The full version of the Nagoya performance from the “TRUE CONFESSIONS TOUR” Japan performance led by Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers by Bob Dylan is now available. This is the first time that the Nagoya performance has been commercialized since the performance in Japan in 1986. An item called “FINAL NIGHTS IN JAPAN 1986” has been released, but it is a coupling with the Tokyo performance, and the main performance is in Tokyo, and the precious Nagoya performance contains only a few songs in the latter half.
This full version of this release is literally a complete version of Bob Dylan’s solo part, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers’ part, and even Dylan’s speech uncut. The master used for the main is a high-quality audience sound source that is “almost” completely recorded, and has undergone a major remastering upon release. You can see the detailed work such as correcting the noise caused by the audience as much as possible and adjusting the fluctuation of the volume. And although there were some missing parts due to the tape change, which was mentioned above as the “almost” complete version, the true complete version was completed by supplementing it from another incomplete same-day audience sound source. The biggest omission, “Lonesome Town,” was restored for the first few tens of seconds. Furthermore, although it is not in the song, the introduction of the members before “Like a Rolling Stone”, which was cut off in the middle, has been carefully restored. The reason why I repaired the speech between songs is that Dylan at this concert was in a very good mood, and that situation is often seen in the speech. The service to Japanese fans and the respect for Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers are very well communicated. From that point of view, it is very meaningful to relive this concert in full, including speeches from the beginning. It’s very unthinkable from the current Dylan, but everywhere, the venue is excited with “Domo Domo, Domo!”. In addition, the fact that Tom Petty also said “Domo Domo!” Is also funny, and the atmosphere of the venue is conveyed in a friendly atmosphere. Despite the relaxed atmosphere, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers were at their peak at the time, and the performance was outstanding. Dylan also introduces the band in a euphoric manner. The part where Dylan is speaking for more than 1 minute is intentionally separated from the track, and the content is described inside the jacket. The volume is about 150 minutes, but the moment you open the disc and insert the disc into the player, the tension and excitement begins, and there are even Japan-only service songs “Sukiyaki (Let’s walk upwards)” and “Door of Heaven”. In the meantime dream. There is no chance to go to the fridge to get beer. By the way, “Like the Blues of Thumb Sam” was played on this tour only for this Nagoya performance.

ボブ・ディランがトム・ペティ&ザ・ハートブレイカーズを率いて行った“TRUE CONFESSIONS TOUR”日本公演から名古屋公演の完全版が登場です。この1986年来日公演から名古屋公演が商品化されるのは初めてです。“FINAL NIGHTS IN JAPAN 1986”というアイテムがリリースされていますが、そちらは東京公演とのカップリングで、メインは東京公演となっており貴重な名古屋公演は後半の数曲しか収録されていません。
今回リリースのこの完全版はボブ・ディランのソロ・パートやトム・ペティ&ザ・ハートブレイカーズのパート、そしてディランのスピーチまでノーカットで納めた文字通りの完全版です。メインに使われているマスターは“ほぼ”完全収録された高音質オーディエンス音源で、リリースにあたって大幅なリマスタリングが行われています。オーディエンスによるノイズが可能な限り修正され、ボリュームの揺らぎも調整されるなど細かな仕事が伺えます。そして“ほぼ”完全版と前述した点、テープ・チェンジによる欠落部分が数箇所ありましたが、別の不完全な同日オーディエンス音源より補ったことで本当の完全版が完成したのです。一番大きな欠落だった『ロンサム・タウン』の冒頭数十秒も修復。更には曲中ではありませんが、途中で切れていた『ライク・ア・ローリング・ストーン』前のメンバー紹介まで丁寧に修復されています。なぜそんな曲間のスピーチまで補修したかというと、このコンサートのディランはとても上機嫌で、その様子がスピーチによく出ているから。日本のファンに対するサービス心、そしてトム・ペティとハートブレイカーズに対する敬意が非常によく伝わってきます。そう言った観点からしてもこのコンサートは最初からスピーチも含めてフルで追体験することに大きな意味があります。現在のディランからはとても考えられない事ですが、随所随所で「どーもどーも、どーも！」と会場を沸かせています。さらに、それになぞらえトム・ペティまで「どーもどーも！」と言っている点も微笑ましく、和気あいあいとした会場の雰囲気が伝わってきます。リラックスした雰囲気ながらも当時トム・ペティ&ザ・ハートブレイカーズは絶頂期にあり、演奏は抜群の出来。ディランも陶酔した様子でバンドを紹介しています。ディランが1分以上スピーチしている個所はあえてトラックを区切ってあり、更にその内容はジャケ内側に記載されています。約150分のボリュームですが、開封しディスクをプレイヤーに入れる瞬間から緊張感とワクワク感は始まり、日本オンリーのサービス曲『スキヤキ（上を向いて歩こう）』、そして『天国の扉』まであっという間の夢の中。冷蔵庫にビールを取りに行く隙も与えられません。因みに『親指サムのブルースの様に』はこのツアーで演奏されたのはこの名古屋公演のみの激レアトラック。
