNS N’ ROSES etc in the USA in August and then toured Europe for about a month from September. In this work, the live at Denmark Copenhagen on September 27, the final stage of it, is recorded in full audience sound with excellent sound.

Opening intro and “Highway Star” from the wonderful lightness and the spread of the ideal sound contains the appearance of the live, its clearness will convince the listener the master quality. There seems to be a slight distance between the taper and the stage, but the balance between direct feeling and hall echo can be said to be as good as tasting the presence feeling like audience recording. While focusing on Guillain’s vocals, Ritchie’s guitar, John’s keyboard, Pace and Roger’s bass are clearly listening to each other, and a well-balanced musical sound is wonderful.
As mentioned earlier, the interior of the band had already become unstable at the time, but I do not feel the negative situation in the performance, I feel the impression that rather moderate tension is tightening the performance. Ritchie’s sharp guitar, drumming drumming is at its best from the beginning, and “Highway Star” and “Strange Kind Of Woman” let you hear great play. More impressive is Guillain’s vocal. On this day, there is enough tension to overturn the listener’s expectation, and “Dead Or Alive” can enjoy the performance of noteworthy thing which is one of the best at the same time. Following “Perfect Strangers”, John’s organ and Roger’s bass emphasize the song’s formality and heaviness, making it a listening place even during the live show. You will be able to taste plenty of the charm that seems to be the fifth period PURPLE, harmonized with momentum, power, and high-quality taste.
Although the performance song is almost the same as the ’87 tour, it was the ’88 live individuality that opened up a new interest with the difference in song order and slight arrangement. “Black Night” which moved from the encore into the main part and “Lazy” which slightly changed the approach from the previous year by including drum solo are typical. Also at that time, “Guild” songs were becoming severe, “Child In Time” can enjoy enjoying the tremendous performance like the beginning of the fifth period on this day. Of course Ritchie and John’s solo have no complaints! Furthermore, the medley of “Knocking At Your Back Door” and “Space Truckin ‘” which is characteristic of the ’88 year live can also be enjoyed with the highest level audience sound full of presence and power.
Encore starting from “Woman From Tokyo” also listens to plenty. Of course, “Hush” in the “NOBODY’S PERFECT” version, which makes a new dress, as well as “Speed King” pushing forward with overflowing power (course of course “Burn” rif) is also enjoyable and exciting live. In the last, promised “Smoke On The Water” directs excitement involving the entire venue and closes the live in a great circle.

This ’88 tour is known as the definitive version of the sound board sound source ‘KNOCK THE TRUCKIN’ ‘which leaks officials. However, this part, which is said to be the finest in audience recording at that time, is proud of the quality which is superior to that, where there were missing or degradation of the master in part. In addition, contents that fully recorded the fifth period PURPLE live for 90 minutes will not be overlooked in terms of material.
DEEP PURPLE’s few 1988 live releases are decided to be released in a fully-limited press CD 2 set that is highly anticipated. Please do not miss this one mania essential book!

From the European tour accompanying the promotion of the live album “NOBODY’S PERFECT” held in September 1988, press CD that recorded the stage in Denmark – Copenhagen with good sound quality audience recording on September 27. At that time, Ritchie and Guillain’s feuds were surfaced in the band and the tour was also in danger, but this year was a one-shot stage in Europe and America and this European tour was done, but 10 Since the US tour that was being announced on the schedule to start from the month was canceled from the poor sales of “NOBODY ‘S PERFECT” in the US, this Europe tour is the result, at the time, the last of the reunited DEEP PURPLE enrolled with Guillain It was a tour of.
The stage of the day which took place at the end of the tour started with ‘familiar S.E.’ telling the opening “Highway Star”. Although the set list did not change much from the previous year tour, “Black Night” which was one of Angkor’s classic songs at that time was incorporated into the main volume, from the flow which was played also in the 1987 American tour “NOBODY’S PERFECT” is playing encore “Hush” which is said to have been recorded in commemoration of 20th anniversary of DEEP PURPLE formation. In the second song “Strange Kind Of Woman” you can listen to the promise of Ritchie and Guillain, but also on this day I will not feel the fear of the two of them, even “Jesus Christ Superstar” will pop out and “Black Night” Would it be my mind to hear somewhat more powerful play than when I was playing at encore? In the midfield, Richie plays a phrase like Jimi Hendrix ‘s “Hey Joe” intro, but John reacts, but Ritchie seems to be transitioning to another phrase as it is. It is interesting that this tour alone is mixing the ending of “Space Truckin ‘” with ending at the last “Knocking At Your Back Door”. As for Angkor’s listening point, it is again “Hush” remake of “Speed King” where rif of “Burn” promised already has come out. Although DEEP PURPLE ‘s debut song “Hush” did not know how it was recognized by American fans at that time, Guillain’s blues harp also pops out and the band’s play is hotter than I expected. From this Europe tour, there is also “KNOCK THE TRUCKIN ‘” (DARKER THAN BLUE: 4 CD) which recorded the sound board sound source, but because the sound source which recorded this tour is very limited, at the moment it is an audience It can be said that it is the best as an item of recording.
