From the 80’s collection of the famous 80s recordings, the first appearance recording after a long time appears. It is an urgent release decision with the permanent preservation press 2CD.
Included in such a work is “Perona performance on September 7, 1987”. This is the finest audience recording that includes the act of “THE HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHT TOUR”, which is valuable even in the reorganization DEEP PURPLE. Although it was 80’s PURPLE that had already been excavated, this work is the first appearance sound source. Moreover, there is no separate recording so far, and it is the first live show album to listen to. First of all, the show position before the impact. This is DEEP PURPLE in 1987/1988. This era is famous for “NOBODY’S PERFECT”, but this work is just before its release. It was the final performance of “Europe # 2” which will be the last show in 1987. Speaking of Italy of “Europe # 2”, the excavation sound board album “LOST MILAN TAPE (Darker Than Blue 003/004)” is also recalled, but this work was also a concert before the three performances.
It’s surprising just to be the first appearance after more than 30 years, but the quality is also overwhelming. Anyway, it is clear, beautiful, and wonderfully neat. In fact, it’s not a close sound like a sound board, and I’m honestly sucking the Italian frenzy. However, the sound is fine and fresh, and one sound and one sound that jumps straight into the ears are clarified to the fine part. Ritchie’s Strato shines brightly with its tonic tone and exquisite mischievous phrases, and Ian Giran’s shout has no resentment and no chatter and cuts through the space just like the 70s. This sensation is just a beautiful recording reminiscent of Japan’s prestigious Kinney. There are tape change cuts after “Bad Attitude” and “Space Truckin’ “, but none of them are brilliant.
Of course, it wasn’t Kinney who was able to make this recording, but the buzzing recording artist “Biccio59”. Although it is a modern handle name, it is a taper that was active in Italy in the 80s, and its original master has been excavated one after another. Just like ten years ago, the master of the historical master Dan Lampinsky was fired, but it is similar to that situation. In our store, DIRE STRAITS’s “FERRARA 1983 (Uxbridge 1122)” was introduced as the first one and received great popularity, but this work is one of such masterpiece collections.
Such a master is currently a shock among world enthusiasts, but this work is further refined with meticulous mastering. Of course, the sound of natural sound is kept as it is without ruining the truth of the famous recording by earning sound pressure without darkness. However, the pitch, which was slightly out of order, was accurately adjusted, and the overall balance was further finely tuned. Optimized for the modern audio environment, while remaining “faithful to the on-site sound”. Thanks to this, the outline of each instrument becomes more vivid and the ensemble can be felt three-dimensionally. Even if it doesn’t change significantly, the sound has been finished to the full potential of the original sound.
The show drawn with the beautiful sound is a masterpiece of “Golden 5” that embodies the ideal of HR. The set is similar to “LOST MILAN TAPE” after 3 performances, but also “Woman From Tokyo”. Of course, “THE HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHT” numbers such as “The Unwritten Law”, “Dead Or Alive”, and “Bad Attitude”, which were not heard in “NOBODY’S PERFECT”, will also be performed.
Actually, this new song group is very good. Overall, it ’s a daring performance like the last day of the tour, but “Dead Or Alive”, where the momentum explodes, has been squeezed by the economy, and the profound rhythm of “The Unwritten Law” is also crisp. Giran is more overwhelming. Whether the condition is good or the high shout grows sharply and screams to show off. Even though it is the last day when you don’t have to worry about tomorrow’s condition, it’s really high tension. In the song introduction of “Bad Attitude”, I play endlessly with “Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba ……”. The tension is also propagated to Richie and John Road, and it’s easy to see how the best five are stimulated each other and causing magic.

“A marvelous new recording unearthed from a collection of masterpieces that can be called“ Kinney of Italy ”and“ Rampinski in the 1980s ”. It is a live album that not only lets you experience a full show that you have never heard before, but also impresses with its neat sound. 今話題の80年代名録音家コレクションから、久々の初登場録音が登場。永久保存プレス２CDで緊急リリース決定です。
そんな本作に収められているのは「1987年９月７日ヴェローナ公演」。再結成DEEP PURPLEでも貴重な“THE HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHT TOUR”の一幕を収めた極上オーディエンス録音です。すでに発掘され尽くした感もある80年代PURPLEでしたが、本作はまったくの初登場音源。しかも、これまで別録音も一切なく、初めて聴くショウのライヴアルバムなのです。その衝撃の内容の前に、まずはショウのポジション。リッチー・ブラックモアとイアン・ギランがフル参加した最後のワールド・ツアーを俯瞰して確かめておきましょう。

