The first appearance audience recording of the American leg from the 1983 Serious Moonlight Tour where David Bowie reached the peak as a “pop star”, and the performance place that Bowie would have had to put effort into The “Two Of Us” team, who continues to discover, released the best recording of the first day of Madison Square Garden, and I remember that the UX BRIDGE label released it as “MADISON SQUARE GARDEN 1983 1ST NIGHT”. Is it a new place?
It was very popular because it was a great performance suitable for the first day at a venerable venue and the sound quality was very good, but this time the “Two Of Us” team released the second day of MSG. Of course, it uncovers an unreleased audience every time, but what makes the “Two Of Us” team so outstanding is that the sound quality is also very good. This time, of course, the quality is excellent and does not disappoint the expectations of enthusiasts.

As well as the rich and warm presence of the first day, the balance of the on-sound image is also powerful. In terms of the excitement of the live, it is a tremendous thing that surpasses the first day, and in fact it is considerably exciting even around the taper.
However, it doesn’t cause any stress at all. After all, Madison Square Garden is a tour that has reached its peak as a pop star. For that reason, the excitement is really smiley, and yet the area where you sing the new song “China Girl” at that time together conveys Bowie’s popularity unique to 1983.
It was all Bowie who inspired the excitement so far. Even on the first day of MSG, the performance was so energetic, but on the second day, the tension was so high that I completely shook it off. Compared to “MADISON SQUARE GARDEN 1983 1ST NIGHT”, the tempo is clearly faster (or rather running), and even during the Serious Moonlight Tour, the atmosphere of the performance is so different just by a different day. I don’t think so.
In addition, as with the first day, Bowie hardly emits MC, yet it is impressive that the performance is swiftly folded. If you think about it, Bowie’s enthusiasm that seems to overwhelm the exciting audience stands out in “Life On Mars”, and the band’s performance is also spectacular from “Station To Station”.

Bowie finally took a break and talked to the audience in the introduction of the members after finishing “Space Oddity”, but even though he did not name it, he said that it was “someone’s birthday”. Since the profiles of all the participating members are unknown, it is difficult to distinguish, but at least it seems that it is not Carlos Almar or Earl Slick.
And instead of the disappearance of “Red Sails” that was done the day before, “I Can’t Explain” was sung at the end of the live on this day. Needless to say, it is a cover of The Who and a song from the album “PINUPS”. However, the reaction here is enthusiastic because it was the song that was also shown on the TV special “THE 1980 FLOOR SHOW” where Americans were the first to burn Bowie’s existence. It was a song selection that was just right for this day. This is the second day of the MSG performance. Not to mention the wonderful sound quality this time, it is a great performance that is surprisingly different from the previous day!

「Space Oddity」
