“ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR” The legendary name recording is incredible upgrade / grade. It appears in the specification board specification of permanent preservation press 2CD.
That name recording is “the performance of London 20 August 1972”. It is a Rainbow Theater performance that remains in record as co-starring with Lindsay Kemp Theater Company’s pantomime. This show has long been known for film images and audience recordings, and it has been known as a show symbolizing the first half of “ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR”. Although this work is a famous audience recording in history, it is a new master unearthed in recent years.
It’s terrible for its upgrade and grade. It was obvious that it was a famous recording in which the singing voice of the Bowie was crispy with a glittering sound, but it is not a story. It is completely different thing anymore. Transparency is the most intense. The air feeling which was muffled is skittish and clear, shining crystal clear. Even if you listen carefully at the headphones, the level of fierce clearness that does not feel the sound of the venue as if you are not feeling it is that level which does not substitute anything with sound board recording.
In fact, Mick · Ronson’s guitar was overcome until the sharpness of the cutting, one drum stroke was also on and there was no blur. Bowie’s singing voice shines crystal with youthful singing, and it grows beautifully everywhere. At the end of the phrase Bowie clearly heard the moment when Mike’s breath flew. Evidence of the audience is inscribed with a real applause, but roughly the sound world far from the word “customer record of the seventies”. It is a strange super high quality sound comparable to even the super masterpiece “BOSTON 1972 (Wardour – 225)” which was called “the ultimate board in the history of Bowie”.
Although it is unbelievable sound in the 70s, the show is undoubtedly the world of the treasure of the ’70s “ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR”. This tour lasted until 1973, but the members of the first half of 1972 also differed finely. First of all, let’s check the position on a schedule.

· January 29 – March 24: British # 1 (18 performances)
· April 20 – May 27: UK # 2 (15 shows)
· June 2 – July 15: British # 3 (18 performances)
· August 19 – September 7: British # 4 (12 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
· September 22 – December 2: North America (26 performances)
· December 23 – 29: UK # 5 (4 shows)

This is the one that took out “ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR” for 1972 only. In 1973 it became a large house, but in 1972 it was a simple composition of “basic 4 people + keyboard” with four people missing keyboard in “UK # 1”, the first Matthew Fisher in “UK # 2” , “British # 3” is Robin Lamley, “British # 4” is Nicky Graham, and from the “North America” to the end of the tour in 1973 is Mike Gerson. The London performance of this work corresponds to the second performance of “UK # 4”, Nicky Graham is in charge of the keyboard.
Member composition is also rare, but more than that is the show itself. It is not the usual “Hang On To Yourself” … … but what is “Lady Stardust” starting with “Ode To Joy”. I do not know if it was directed for co-starring a pantomime, but the performance from a moist ballad is very rare and it has been confirmed only at the Rainbow Theater 2 show in “UK # 4”. After that it will be a show shoot which seems to be “ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR”, but as soon as the second half comes, 2nd album “The Wild Eyed Boy From Freecloud” appears. It was frequently played in the 1973 edition, but it was a number that I could not listen to in 1972’s masterpiece “LIVE SANTA MONICA ’72” or “BOSTON 1972”.
And, it is actually “Starman” to become “more” than that. I will sing “Starman over the rainbow ♪” by hanging on the Rainbow Theater in the venue. It is not merely a momentary change lyric, but with an arrangement with a break break. Originally “Beyond the Rainbow” there is something like a melody, which is very coolly decided. Together with “Lady Stardust” at the beginning, it is the name scene which is also a symbol of this Rainbow Theater performance.

Instead of familiar “Rock ‘n’ Roll Suicide”, this work closes the curtain with “Waiting For The Man” that seems to be the beginning of the tour. It is a live album that surprising upgrade quality ensues through such a fresh set. One wonder that you can taste the legendary name performance with supreme superb sound that suddenly came alongside the historical Daimyo board “BOSTON 1972”. In the future, it is a famous rock name board which will be permanently handed down as one of the vertices of “ZIGGY STARDUST TOUR”. Please, please enjoy plenty with the press 2CD which leaves the glow forever.

★ It is the biggest bowie title this year. Great upgrade! ! !

「Ode To Joy」に導かれて始まるのはいつも通りの「Hang On To Yourself」……

慣れ親しんだ「Rock ‘n’ Roll Suicide」ではなく、ツアー序盤らしい「Waiting For The Man」で幕を閉じる本作。
