The very popular “A REALITY TOUR” Oceania leg’s masterpiece “SYDNEY 2004 2ND NIGHT”. Introducing a big set that complements the collection even more deeply as a sequel to that super-masterpiece.
This work contains the best audience recording set of 3 performances “February 17, 2004 Brisbane”, “February 20 Sydney” and “February 23 Adelaide”. Of course, all three performances are different from the press masterpiece “SYDNEY 2004 2ND NIGHT (Wardour-489)”. Let’s zoom in on the Oceania / Asia tour at that time to sort out the situation in that area.

● Oceania leg
・ February 14: Wellington performance
・ February 17: Brisbane performance ← ★ This work DISC 1-2 ★
・ February 20: Sydney performance ← ★ This work DISC 3-4 ★
・ February 21 “SYDNEY 2004 2ND NIGHT”
・ February 23: Adelaide performance ← ★ This work DISC 5-6 ★
・ February 26: Melbourne performance
・ February 27: Melbourne performance
・ March 1: Perth performance
● Asia leg
・ March 4: Singapore performance
・ March 8-11: Japan (3 performances)
・ March 14: Hong Kong performance

This is Bowie’s last Oceania / Asia leg. The performance in Japan is memorable for us, but the Oceania tour is just before that. The press masterpiece “SYDNEY 2004 2ND NIGHT” was the 4th performance, but the 3 performances of this work are a set of “2nd, 3rd, 5th performances” around it.
The sound that depicts these three performances deserves to be called a “sequel to the press masterpiece”. As a matter of fact, this work DISC3-4’s performance in Sydney was not the first appearance, but was introduced as the bonus CDR title “SYDNEY 2004 1ST NIGHT” attached to the press. If you have experienced that bonus, you may have realized that “it’s a little short of the top Sydney 2 performances, but it’s more than the best”, but this work has 3 performances at that level. “SYDNEY 2004 1ST NIGHT” also had much higher sound quality than the online sound source, but all three performances of this work are masterpieces provided by the same researcher collection. If you simply compare by the thickness of the hall sound …
“Thin ← Sydney (DISC 2-3) / Brisbane (DISC 1-2) / Adelaide (DISC 5-6) → Thick”
It’s like that, but even though it’s thick, it doesn’t hide the details or give a sense of distance, and it’s a type that raises the spectacle of dynamism and chorus. This time, only the brilliant brilliant apex work “SYDNEY 2004 2ND NIGHT” was pressed just for excavation, but if it appeared individually, it would be no strange to press any of them.
All three performances are drawn with such a sound, which is different from “SYDNEY 2004 2ND NIGHT”. Actually, “SYDNEY 2004 2ND NIGHT” was the longest / largest set length, but this work has a large repertoire that cannot be heard by itself. Let’s organize based on the top work “SYDNEY 2004 2ND NIGHT”.

● Press board “SYDNEY 2004 2ND NIGHT” and songs (23 songs)
・ 60’s-70’s: White Light / White Heat / The Man Who Sold The World / Life On Mars? / Quicksand (2 takes) / Five Years (2 takes) / Hang On To Yourself (2 takes) / Ziggy Stardust / Rebel Rebel / Fame / A New Career In A New Town / “Heroes” / All The Young Dudes
・ 80’s-90’s: Ashes To Ashes / China Girl / Under Pressure / Hallo Spaceboy / I’m Afraid Of Americans
・ 2000s: Cactus / Sunday / New Killer Star / The Loneliest Guy / Looking For Water / Days
* Note: Songs without special mention are recorded in 3 takes each.

● Daily songs (9 songs) that cannot be heard in “SYDNEY 2004 2ND NIGHT”
・ Jiggy Stardust: Suffragette City (2 takes)
・ Low: Be My Wife / Always Crashing In The Same Car
・ Roger: Fantastic Voyage
・ Heathen: 5:15 The Angels Have Gone / I’ve Been Waiting For You / Heathen (The Rays)
・ Reality: Reality (3 takes) / Try Some Buy Some
* Note: Songs without special mention are recorded one take at a time.

… And it looks like this. The 23 songs that suffer from “SYDNEY 2004 2ND NIGHT” are the axis of the set, and are common to the three performances of this work. Other than that, the delicious songs are daily songs, and you can enjoy 9 songs (12 takes). In particular, the four songs “Always Crashing In The Same Car,” “Fantastic Voyage,” “I’ve Been Waiting For You,” and “Try Some Buy Some” are delicious numbers that haven’t been played in the three performances that came to Japan immediately after.
Australia tour that was still held just before the last memorable visit to Japan. It is a superb live set where you can fully enjoy the collection for 3 performances at once. As a complement to the top press board “SYDNEY 2004 2ND NIGHT”, it is also the best 6-disc set to taste like counting down the last step to Japan. Please enjoy it to your heart’s content.

★ The best audience recording set of “February 17, 2004 Brisbane performance / February 20 Sydney performance / February 23 Adelaide performance”. All three performances are made up of the finest masters provided by overseas Bowie researchers. Especially, the Sydney performance is recorded separately from the masters on the net, and the quality is far superior. The other two performances have a slightly thicker hall sound, but they are also a type that raises the spectacle of dynamism and chorus. It is a delicious 6-disc set that you can fully enjoy with 9 daily numbers that you can not hear in Oceania Leg’s masterpiece “SYDNEY 2004 2ND NIGHT ((Wardour-489))”.

特に「Always Crashing In The Same Car」「Fantastic Voyage」「I’ve Been Waiting For You」「Try Some Buy Some」の4曲は、直後の来日3公演でも演奏していない美味しいナンバーなのです。
