Bowie has performed 49 performances live in Japan since his first visit to Japan in 1973. Introducing a live album where you can experience the “last one” in a superb way.
The last one was the performance of “March 11, 2004: Osaka Castle Hall”. This work is a transcendental audience recording that vacuum-packed the whole story. The last visit to Japan was also the first act of the last world tour “A REALITY Tour”. Bowie fell ill without completing the tour, and the tour never took place again. 1 performance 1 performance was on a countdown tour, what kind of position was Japan? Let’s look back on the whole view of the tour.

● 2003
・ August 19: Warm-up gig
《September 16th release of “REALITY”》
・ October 7-November 28: Europe # 1 (31 performances) ← * Official Edition A REALITY TOUR
・ December 13-20: North America # 1a (4 performances)
● 2004
・ January 7-March 1: North America # 1b / Oceania (26 performances)
・ March 4: Singapore performance
・ March 8th-March 11th: Japan (3 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
・ March 14: Hong Kong performance
・ March 29-June 25: North America # 2 / Europe # 2 (46 performances)
《June 25: Emergency transport due to aneurysm》

This is the overall picture of “A REALITY Tour 2003-2004”. Bowie collapsed in Germany in June 2004, but Japan was about three months before that. It was also in the middle of the Asian leg that went around the three countries. With the composition of “2 performances at Nippon Budokan + 1 performance at Osaka Castle”, this work permanently preserves the Osaka performance, which was the genuine “last performance in Japan”.
It was a very heavy and memorial show, but the sound itself that conveys it was a real shock. As a matter of fact, I was a master who had been introduced as “A REALITY IN OSAKA: THE LAST CONCERT IN JAPAN” before, but even if I listen to it again, it’s just like a “sound board”. It is also a finely refined FM broadcast-class superb sound. Very thick core, too fine details, a feeling of close contact with perfect zero distance, a separate feeling that each instrument, singing voice and chorus are beautifully separated … The official live work “A REALITY TOUR” is left on this tour. However, even if they are played side by side, they do not give up half a step. Even if I try to find the best ara with headphones, the only audience-likeness is the cheers and cheers between the songs. Even when it was released as “A REALITY IN OSAKA” five years ago, it was praised as “there is almost no record of Bowie’s career and audience that exceeds this work”, but even now, the throne is still It’s not shaking at all.
In fact, the ultimate sound didn’t even have room for upgrades. It was remastered at the time of “A REALITY IN OSAKA”, but with this release, we also tried to refine it with advanced technology. But I can’t move it at all. No scratches are found even if you glance at the waveform, and the beauty that is adjusted to the last minute will be cloudy if it is a staring contest. I would like you to be surprised by the improved sound, but it was an “extremely beautiful sound” that I couldn’t forgive.
Bowie’s last performance in Japan is drawn with such a miracle sound. Let’s organize the full set, which is too memorial, by comparing it with the official live work “A REALITY TOUR”.

* Note: The “★” mark is a song that cannot be heard in the official work “A REALITY TOUR”.

… And it looks like this. I’m happy with the treasure trove of famous songs that are similar to the official “A REALITY TOUR”, but more than that is the reality of witnessing the final scene. I think that there are many people who actually visited the venue, but that impression is transmitted to me. The silhouette illuminated by the light behind, standing with jeans on a T-shirt, talking MC unprecedentedly, repeating “Thank you, thank you, thank you …”, “Jap girls in synthesis …” of “Ashes To Ashes” And the singing voice that puts effort into the lyrics such as “cat from Japan …” of “Ziggy Stardust”. The sound quality is of the official work level, but the reality and presence is because it is recorded by the audience. Although it is a “sound board”, it is a full live album full of brilliance.
Bowie who finished singing the last “Ziggy Stardust” in Japan said “Goodbye” and closed the curtain. It is a miracle recording that has become a treasure all over the world due to its extremely beautiful sound, but each song and each voice engraved on it has the weight of “this is the last in Japan”. It is a 2-disc set that allows you to be present with a miracle sound at the scene that every Japanese wanted to experience. It is a national treasure of Japanese Western music history. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content with the permanent storage press 2CD.

★ A transcendental audience recording of the last live-in-Japan performance of “March 11, 2004: Osaka-jo Hall”. Extra-thick core, too fine details, perfect zero-distance close contact, separate feeling that each instrument, singing voice and chorus are neatly separated … That’s half a step even if you play it side by side with the official live work “A REALITY TOUR” Superb quality that does not yield. At the time of the excavation, it was praised as “there is almost no record of Bowie’s career and audience that exceeds this work”, but even now, the throne has not been shaken at all. A national treasure live album of Japanese Western music history, where you can fully experience the last night of Japan with a miracle sound.

Thank you, thank you, thank you…”を繰り返し、「Ashes To Ashes」の“Jap girls in synthesis…”や「Ziggy Stardust」の“cat from Japan…”
