From 1978 US tour, Madison’s performance on July 14 was recorded as a sound board. Because Genesis “There are three people left” tour, drums are not Phil Collins, but Chuck Burgi is in charge. More than anything, the ensemble of this day is the highest level in the history of the band, and it is a staggering thing to the super fast playing a lot. First of all, “Earth Dance” starting from Chuck ‘s Norinori’ s intro, Peter and Percy ‘s ad lib battle in the second half Latin beat, succession of Goodsool’ s ultra high speed 32 – beat phrase in “Access To Data” break, “The Poke “The goose – skin throat arpeggio in the intro,” Kuro Moon “is the overwhelming solo · battle that draws in the late 6/8 time signature and so on. 1978年USツアーより、7月14日のマディソン公演をサウンドボード収録。ジェネシスが「そして3人が残った」ツアーの為、ドラムはフィル・コリンズではなく、チャック・バーギが担当。何より、この日のアンサンブルはバンド史上最高と云えるレベルで、超絶高速プレイの数々にはぶっ飛びもの。まずチャックのノリノリのイントロから始まる”Earth Dance”、後半のラテン・ビートでのピーターとパーシーのアドリブ合戦、”Access To Data”ブレイクでのグッドソールの超高速32ビート・フレーズの連発、”The Poke”のイントロでの鳥肌モノのアルペジオ、”Black Moon”の後半の6/8拍子で展開する鬼気迫る ソロ・バトル等その全てが圧倒的。また、この日別格に光っている凄まじいプレイ連発のグッドソールですが、残念な事に腱鞘炎のため7月下旬にリタイア。在籍わずか1ヶ月間というレアな期間の今回の音源は、ファンには嬉しいかぎり。音質、演奏内容、レア度全てが揃った、これ以上はないジャズ・ロック最高峰の究極のアイテム。
