The next show in Washington was Portland on May 31st. Although the set list did not change on this day, the opening was a surprise that made enthusiasts all over the world turbulent.
Telecasters used by non-band members are set on the stage, and when the opening number “Watching The River Flow” starts, none other than Dylan puts the telecaster on his shoulder, so the venue is noisy. From the sound source released this time, you can clearly see how the venue is screaming.
And he started playing the lead guitar for the first time in a long time. Yes, that “Dylan clause” explodes. This audience recording is also due to the same taper as Washington, which was released at the same time, but it also has excellent sound quality, so the phrase Dylan played after a long time is perfect.
However … That’s not the case with wholesalers (laughs). After playing the lead guitar for almost 3 minutes, Dylan lowers the telecaster and moves on to the usual piano. It is also interesting that the surprising presence of the development is transmitted perfectly.
However, since the performance included the guitar part, “Watching The River Flow” on that day was a longer performance than usual.

However, Dylan himself probably enjoyed playing the guitar a little in the middle of the performance. After this, when the performance of “False Prophet” approaches the second half, I lower the telecaster again and start playing the lead guitar (I like the cheers of “Wow” here!), But it’s a blues song, so Dylan The play of is also clear.

The sound image of this day was not as balanced as Dylan’s singing voice as in Washington, but the sound image of the entire performance was still at the highest level. This is also a quality that can be released on a press CD without any price.
Because it is in such a recording state that you can listen with peace of mind, you can clearly see that Dylan has the engine fully open even after the previous surprise opening. The impact of playing the guitar on the stage after a long time was so strong that the topics were concentrated in the first half of the live, but Dylan was in great shape on this day as well.

ワシントンの次のショーは5月31日のポートランドでした。この日もセットリストには変化がなかったものの、オープニングは世界中のマニアを騒然とさせたサプライズが起こったのです。
ステージにはバンドメンバー以外が使うテレキャスターがセッティングされており、オープニングナンバーの「Watching The River Flow」が始まると、他ならぬディランがそのテレキャスターを肩に下げたものだから会場は騒然。今回リリースされる音源からも、会場がどよめく様子がはっきりと伝わってきます。
そして彼は久しぶりにリードギターを弾き始める。そう、あの「ディラン節」が炸裂しまくり。こちらのオーディエンス録音も同時リリースのワシントンと同じテーパーによるものなのですが、これまた素晴らしい音質ですので、久々にディランの弾いたフレーズもばっちり。
ところが…そうは問屋が卸さない（笑）。3分近くリードギターを弾きまくったディランはテレキャスターを下ろし、いつものピアノへと移ります。その展開に驚く臨場感がこれまたばっちり伝わってくるのも面白い。
しかしギターパート込みの演奏となりましたので、この日の「Watching The River Flow」はいつもより長い演奏となったのでした。

とはいえディラン自身も演奏の途中で少しギターを弾いたのが楽しかったのでしょう。この後も「False Prophet」の演奏が後半に差し掛かると再びテレキャスターを下げてリードギターを弾き始める（ここで「ワーッ」と歓声が沸くのがイイ！）のですが、ブルースな曲調ですのでディランのプレイも冴えわたる。

この日の音源はワシントンほどディランの歌声の音像が抜きんでたバランスではないのですが、それでも演奏全体の音像は非常にオンな極上レベル。これもまた掛け値なしにプレスCDでリリースされてもおかしくないクオリティ。
そんな安心して聞きこめる録音状態ですので、先のサプライズ・オープニングの後もディランはエンジン全開であることがよーく分かる。久々にステージでギターを弾いてくれたインパクトが強すぎてライブ前半にトピックが集中してしまいましたが、この日もディランは絶好調。
そしてディランは現在進行中のツアーでも時折オープニングでギターを弾いており、この「ちょこっとリードギター」モードは続く気配をみせています。そんな分岐点となった話題のギター・ステージを最高の音質＆最速でお届け！
