Mr. “Strongest” captured the simultaneous release of the sister work “OSAKA 2023 (Uxbridge 1859)” with an amazing tight sound, but in Nagoya he has made a different name recording. A closed room sound, so to speak. “Zepp Nagoya” which became the site is a club scale completely different from Osaka Castle Hall, but its characteristics are also appearing in the sound. In other words, both are “direct sounds that do not feel distance”, but while “OSAKA 2023” had a tight feeling that did not make you feel the hall noise due to the recording artist’s technology, this is a physical close sound. I feel it. In other words, there is a sense of distance that “it is right there” and “it is right in front of you”.
What’s even more delicious is the sense of intimacy that comes from the size of the club. Only hardcore fans gather in a small venue, and their clapping and chorus are hot. 【密室の間近感が美味しいリアル録音】
以上、全4公演。本作の大阪公演は、速報『SENDAI 2023』に続く2公演目でした。今回は日本各地の名録音家からオリジナル・マスターをご提供頂いたのですが、その中でも大阪と名古屋は同一人物によるコレクション。そう、当店お馴染みの“西日本最強テーパー”氏による業物なのです。
同時リリースの姉妹作『OSAKA 2023(Uxbridge 1859)』を驚異のタイト・サウンドで捉えた“最強”氏ですが、名古屋ではまた趣の異なる名録音に仕上げてきました。言うなれば、密室サウンド。現場となった“Zepp Nagoya”は大阪城ホールとはまったく異なるクラブ規模なわけですが、その特性がサウンドにも現れている。どちらも言葉にすれば「距離を感じないダイレクト・サウンド」となるわけですが、『OSAKA 2023』が録音家の技術によってホール鳴りを感じさせないタイト感だったのに対し、こちらは物理的な近さを感じるのです。言い換えますと「すぐそこ」「目の前にいる」という距離感があるわけです。
さらに美味しいのが、クラブ規模だからこその親密感。狭い会場に集っているのは筋金入りのファンばかりで、その手拍子や合唱が熱い。さすがにアダムスのファンだけに絶叫まみれで聴きづらくなったりはしませんが、名曲群の旨みを熟知しているからこそのシンクロ感が美しく、高揚感を底上げするような熱気が過剰中に充満しているのです。この感動的な現場感はサウンドボードや大会場オーディエンスでは絶対に味わえない、クラブ録音だからこその醍醐味。本作は、その肌感覚が心を躍らせるリアル・アルバムでもあるのです。

……と、このようになっています。曲数的にはやや少なめではありますが、他公演では演奏しなかった2曲が美味しい。特に「Flying」。今回の全レパートリーの中でも演奏回数がもっとも少ない一番のレア曲。名古屋公演は会場ムードもコアですが、セットもそれに相応しいものだったわけです。
パワフル・サウンドと勢いで押しまくった『SENDAI 2023』、超タイト・サウンドで2023年来日を代表する『OSAKA 2023』、オーディエンスだからこその美音で最大曲数が楽しめる『BUDOKAN 2023』。そして、密室サウンドでプライベート感たっぷりの感動を振り撒く本作……まさに四者四様の大傑作がそろった2023年の来日コレクションです。
来日全公演のオーディエンス録音が揃うだけならそれほど珍しくありませんが、ほどんどのケースではどの公演もほとんどであったり、逆にクオリティ差が付きすぎてお薦めしづらい物が混じったりするもの。ところが、今回はどれ1本とっても素晴らしく、どの作品も大きく異なる感動に満ちている。ぜひコンプリートしていただいたい、類い希なる4連作の誕生です。
