Bob Dylan With Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers / Red Rocks 1986 1st Night Soundboard / 3CD / Zion Red Rocks Amphitheatre, Morrison, Colorado, USA 26th July 1986 STEREO SBD Play sample : Click Image To Enlarge ボブ・ディランとトム・ペティによる1986年のアメリカ・ツアーはいくつかのPAアウトによるサウンドボードが流出していたのですが、その手の音源の例に漏れず不完全な状態で広まったものも少なくありません。しかしZEP70年代のサウンドボードと違ってディランの場合は基本ワンショーがフルに録音されており、一連の86年サウンドボードの中において不完全な形で出回っている音源すらフルに録音されていることが確定していたのです。それを裏付けてくれた世界中のマニアにとって衝撃のリリースとなったのが「BONNER SPRINGS 1986 SOUNDBOARD」でした。 そのサウンドボードは長いことライブの後半部分しか広まっておらず、そのせいでこの日のスペシャル・オープニングだった「Kansas City」も聞けなかった。ところが同タイトルは肝心のオープニングもしっかりサウンドボードで捉えてみせたということでマニアをアッと言わせることになったのです。また音質の素晴らしさも大きな魅力となっており、ディラン80年代のPAサウンドボードがいかに聞きやすい状態であるかを知らしめる意味でも意義のあるリリースになったと言えるでしょう。 そんな衝撃のリリースも記憶に新しい中、7月24日ボナー・スプリングスの全長版を提供してくれた海外コレクターが再び提供してくれたのは26日のレッドロックス。ボナー・スプリングスの次のショーであったと同時に、これもまた極めて不完全な状態のサウンドボードしか出回っていなかった日でもある。この日がまたライブ終盤だけを収録した状態でしか出回っておらず、過去には別の日の86年サウンドボードを収録した「THERE IS A PLACE OF BROKEN DREAMS」にたった二曲だけオマケとして収められていただけだったことも音源の状態を物語っています。 それだけではありません、過去にトレーダー間に出回っていたバージョンは不完全なだけでなくモノラルにダウングレードした状態で広まっており、そのせいでのこの日のライブ後半におけるディランの熱演ぶりも伝わらないというありさま。 そんな不遇の扱いを受けてきたレッドロックス初日のPAサウンドボードですが、今回も「BONNER SPRINGS 1986 SOUNDBOARD」のコレクターが再びやってくれました。そう、遂に全長版の発掘と相成ったのです。それだけではありません、ボナー・スプリングスのサウンドボードはいくつかの欠損がみられましたが、次のライブということでエンジニアも慣れたのか、今回は録音漏れがなく（笑）何と「全長版」どころか「完全収録」という快挙。おまけに従来出回っていたバージョンとはまるで比較にならない超クリアーなステレオ・サウンド。 ボナー・スプリングスで既に体感されたかと思われますが、ディランのエイティーズPAサウンドボードはとにかくクリアーな音質でドラムを中心としたステレオ感もしっかりある。さすがにマルチトラックのような緻密なステレオとは事情が違いますが、それでもこのクリアーさは実に素晴らしい。さらにはディラン・パート、ペティのパートそれぞの収録漏れがない見事なショー完全収録とくれば、もうマニアでなくとも自信を持って推せるクオリティ。 ボナー・スプリングスが「Kansas City」から幕を開ける余裕を見せつけたショーであるとすれば、この日はディランの歌が実に力強い。この日は「Like A Rolling ...
