Five works from “VOICES” to “OOH YEAH!” Shine on continuous platinum discs, and Hall & Oates in 1988 ran through the gorgeous 80’s. Introducing the finest soundboard album that summarizes such a golden age.
This work was recorded in “July 9, 1988 Mountain View Performance”. It is the stereo sound board recording. This show has long been known for having the finest soundboards, but this work is a decisive board that sets a new record in length and sound. Before I explain the upgrade points, let’s start with the show position. Let’s look back at the big picture of the last world tour of the 80’s.

● 1988
<< June 10 “OOH YEAH!” Released >>
・ June 11-October 6: North America # 1 (54 performances) ← ★ Coco ★
・ October 13-27: Japan (9 performances)
・ November 15-21: North America # 2 (4 performances)
● 1989
・ February 4 + March 22 + May 5: North America # 3 (3 performances)
・ June 3-July 4: North America # 4 (8 performances)
・ September 2: San Antonio performance
・ November 13-15: North America # 5 (3 performances)

This is the 1988/1989 Hall & Oats. Even though it’s a world tour, it’s actually all North America except Japan. Among them, the mountain view performance of this work is the beginning. It was the 9th performance of “North America # 1”, one month after the album was released.
This work recorded at such a kick-off show is one that renews the highest peak. As mentioned above, sound board recording has been known for a long time, and the highest quality of the mix table direct connection system has been loved. However, unfortunately the recording was interrupted at the end of the show. Although it was about 1 minute left, it was a dragonfly that ended during the performance. This work complements not only such a last, but also the midfield disc division point with the best audience recording of new excavation. It’s a complete album that includes all the shows.
And the point is the audience recording used for complementation. This is really the best. If you have experienced the sound board in the past, you know that it is a completely official grade transcendental quality except for the freshness, but there is no sense of discomfort even if you connect it to the extra-thick and thick sound board. Of course, although the tone is as close as possible by mastering, it is a transcendental master who does not know where the line sound with the core is switched. It is also the first complete board that was born in 2021 when such a new excavation was realized.
What is engraved on such a complete live album is the hit parade + α that dominated the music scene in the 1980s. Let’s organize the set here in order to understand the luxury and the identity of “+ α”.

● 70’s (4 songs)
・ Avandand Ranchonet: She’s Gone
・ Sara Smile: Sara Smile
・ Rock’n Soul: Rich Girl
・ Modern Pop: Wait For Me
● 80’s (18 songs)
・ Modern Voices: Kiss on My List / Everytime You Go Away / You Make My Dreams
・ Private Eyes: I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do)
・ H2O: Maneater
・ From A to ONE: Say It Isn’t So / Adult Education
・ Big Bang Boom: Possession Obsession / Method of Modern Love / Out of Touch
・ Ooh Yeah !: Downtown Life / Everything Your Heart Desires / Talking All Night / Rockability / Missed Opportunity
・ Others: Family Affair / Love Train / Hot Fun In The Summertime

… And it looks like this. While the single songs of the past are lined up in a row, the axis is the latest work “OOH YEAH!” Number at that time. “Everything Your Heart Desires”, which recorded the 3rd place in the United States, was played on the later tour, but “Downtown Life”, “Talking All Night”, “Rockability” and “Missed Opportunity” are limited songs of “OOH YEAH” Tour “. . SLY & THE FAMILY STONE’s “Family Affair” is also a delicious cover because it was in 1988.
Hall & Oats had to end the golden age with the end because it was a darling of the 80’s. It is a masterpiece that you can enjoy the full show, which can be said to be the culmination of that, on the superb sound board that is direct to your brain. Although it is completely official in terms of level, it is an underground super-masterpiece with a vivid vividness that can never be seen in official products. It is born here with the permanent preservation pre-U 2CD.

★ The best stereo sound board recording of “July 9, 1988 Mountain View Performance”. In the conventional version, the sound of the direct connection system was vivid, but the last was a dragonfly, but this work is complemented by a newly excavated audience recording. It is a decisive board that has evolved into a complete version. The audience recording is a super-tight, close-fitting recording that can only be heard on the line, and even if it is called “all sound boards”, it does not feel strange. It is a historic new masterpiece where you can fully experience the golden 80’s show with rare songs such as “Downtown Life”, “Talking All Night”, “Rockability” and “Missed Opportunity”.

She’s Gone
Sara Smile
Rich Girl
Wait For Me
Kiss on My List/Everytime You Go Away/You Make My Dreams
I Can’t Go for That (No Can Do)
・H2O:Maneater
ONE:Say It Isn’t So/Adult Education
Possession Obsession/Method of Modern Love/Out of Touch
・Ooh Yeah!:Downtown Life/Everything Your Heart Desires/Talking All Night/Rockability/Missed Opportunity
Family Affair/Love Train/Hot Fun In The Summertime

全米3位を記録した「Everything Your Heart Desires」こそ後のツアーでも演奏されましたが、「Downtown Life」「Talking All Night」「Rockability」「Missed Opportunity」あたりは“OOH YEAH” Tour”の限定曲。

「Downtown Life」「Talking All Night」「Rockability」「Missed Opportunity」等のレア曲を交えつつ、黄金の80年代を総括したショウを完全体験できる歴史的新名盤です。