これが1987年／1988年のDEEP PURPLE。この時代は何よりも『NOBODY’S PERFECT』で有名なわけですが、本作はそのリリース直前。1987年のラスト・ショウともなる「欧州#2」の最終公演でした。また、「欧州#2」のイタリアと言えば発掘サウンドボード・アルバム『LOST MILAN TAPE（Darker Than Blue 003/004）』も思い出されますが、本作はその３公演前のコンサートでもありました。
30年以上を経て初登場というだけでも驚きですが、そのクオリティにもド肝を抜かれる。とにかくクリアで美しく、素晴らしく端正。実のところ、サウンドボードと間違えるようなド密着サウンドではありませんし、イタリア人の熱狂も正直に吸い込んでいる。しかし、その鳴りは細やかで瑞々しく、真っ直ぐに耳元に飛び込む１音１音が微細部まで克明。リッチーのストラトはトロけるトーンも絶品ならささやかな悪戯フレーズもキラキラと輝き、イアン・ギランのシャウトは淀みもビビリも一切なく、70年代さながらに空間を切り裂く。この感覚は、ちょうど日本の名門キニーを彷彿とさせる美録音なのです。「Bad Attitude」「Space Truckin’」の後でテープチェンジのカットはありますが、いずれも演奏音を削っていないのも見事です。
もちろん、この録音を成し得たのはキニーではなく、今話題の録音家「Biccio59」。現代のハンドルネーム的な名前ではありますが、80年代にイタリアで活動していたテーパーで、現在そのオリジナル・マスターが次々と発掘されている。ちょうど、10年近く前に歴史的名手ダン・ランピンスキーのマスターが連発された事がありましたが、あの状況に似ている。当店では、第１弾としてDIRE STRAITSの『FERRARA 1983（Uxbridge 1122）』をご紹介して大好評を賜りましたが、本作はそんな名手コレクションの１つなのです。
そんなマスターは現在、世界のマニア間で衝撃と成っているわけですが、本作ではさらに細心マスタリングで磨き込み。もちろん、無闇矢鱈な音圧稼ぎでせっかくの名録音の真実を汚したりはせず、ナチュラルな鳴りはそのまま。ただし、若干狂っていたピッチを正確にし、さらに全体のバランスを見て高音を微調整。あくまでも「現場音に忠実」としながらも現代のオーディオ環境に最適化。そのおかげで各楽器の輪郭は一層鮮やかになり、アンサンブルも立体的に感じられる。特に大きくは変化させずとも、原音の持っていた可能性を最大限に引き出したサウンドに仕上げたのです。
その美音で描かれるショウは、HRの理想を体現した“黄金の５人”の名演。セットは３公演後の『LOST MILAN TAPE』に近いものの同じではなく、さらに「Woman From Tokyo」も演奏。もちろん、『NOBODY’S PERFECT』では聴けなかった「The Unwritten Law」「Dead Or Alive」「Bad Attitude」といった『THE HOUSE OF BLUE LIGHT』ナンバーも大盤振る舞いされるのです。
実際、この新曲群がすこぶる良い。全体でもツアー最終日らしい思い切りの良い演奏なのですが、その勢いが爆発する「Dead Or Alive」は景気よくかっ飛ばし、「The Unwritten Law」の重厚リズムもキレッキレ。さらに圧倒的なのはギラン。コンディションも良いのかハイシャウトも鋭く伸びに伸び、見せびらかすように叫び倒す。明日の調子を気にする必要のない最終日とは言え、えらくテンションが高い。「Bad Attitude」の曲紹介でも「Ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba, ba……」と延々と遊んでいます。そのノリノリなテンションはリッチーやジョン・ロードもにも伝播し、絶好調の５人がいかに互いに刺激され、マジックを引き起こしているかがよく分かるのです。

「イタリアのキニー」「80年代のランピンスキー」とでも言える名手の業物コレクションから発掘された驚異の新録音。今まで聴いた事のないフルショウが体験できるだけでなく、その端正サウンドにも感動するライヴアルバムです。これからどんな名録音が飛び出してくるかも楽しみな１作。どうぞ、じっくりとご堪能ください。
