Complete recording of the St. Petersburg performance on October 30th from the 1978 “52ND STREET” tour with an ultra-high-quality audience recording approaching the sound board. It is a famous sound source from the past, and it is a famous recording board that was released on the press CD as “HALLOWEEN EVE NIGHT” from that STTP label. However, if you own that STTP board, you will understand that it is disappointing from the beginning, such as terrible white noise at the beginning 2 minutes and blanks due to defects around 1 minute 10 seconds of The Stranger. It was a content that invited a feeling. Even so, the reason why it was very popular as a representative title of the “52ND STREET” tour was the goodness and closeness of the sound quality, and in that sense it was a really wasteful title. Moreover, this original sound source had a serious problem, which was played with another music unrelated to Billy by transferring the tape to the right channel! The main sound is as clear as line recording, so if you play it through speakers, you won’t know that much, but once you listen to it with headphones and touch the existence of another music on the right, this is something other than stress. none. What’s more, in the first half of the pitch, there are many places where the pitch gets faster at random, and the last two songs on Disc 2, Get It Right the First Time and Souvenir, are so random and fast that you can’t even hear them. It was said that it was released in, but this edition was released 23 years later. (“HALLOWEEN EVE NIGHT” was released in 1998) Naturally, all of those goals and shortcomings have been fixed. The problem is solved by mitigating the noise and cut at the beginning and monauralizing the sound cover of the left channel that can be heard throughout the biggest problem. Regarding the pitch, Disc1 is randomly fast throughout, so fix it as much as possible. The last two songs mentioned above are so insanely random and fast that I can’t stand listening to them, so I modified them as much as possible. Therefore, the world’s best “ST. PETERSBURG 1978” is finished with contents that can be released proudly. A masterpiece where you can enjoy the heyday of Billy’s live performance for two hours. This is recommended! !!

1978年「52ND STREET」ツアーより10月30日のセントピーターズバーグ公演をサウンドボードに迫る超高音質オーディエンス録音で完全収録。過去より有名な音源で、あのSTTPレーベルからも「HALLOWEEN EVE NIGHT」としてプレスCDでリリースされていたほどの名録音盤。ただし、あのSTTP盤をご所有の方ならお分かりになられると思いますが、冒頭2分目で凄まじいホワイトノイズ、そしてThe Strangerの1分10秒目付近では欠損による空白が目立つなど、冒頭からがっかり感を誘う内容ではありました。それでも「52ND STREET」ツアーを代表するタイトルとして非常にポピュラーだったわけは何といってもその音質の良さ・近さであり、そういった意味でも実に勿体ないタイトルではありました。更にこの元音源は深刻な問題を抱えており、それは右チャンネルにテープの転写によってビリーと関係ない別の音楽と流れていました！メインの音がライン録音のようにクリアーですので、スピーカーで鳴らせばそこまでわからないのですが、ヘッドホンで聴いて、一度右の別音楽の存在に触れてしまうとこれはもうストレス以外なにものでもなし。しかも、おまけにピッチが前半、ランダムに速くなる箇所が多発、更にはディスク２の最後の2曲 Get It Right the First Timeと Souvenir は聞くに堪えないほどのめちゃくちゃにランダムに速く、よくこれでプレスでリリースしたなという内容でしたが、本盤はそれより23年後のリリース。（「HALLOWEEN EVE NIGHT」は98年のリリース）当然、それらの失点・欠点を全て修正。冒頭のノイズやカットを緩和し、最大の問題の全体を通して聞こえる左チャンネルの音被りを、モノラル化することで問題解決。ピッチに関してはDisc1は全体を通してランダムに速いのでなるべく修正。前述のラスト2曲は聞くに堪えないほどのめちゃくちゃにランダムに速いのでなるべく修正しました。よって、これなら堂々とリリースできる内容に仕上がった、世界最良の「ST. PETERSBURG 1978」。若きビリーの絶頂期ライヴを2時間に渡って楽しめる最高傑作。これはお勧めです！！
