16年前の放送だけあって、現代のギラギラ・クリアなデジタル画質を見慣れた目には少々柔らかい印象のある画面ではありますが、それがまた得も言われぬ雰囲気を醸しだす。もう、オープニングから幻想的なムードが凄い。夕刻のグラストンベリーにピアノソロが鳴り響き、「Wild Is The Wind」のイントロに導かれてロングヘアをたなびかせたボウイが登場。白のコートに身を包み、軽くお辞儀をしながらムーディに歌い出す姿は、凄まじいオーラを漂わせているのです。そして、１曲、また１曲と歌うごとにグラストンベリーの闇は深くなり、客席に輝くライターの海が広大に広がっていく。ボウイの佇まいだけでなく、観客、会場、そして太陽と星々の輝きまでもが彼を輝かせるために存在しているかのよう。そんな光景が画面いっぱいに広がるのです。
