Headless, the highest jazz collector’s label, has reissued the valuable titles of handmade labels for collectors, which were distributed only in a small part, from the official master who took over. Hawk is here. Rare titles are re-appearing at affordable prices with reissue emblems and new back jackets.

Cannonball Adderley Quintet’s sound board live sound source. Julian, the “Cannonball” who supported Miles Davis in the late 50’s, and his younger brother Nat Adderley’s tag team. The soul jazz’s most famous song “Work Song”, which was composed by Nat Adderley and played by the Batafield Blues band and became familiar to rock fans, was also performed well. Joe Zawinul, who later formed the Weather Report with Wayne Shorter, as well as Joseph Zawinul on the piano. Just before joining Miles’ Bitches Brew session, considering the timing. Also pay attention to Zawinul’s piano, which is one of the factors that make up the historic blockbuster “Bitches Brew”. By the way, the pianist will change to George Duke after Zawinul leaves. キャノンボール・アダレイ・クインテットのサウンドボード・ライヴ音源です。50年代後期マイルス・デイヴィスを支えた“キャノンボール”ことジュリアンと、弟のナット・アダレイのタッグ。ナット・アダレイ作曲でバタフィールド・ブルース・バンドの演奏でロック・ファンにもお馴染みとなった、ソウル・ジャズ屈指の名曲『ワーク・ソング』も快演。ピアノのジョセフ・ザヴィヌルはもちろん後にウェイン・ショーターとウェザーリポートを結成するジョー・ザヴィヌルのこと。時期を考えるとマイルスの『ビッチェズ・ブリュー』のセッションに参加しする直前。歴史的大作『ビッチェズ・ブリュー』を構成する一因となるザヴィヌルのピアノにも注目です。因みにピアニストはこの後ザヴィヌルが抜けジョージ・デュークへと変わります。ジャズ・ロックのピアニストを育てたと言えるクインテットの演奏は必聴です。
