Gilmour’s latest solo tour “RATTLE THAT LOCK TOUR” for the first time in 9 years. The superb multi-camera image is now available.
The content of this work is “September 17, 2015 Orange Performance”. This is an audience shot taken at the French world heritage site “Roman Theater”. The official work “LIVE AT POMPEII” is also left for this tour pattern, but this work can be said to be the exact opposite. This is the whole picture of “RATTLE THAT LOCK TOUR”. The tour starts in Europe and returns to Europe across South America / North America, and the official “LIVE AT POMPEII” is the final stage. On the other hand, this work was the 5th concert of “Europe # 1”, which was the very early stage.
This work, which recorded such a show, is a super beautiful video work that enthusiasts would have made with great care. Anyway, great perfection. If the number of cuts used is huge, the quality of one cut and one cut is also the best. The distant view angle is overwhelmingly spectacle with a huge circular screen, and the zoom is a doup that can only be thought of as a professional shot. It also makes full use of images from all angles and distances, and I have no idea how many cameras have been retuned.
And the editing that builds up such a superb scene is not a hamper. Of course, the super zoom is adopted as a highlight, and the 1 cut and 1 cut are not blurred at all. I don’t know if I’m scraping all the blurry scenes or stabilizing them by trimming, but the slow movement of the beautiful scene makes me forget the fact that it’s an audience. Anyway, it is a video masterpiece that crystallizes the passion, sense and spirit of enthusiasts. Multi-camera editing of audience shots has been commonplace for a long time, but not so many masterpieces of aesthetics. In an era when simply saying “multi-camera” does not guarantee quality, this work is definitely a masterpiece with “super”. ９年ぶりにして、ギルモア最新のソロツアー“RATTLE THAT LOCK TOUR”。その超極上マルチカメラ映像が登場です。
そんな本作に収められているのは「2015年９月17日オランジュ公演」。フランスの世界遺産“ローマ劇場”で撮影されたオーディエンス・ショットです。このツアー模様は公式作品『LIVE AT POMPEII』も残されていますが、本作はその正反対と言っても良い。その辺の事情をご説明するためにも、まずは当時のスケジュールを振り返り、ショウのポジションを確かめておきましょう。

これが“RATTLE THAT LOCK TOUR”の全体像。ツアーはヨーロッパから始まり、南米/北米を挟んでヨーロッパに還ってくるスタイルで、公式『LIVE AT POMPEII』はその終盤。それに対し、本作は極初期にあたる「欧州#1」５公演目のコンサートでした。
そんなショウを記録した本作は、マニアが丹精込めて製作したであろう超美麗な映像作品。とにかく凄い完成度。使われているカットも膨大なら、１カット１カットのクオリティも極上。遠景アングルは巨大な円形スクリーンが丸ごと入るスペクタクルが圧倒的で、ズームはプロショットとしか思えないほどのドアップ。それもあらゆる角度・距離の映像が駆使されており、何台のカメラが再調されているのk見当も付きません。
そして、そんな極上の光景を組み上げていく編集もハンパではない凝りよう。見どころで超ズームが採用されているのはもちろん、その１カット１カットがまったくブレない。ブレたシーンをことごとく削っているのか、トリミングで安定化させているのかは分かりませんが、ビシッと美しい光景がゆったりと動く様は気品さえ漂わせ、オーディエンスという事実を忘れさせる。さらに言えば、切り替えにもセンスと美学が注ぎ込まれ、音楽のタイミングとイメージにピタッとシンクロ。全景＋ズームのように異なるアングルを透かしで重ね合わせる等の細かい演出技法も駆使され、本当にプロショットかのよう。さらにさらに一気貫通の音声もオンで超美麗であり、さらにプロショット感を高めているのです。
そんな映像美で描かれるのは、FLOYDを受け継いだ“RATTLE THAT LOCK TOUR”のフルショウ。前述の通り、『LIVE AT POMPEII』とは時期が違うこともあってセットも異なる。ここでは公式品と比較しながらまとめてみましょう。

とにかく、マニアの情熱とセンスと意地が結晶となった映像傑作です。オーディエンス・ショットのマルチカメラ編集も一般的になって久しいものの、ここまで美学が溢れ出す傑作はそうはない。単に「マルチカメラ」というだけではクオリティを保証することにならなくなった時代にあって、本作は間違いなく「超」の付く傑作なのです。これが当時公開されていれば、もし『LIVE AT POMPEII』が存在しなければ、問答無用で永久保存プレス化されていたであろう１枚。どうぞ、存分にご堪能ください。
