DEEP PUROPLE in the Joe Lynn Turner era, which has been coldly treated from the official side. The legendary sound board that has served as the “official substitute” has been brushed up. A press 2CD that permanently preserves the highest quality in history that has undergone detailed mastering of “GRAF ZEPPELIN” is now available.
Engraved on this work is the stereo soundboard recording of “Sao Paulo performance on August 20th and 21st, 1991”. This is an upgraded version of the masterpiece soundboard album “SLAVES AND MASTER TAPES” born from the first South American tour.

[SBD collection of Jolin era being silenced] Speaking of DEEP PURPLE, the official archive is a very active band, but the Jolin era is an exception. The official live work has not been announced completely, perhaps because of the current band led by Ian Gillan. In that case, it is the underground sound board sound generation that attracts attention. Many people may have fallen into collection hell while seeking “an official alternative to the Jolin era”. Of course, our shop also has a lineup of such professional records. Now let’s organize the collection by tour dates.
・ February 4-March 17: Europe # 1 (30 performances) ← * Pro Shot Trilogy
・ April 10-May 15: North America (9 performances) ← * DEFINITIVE PHILADELPHIA 1991
・ June 24-July 3: Asia (6 performances)
・August 16-24: South America (7 performances) ← Coco
・ September 14-26: Europe #2 (5 performances)
・ September 28th + 29th: Israel (2 performances) ← * ISRAEL FIRE

This is the foamy “SLAVES AND MASTERS Tour”. Three famous professional shots are left from “Europe # 1”, and two works, “WICKED NIGHT” and “MASTER OF HUNGARY”, are compiled at our shop. All other long sound boards have been made into press CDs and are permanently preserved in “DEFINITIVE PHILADELPHIA 1991”, “ISRAEL FIRE”, and this work. As mentioned above, it was the first South American landing for DEEP PURPLE, but all of them are Brazil. Four performances were held in Sao Paulo, and the sound board was excavated in the third performance (the first half) and the fourth performance (almost the whole story).

[Updated the highest peak with detailed mastering] Of course, this work is the definitive edition that includes both of them with the longest and highest quality. It is a two-disc set that includes the 4th performance (8/21), which can be heard as a full live album, and the 3rd performance (8/20) as a bonus. Both use the same master as “SLAVES AND MASTER TAPES”, but this itself is the highest peak that has never been exceeded. The main “8/21” sounds better than the long-known master, and “SLAVES AND MASTER TAPES” was the first to appear for the bonus “8/20”. This work further refines such “SLAVES AND MASTER TAPES” master.
“That said, it’s not a reckless pursuit of sound pressure.” If you have read this article, you will know that the method of “GRAF ZEPPELIN” is faithful to the basics, and its accuracy is superhuman. Pitch/phase is corrected to 1/1000th of a second, and various noises such as stylus jumps, hiss, scratches, and hum are processed precisely. In addition, “overdoing” is extremely avoided, and we are pursuing the last-minute stop processing that does not affect the performance sound. The finish that puts the greatest value on “reproducing the sound output at the site” is penetrated by the aesthetics that leads to the restoration of paintings.
And the design has also revived “SLAVES AND MASTER TAPES”. The big thing this time is the balance adjustment by band analysis. This work was an outflow sound board of the mix table diameter system, so the mix was rough and the bass was spoiled. Therefore, the bass is also enhanced in this work. Of course, instead of just raising the bass appropriately, we reproduced the sound output balance of a normal live while taking care not to impair the separate feeling unique to the sound board.

[Ritchie Blackmore burning in South America for the first time] With such an upgraded sound, a live album that was said to be “an official alternative to the Jolin era”. Here, let’s organize the contents of the set.
70’s Classics
・Burn (★) / Black Night (incl. Long Live Rock ‘N’ Roll: ★) / Child In Time (★) / Lazy / Highway Star / Smoke On The Water / Woman From Tokyo
● After reunion
・Perfect Strangers: Perfect Strangers / Knocking At Your Back Door
・Slaves and Masters: Truth Hurts (★) / The Cut Runs Deep (incl. Hush: ★) / Fire In The Basement / Love Conquers All
・Others: Hey Joe/Difficult To Cure/Blues
* Note: “★” marks are songs that are also recorded for the 3rd performance (8/20).

… and it looks like this. It is the same set for both days, but “8/20” is only the first half of the show. Two takes of the songs marked with “★” are recorded. The main “8/21” also has a cut (tape change?) in the middle of “Hush” and the call and response part of “Smoke On The Water”, so it is not strictly full, but all songs are recorded without leaking. . “Burn” at the beginning is especially delicious. Guillain never sings, so it’s a masterpiece unique to the Jolin era, but the beginning was missing in “DEFINITIVE PHILADELPHIA 1991” and the whole was not recorded in “ISRAEL FIRE”. However, in the main “8/21” of this work (because it is a fade-in, it is barely possible), you can listen to it on the sound board from the first riff.
Furthermore, the performance itself is wonderful. Richie is motivated whether he was excited about South America for the first time, and there is much more momentum than Japan and Europe. Of course, if Richie burns, the heat spreads throughout the band. John Lord’s impromptu phrases are also overflowing without stagnation, and Joe’s throat is also on the rise. This work is a soundboard album that pours such performances into the brain in detail to the subtleties.
In terms of the polished mix balance, “DEFINITIVE PHILADELPHIA 1991” is the strongest alternative to “official”, but this work goes above the real thrill of being able to enjoy a full (almost) full show from “Burn”. It is a two-disc set that has updated the highest peak of such a masterpiece sound board. If you don’t want to leave the Jolin era on the official side, the underground has no choice but to save it permanently. Press 2CD engraved with the mission. Enjoy anytime, anywhere!

REMASTERED BY GRAF ZEPPELIN

* Phase correction

★Balance adjustment with EQ.Mainly compensates for insufficient low frequencies

★ Stereo sound board recording of “Sao Paulo performance on August 20 + 21, 1991”. It is a two-disc set that mainly includes “August 21st (all songs)” and “August 20th (only the first half)” as a bonus, and is the longest existing record on both days. The mastering by “GRAF ZEPPELIN” is extremely precise, and the fine bass is revived powerfully by the balance adjustment by band analysis. It is a definitive board that serves as an “official substitute” for the Joe Lynn Turner era, which is a national book from the official side.

DEFINITIVE PHILADELPHIA 1991
ISRAEL FIRE

これが泡沫の“SLAVES AND MASTERS Tour”。

Burn(★)/Black Night(incl. Long Live Rock ‘N’ Roll:★)/Child In Time(★)/Lazy/Highway Star/Smoke On The Water/Woman From Tokyo
Perfect Strangers/Knocking At Your Back Door
Truth Hurts(★)/The Cut Runs Deep(incl. Hush:★)/Fire In The Basement/Love Conquers All
Hey Joe/Difficult To Cure/Blues
