オーストラリアにありながら、ニューキャッスルという土地で3月24日に行われたライブを収録。78年と同様に日本公演から引き続いて行われたオーストラリア公演の中でも、当時マニアを驚かせたのかこの日のライブでした。この日の二曲目で演奏されたのは何と「Chimes Of Freedom」。60年代の名曲でありながら、元々ライブ演奏の機会が極めて低いレア・ナンバーが日本公演から十日後に演奏されたことは当時、日本のマニアに「なんで演奏してくれなかったんだ？」と悔しい思いを味わったものです。この一曲だけでも聴く価値のあるレア音源なのですが、ライブ終盤でもこの時期のレギュラーだった「Love Sick」の代わりに同じアルバム「TIME OUT OF MIND」のクロージングを飾った大作「Highlands」が演奏されるというサプライズもありました。これもマニアであれば日本でも演奏してほしかった曲のはずで、この日を含めて都合三回しか演奏されなかったレア・ナンバーでした。それに音質がまた非常に素晴らしいオーディエンス録音であり、これほどのクリアネスを誇る優良音源が当時リリースされなかったのは不思議でもあります。ですが、この日の演奏全体はそんなに良くありません（苦笑）。特に「Tell Me That It Isn’t True」や「Forever Young」は今回のフォーラムやボーナスに収録された演奏と聴き比べると雲泥の差。そんな演奏の違いを聴き比べるのも一興でしょう。改めて2001年日本公演の質の高さを再確認できるレア音源が初回リリース分にのみ付属します。
