Ritchie Blackmore DEEP PURPLE of the Joe Satriani era born from a sudden withdrawal drama. The legendary original recording that vacuum-packed the entire Nippon Budokan 2 performance is now available.
This work was imbued with the performance of “December 6th + 7th, 1993: Nippon Budokan”. It is a set of 4 audience recording sets that contains the full recording on 2 discs each. Satriani DP is a good era that is recognized as an era by the official, even though it has not left a formal work. At our shop, we have archived such precious performances in Japan with a number of masterpiece live albums. It’s a good time, so let’s look back at the schedule at the time and organize the collection.
・ December 2, “NAGOYA 1993”
・ December 3 “THE BATTLE RAGES IN OSAKA”
・ December 5 “THE BATTLE RAGES IN YOKOHAMA”

・ December 7: Nippon Budokan ← ★ This work DISC 3-4 ★ & “BATTLE RAGES AT BUDOKAN”

* Note: Only representative works on each day.
As mentioned above, we have a lineup of all 6 performances with the best audience recording. Of course, the highlight is the Nippon Budokan, which was also the setting for “MADE IN JAPAN”, and this work is a complete recording of those two nights.
This work is a brush-up of the traditional recording that represented the Nippon Budokan in 1993. It is a DAT master handed over from the recorder himself, and it is a famous recording that was once loved as “THE TOKYO BATTLE”. This work goes back to the original DAT and is made into a CD again. It’s also brushed up to modern audio standards. The key to the upgrade is Rich & Vivid. Of course, I’m not earning a lot of sound pressure, and I scrutinize the sound of each range from high to deep bass. While the fine bass roars thickly, the outline is sharper and the treble stretches naturally and vividly, rather than blurring. I try not to spoil the reality unique to audience recording, but I forget the fact that it is a guest recording while I am immersed. From the beginning, it was a famous recording with a lot of direct feeling without a sense of distance, but this work makes me feel like listening to it even on the official live board.
With such an upgrade sound, a group of masterpieces reborn by Satriani’s feats is drawn. The sound board of this era is famous for the FM sound source of “ST. GALLEN OPEN AIR” (you can enjoy it at our “THE BATTLE RAGES ON FIREBALL”), but that is just a digest along the broadcast frame. On the other hand, this work is an audience recording that penetrates two performances at once, and there is a large repertoire that can not be heard on FM broadcasting. Let’s organize the set while comparing here.

… And it looks like this. The basis of the set is based on the European Tour half a month ago when Ritchie was still there, but on the other hand, he has already begun to pick up songs that Ritchie could not think of. In addition to the new song “Ramshackle Man”, the delicious ones are the classics of the 70’s, such as “Maybe I’m A Leo”, “Pictures Of Home”, “When A Blind Man Cries”, and rare songs that were surprising at that time. It is studded.
And above all, the wonderful performance of drawing such a group of famous songs. Speaking of Satriani’s familiarity, the next summer’s European Tour will be on the rise, but on the contrary, this work is full of fresh surprises and excitement that has just discovered new possibilities. Satriani, who cherishes the original song and the original solo, and interweaves shred fast playing at key points, is wonderful even now, and it can be said that the phrase sense that stands out even a little is more than Mose. And the inspiration of the four people inspired by Satriani! In the first place, DEEP PURPLE is not a band supported by one person’s skill, but it is well known that the essence of sympathetic sympathetic nerves is. That is why fresh stimuli activate the ensemble and there are many member changes. And the stimulus of this work is Bing. The intense joy and fulfillment of “I can do it without Ritchie!” Is driving the show.
“IN ROCK” bet on rock conversion, “MADE IN JAPAN” that burned with exoticism for the first time. DEEP PURPLE was a band that showed their true ability in new challenges. This work is also overflowing with its true value and spilling out. A masterpiece suitable for calling “MADE IN JAPAN 21 years later” in a 4-disc set that renewed the highest peak of legendary recording. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.
★ Recorded by the best audience of the Joe Satriani era “December 6 + 7, 1993: Nippon Budokan” performance. The traditional DAT recording has been brushed up, and the contours are sharper while the fine bass is roaring thickly. It was a direct name recording with no sense of distance from the beginning, but this work seems to be an official live board. “Ramshackle Man”, “Maybe I’m A Leo”, “Pictures Of Home”, “When A Blind Man Cries”, etc., which were not possible in the Ritchie era, are delicious, but more than that is the performance itself. Satriani, who has a more flashy sense than Mose, and the inspiration of the four people inspired by him are also wonderful “MADE IN JAPAN 21 years later”.
