Brilliant Jazz Rock band’s heavyweight, Colosseum’s February 22, 1969, the stage at the Boston Tea Party was almost completely recorded for about 50 minutes with Official-grade stereo sound board recordings. It appears in the highest sound quality board which used recorder’s reel tape directly. (It is said that the band manager at that time recorded on the reel with a desk.) More than 10 years ago, this live wanted to be CDized with the title “Valentyne Live”, but it was a lot of hiss The difference between the previous departure and the sound quality is clear, and you can experience the amazingness of master quality in full. Just as the second work “Valentine Suite” was announced, most of the recorded songs are from the same album. Butty’s Blues, featuring Dick Hecktall – Smith ‘s intense saxophone, decorating the opening, is played over twelve times the album’ s twelve minutes and overwhelms the listener altogether. In The Jersey, The Machine Demands A Sacrifice filled with lively guts, Heisman’s masterpiece drum solo will be featured. January’s Search full of running performance featuring Dave Green Slade’s Emerson Brother’s organ solo adorning the beginning of the suite “Valentyne Suite” makes it possible to listen to the tremendous performance that can be said as the extreme of organ rock. The following February’s Valentyne listens to a classical and moody arrangement that contrasts with the previous frenzy, and an effective saxophone covers here. The great circle is played in medley First album included tracks Beware The Ides Of March. A saxophone, a melodic reminiscent of the “blue shadow”, the part where the organ listens to the masterpiece solos can exactly enjoy the best samples of British rock of this age. ★ It was released in 2004, the great masterpiece live board “FEBRUARY ‘S VALENTYNE” that has been popular for a long time as the Colosseum’s definitive title, thanks to its sound quality and its wonderful content. This time, it is a re-release decision with a new set of “RUISROCK 1970” recorded on August 22, 1970 by Louis Rock Festival with a high sound quality sound board as well.

ブリティッシュ・ジャズ・ロックのバンドの重鎮、コロシアムの1969年2月22日、ボストン・ティー・パーティにおけるステージをオフィシャル級の極上ステレオ･サウンドボード録音で約50分に渡ってほぼ完全収録。録音者のリールテープをダイレクトに使用した最高音質盤にて登場です。（当時のバンドマネージャーが、卓直結でリールに録音したとのことです。）このライブは10年以上前、「Valentyne Live」というタイトルでCD化されていたいましたが、ヒスが多くこもった音だった既発と音質の差は歴然で、マスター･クオリティの凄さを存分に体感することができます。ちょうど、２作目「バレンタイン組曲」の発表時期で、収録曲も同アルバムからが殆どを占めています。オープニングを飾る、Dick Hecktall-Smithの強烈なサックスソロをフューチャーしたButty’s Bluesはアルバムの2倍近い12分に渡って演奏され、聞き手を完全に圧倒します。ジャージーで豪快なノリに満ちたThe Machine Demands A Sacrificeではハイズマンの圧巻のドラムソロがフューチャーされます。組曲「Valentyne Suite」の冒頭を飾る、デイブ・グリーンスレイドのエマーソンばりのオルガンソロをフューチャーした疾走感溢れるJanuary’s Searchでは、まさにオルガンロックの極みとも言える凄まじい演奏を聞く事ができます。続くFebruary’s Valentyneではそれまでの狂乱とは対照的なクラシカルでムーディなアレンジが聴かれ、ここに効果的なサックスが被さります。大団円はメドレーで演奏されるファーストアルバム収録曲Beware The Ides Of March。「青い影」を連想させるメロディにのってサックス、オルガンが圧巻のソロを聴かせるパートはまさにこの時代のブリィティッシュロックの最良のサンプルを存分に堪能することが出来ます。（この曲で4:08でマスターテープに起因するカットがありますがその部分のテープが傷ついてしまったそうです。）、それ以外は、完璧なサウンドで収録。英国ロックファンにとっては、まさにマストと断言できる超必携アイテムの登場です。プレスCD。

★2004年にリリースされ、その音質と内容の素晴らしさから、コロシアムの決定版タイトルとして、長きに渡って親しまれてきた、大傑作ライヴ盤「FEBRUARY’S VALENTYNE」。このたび、1970年8月22日ルイスロック・フェスでのライヴをこちらも高音質サウンドボードで収録した「RUISROCK 1970」との新たなセットで再リリース決定です。
