Bob Dylan had a big topic of celebrating his 80th birthday last month, but the current situation is that items that enthusiasts will be pleased with have not been released. So this time, I will release about two titles of his vintage sound source. The first was a session in 1969 with country master Johnny Cash in Nashville. Only one duet of “Girl From The North Country”, which was the beginning of the album “NASHVILLE SKYLINE”, was released at that time from the session that was held for two days. However, it was the various items of the LP era, such as “THE DYLAN CASH SESSION”, that revealed the fact that songs were actually recorded enough to make one album.
Furthermore, when the details of Dylan’s recording became clear in recent years, the session with Cash was originally set up in the middle of the recording for “NASHVILLE SKYLINE”, and a large number of songs were recorded in two days. It becomes clear. If that happens, I’d like to hear more songs … Yes, enthusiasts all over the world have hoped, but there is no sign of being discovered.

It was probably “TRAVELIN’THRU” released 50 years after the session in Nashville that lowered the drinking of such enthusiasts. The session with Cash has finally been released, and there are plenty of takes and songs that first appeared … Especially the session part with Cash has never been released on past LPs and CDs, and even enthusiasts have never heard of it. I was concentrating on. As a result, the performance and trial and error that are less complete than the final take that was heard in the past items will be highlighted, and in the previous items, the take that was heard in monaural will be heard in stereo and with the highest sound quality. Don’t you feel like it? The ironic result was that it caused another dissatisfaction.
Fortunately, with the release of the annual copyright protection title “50TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION 1969” to Dylan Mania in 2019, the rest of the takes are finally released in stereo and the highest sound quality. It was good, but this is not straightforward. Yes, “50TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION” was a super-limited release only in a part of Europe, and it was far from general distribution. The 1970 version of “50TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION” released at the end of last year had a big topic of participation of George Harrison, so the local release became a big boo, and it became the first worldwide distribution version “1970” in the history of the series. Released, but it’s an exception in the exception.
As for the 1969 version, there are only European-only releases as before, which makes the cache session released in two parts, and one is extremely difficult to obtain, which is confusing. I fell into a situation.

Therefore, this time, we will combine the sessions with the cache that were released separately for those two titles into one, and arrange them in the order in which they were recorded and release them in a complete form. As you can see from this song, the number of takes is missing in some songs. Those are the levels of take that stumbled upon the start, and even the two titles mentioned above were judged not to need to be released. Therefore, these two titles are currently complete.
Of course, there is no trick just to put it together. Actually, there is a problem that the volume level of the “TRAVELIN’THRU” recording take is lower than that of “50TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION 1969”. By adjusting this for this recording, you can listen to the entire session without any discomfort. In addition, “Girl From The North Country” (this is Take 3) recorded in “NASHVILLE SKYLINE”, which was the only sound source released at the time of 1969, which was first mentioned, is naturally covered.
And since all the highly complete takes were gathered only for “50TH ANNIVERSARY COLLECTION 1969”, there are many enthusiasts who hear the best stereo and sound quality version of each take that they have been accustomed to for a long time for the first time in this release. So then. The monaural version heard on the existing items also matched the country sound of Nashville, but the stereo recording is still striking.

The first day of the session started with “One Too Many Mornings”, but here the shooting team for Johnny Cash’s document “THE MAN AND HIS MUSIC” was present (because it was there, before the official recording started. It surprised enthusiasts all over the world that it turned out that even the rehearsal pattern was recorded.
More than that, you can see that the number of takes was at least different for each of “That’s All Right Mama”, which is known as Presley’s debut song in “Matchbox”, which is familiar even on the Beatles cover. The biggest reason for such a difference is that Dylan and Cash have tried and errored to find the key to harmonize.
In addition, the sound is perfect because the back was a talented musician in Nashville such as Carl Perkins. Despite the fact that so many songs were recorded on top of that, it seems that the reason why only one song was released at that time was that Dylan and Cash had no merit in releasing a joint album for each other.
That’s why it’s a session of Dylan and Cash that has been loved by enthusiasts on existing LPs and CDs, but the country sound of Nashville, which is once again summarized with the best stereo sound quality, is a wonderful word, and “Ring Of Fire” A famous song such as “I Walk The Line” is sung by two people. The whole picture of a phantom collaboration by two American musicians, although the genres are different. Please immerse yourself in the duet of the two while doing a little bit at home!
