From the short-term Hours Tour of only 8 shows, December 2, 1999 London recorded the Astorian performance completely with the soundboard of Bari Bali. Sound quality is as high as the quality of live album is acceptable as it is, representing not only this tour, boasts one of the best sound quality of Bowie’s collectors item. Especially the vocals’ vivacity is exceptional, and they fall into the illusion that the bowie is singing right there. Even for those who collect the tours, the Hours Tour will suffice if this work is available.

The concert will start with a quiet “Life On Mars”. It instantly turns into an elegant enthusiasm with a beautiful piano intro in the hall. The opening which is free from such gaudiness is also wonderful with its taste. In particular, it is a touching feeling that it sings to slowly climb the “she’s lived it ten times or more” part of the lyrics. And on the 1990 tour, it is high point that the singer singing “Lifonma ~ ♪” singing properly is singing properly. Moreover, the back is a simple performance of only piano, and piano repeatedly hitting with occasional accents creates a classical atmosphere. What is surprising is that the venue was singing with Bowie at the beginning, from the part of the second lyric “Cause Lennon’s on sale again”. Whether it is a mix relationship, it is a very effective and moving take.

And for the second song, it is “Word On A Wing”. It is said that he suddenly plays a beautiful and magnificent song like this that spreads the sky all the way to the wing and suddenly plays in 1999. This song is one of the best masterpieces of Bowie’s songs, a released 1976 tour and a VH 1 storyteller single shot, and a rare number played only on this Hours Tour. Almost similar to the original arrangement, female chorus enters the same way. Bowie sings somewhat lower, but it is not something that shrinks the charm of a song. What is unfortunate is that it is a performance that pushed the guitar to the front instead of the piano. It is hard to say that the impressive piano that was in the original does not surpass the studio version as much, but it is impressed only by the fact that the Bowie after a quarter century from the presentation replays on the stage.

“Ashes To Ashes” does not fade out and it stops until ending properly. That floating feeling has also been perfectly reproduced, and it has become a simple but tasteful performance. “China Girl” is being played with a solid feeling arrangement that makes the bass burst. It is not interesting to be reborn as a hard rock full of speed from the original version that had an oriental atmosphere. It feels like a lead base. Then the intro is played acoustically. For a moment it seemed like TIN MACHINE’s “I Can Read” from melody, but surprisingly I played and “Always Crashing In The Same Car” was playing. The audience seems to have no idea what the song is at the beginning, and cheers are rising only after the lyrics have started. “Drive In Saturday” is a song that the Bowie likes singing at the stage since the Ziggy era, and it is a rare song whose different arrangements can be heard and compared on the occasional tour. The 1999 version is a slow rock number mainly composed of female chorus and guitar. And, originally it was “Stay” that I wanted to continue playing “Word On A Wing” that I played in the second song. Apart from the guitar of the intro phrase, the lead / guitar plays an unpleasant sound that is significantly different from the original, sewing the intros and placing the count on the bowie as “One! To Three Three Four!” The place to enter the song is unbearably cool. Long base and guitar solo are added in the second half of the song. “Changes” is Bowie Classics which shows that the whole venue is singing. And “Rebel Rebel” starts with the medley in the form invited by the ending piano. To the back which repeats the familiar riff with a distorted guitar, the bowie is a bit pushed down. The end of the concert is “I ‘m Afraid Of Americans”. Although I do not know without listening at the venue, it is a song that overwhelms the audience with an arrangement that makes the basses resound to the belly of the people who are in the audience seats with a reverberating arrangement. Here also the drum is reinforcing the powerful and impudent bass sound in the part of the rust is perfectly recorded.

And from the new album “Hours” supported by the tour, it is also active artistic feeling that he is playing six songs and over half of the album’s songs. “Hours” recorded songs are rare songs of this tour only, except that “Survive” was played on the Heathern tour, and will not be played on the tour after this. There are only albums that are closest to drift and it is completely reproduced without major change in arrangement. The opening number “Thursday Child” of a beautiful glittering acoustic guitar. Following the album the female chorus gets even thinner. For this purpose, we introduce a female chorus to the stage and it can be said that it is also used for arrangement of other old songs. “Survive” “Seven” is also the same slow ballad. From the same album, I can not deny a similar atmosphere. However, “Can not Help Thinking About Me” is a song that is unique to Bowie who puts vocals lightly on a running drum. I’m on a somewhat nostrilding song.

At the beginning, I wrote that in conjunction with the release of ‘Hours’ in 1999, I wrote that I performed numerous television appearances in parallel with the tour for promotion, but the second half of disc 2 recorded the studio live of the TV that appeared at this time There. First of all it was the performance “Something In The Air” at David Letterman Show on October 4, 1997. It was a performance of only this song on this day. Next on October 9, 1999, this is not just a TV, but as part of the regular tour London is a soundboard sound source from “NetAid” at Wembley Stadium. 6 songs relayed are recorded from the complete set list played in this volume. Next two songs “Thursday’s Child” and “China Girl” that I played at Rosie O’Donnell show on November 17, 1999. In the case that the time is limited, there are many cases in which new songs that also serve as promotions and the representative songs of customers who are out of customers are played, but even at this time also the example is a combination of new songs plus old songs. The last is the appearance to Jules Holland on December 4. In this program we are playing four songs, but the old songs “Ashes To Ashes” and “Cracked Actor” are composed of new songs “Somethin In The Air” and “Survive”. I would have liked to have a new song not played on an actual concert, if possible, with the studio / live of TV, but it was also the character of the tour promotion at the same time as the album.

From the short tour of only eight performances accompanying Bowie’s 1999 Hours, London December 2, London recorded the Astorian performances completely with a Bali Bali soundboard which is as good as a live album. Bowie’s performances like hairstyles like Kimtak in the 1990s are recorded in vivid sound images, from songs that were performed in arrangements unique to this period to songs recorded only on this tour “Hours” . In addition, the bonus track contains a studio live on television that appeared vigorously in 1999, and it is a representative board of this tour. Permanent preservation of a beautiful picture / disk specification A tightly pressed board.

一瞬メロディからTIN MACHINEの「I Can Read」かと思わせられるが、意外や演奏するのは「Always Crashing In The Same Car」であった。 コンサートの最後は「I’m Afraid Of Americans」である。

この番組では4曲演奏しているのだが、「Ashes To Ashes」と「Cracked Actor」という旧曲で、「Somethin In The Air」と「Survive」という新曲を挟む構成となっている。
