Joe Satriani DEEP PURPLE who was officially recognized as “one era” but did not leave an official work. Introducing a new excavation live album that will be the masterpiece.
[Satriani DP’s biggest sunny stage] It is “June 10, 1994 Karlshamn performance” that is sealed in such a work. This is a recording of a superb audience when he appeared in “Sommarfestivalen”, the predecessor of “Sweden Rock Festival”, which is famous as one of the best festivals in Europe. This is 1993/1994 DEEP PURPLE and Satriani. From the purple side, Ritchie announced his withdrawal in November during the “Purple Holy War” tour. From the perspective of Satriani, after the release of “TIME MACHINE”, he received an offer in his spare time before the end of the year and decided to join. The combination of the two was realized in the “Japan” tour in December 1993 and the “Europe # 2” in the summer of 1994. Among them, the Karlshamn performance of this work is the latter. It was the 7th performance of “Europe # 2”. The show was also the biggest stage of Satriani DP. Whether it’s “Japan” or “Europe # 2”, it’s basically an indoor hall tour, although there are some differences in the size of the venue. Among them, “Sommarfestivalen” is an outdoor festival where a total of 23 groups such as BAD COMPANY, David Lee Roth, and MOUNTAIN will appear over a two-day period. Satriani DP served as the first day bird.
[Reason for masterpiece: Superb sound and complete recording] This work recorded on such a big stage is currently a superb master who is shocking among collectors around the world as “This is the best masterpiece of Satriani DP!”. As long as “masterpiece” is marked with “best”, there is nothing else to match, but there are four main reasons. First of all, sound aside. This is really amazing. It may be an audience recording because it also sucks in fresh cheers, but the essential performance sounds and vocals do not seem to be guest recordings. The core is very thick, the details are super delicate, and the separate parts are crisp. And even if you listen carefully with headphones, you can not feel the reverberant component, a super tight zero distance feeling. This is probably (or absolutely) recorded with the microphone pointing straight at the PA tower on site. Because it is outdoors, there is no sound reflection, and the sound output from the sound board that is discharged from the PA is sucked in tightly. Strictly speaking, the stereo feeling may change slightly (only outdoors), but even FM sound board recording is a super-superb sound that is out of the question.And the second proof of the masterpiece is completely recorded. No matter how soundboard-like it is, Satriani DP also has real soundboards such as the Bayreuth performance (Germany) and the St. Gallen performance (Switzerland). However, such sound board recording is not a complete recording due to editing of the broadcast frame and recording omission, etc., and there is also tape deterioration etc. was. On the other hand, this work penetrates at once. There were three tape change cuts, but they were all applause scenes, and in this work they were connected naturally so that they wouldn’t even notice. You can experience the precious Satriani DP full show without missing a single note. [Reason for masterpiece: evolved performance and gorgeous guest] Of course, the performance itself is more important than the recording quality. This work deserves to be called a masterpiece in this respect as well. As mentioned above, it is a sunny stage of Satriani DP, but it also appears in the heat of the performance. What’s more, it’s not just an enthusiastic performance, but it also has “completeness”, so it’s amazing. For example, for us, Satriani DP is a memorable performance in Japan in 1993, but there was no time for rehearsals, and it was almost a real hit. Even so, it was wonderful to dispel Ritchie’s absence, but in 1994, “Europe # 2” has been rehabilitated firmly after a period of half a year. Although the thrill of the groping ensemble is hard to throw away, the unique phrases are addicted to each other and the feeling of breathing has reached the level of drawing out each other’s strengths because “where and how to play” is kneaded in advance. And the set is also slightly different from the Japanese performance. Let’s organize while comparing.

Of course, the number of venues is not enough to get tired of each other, and the famous performances during the updraft are bitten. And the special one is “Smoke On The Water” of the big lath. Here, the late Leslie West of MOUNTAIN, who was supposed to serve as a quasi-bird the next day, appears. It will let you hear a precious gorgeous co-star.
Joe Satriani & DEEP PURPLE that made Japanese fans groan even in the bumping production. It is a live album where you can fully experience the big stage that they wanted with perfect sound with superb sound. Although it is a hot new excavation master, the zero-distance sound that makes the most of the outdoor taste with zero echo is enormous, and complete recording that could not be expected with various sound boards is realized. Furthermore, arrangements / ensembles that are much deeper than the performances in Japan, guest co-starring with Leslie West in the large lath “Smoke On The Water”, etc … Despite the audience, it is the highest peak that acts as an “official substitute for the Satriani era.”
