This year’s Billy Joel performs at least once a month. The latest performance was held in Atlanta on November 11th. It is customary to use a large venue to attract customers with its small number of performances, but this time it was held at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta.
Therefore, the sound source delivered this time was also an audience recording at a large venue, but the fact that it is a state-of-the-art stadium that has only been open for less than five years has paid off, and the acoustics are outstanding. In fact, it is unbelievable that the audience recording this time was recorded at the stadium, and the sound image of the masterpiece is unbelievable, and it can be said that it is a press board level.

The performance content of the latest Atlanta performance, which is heard by such a literally superb audience, is also wonderful. A perfect performance for the first time with a set list summarized in the recent standard repertoire.
Even so, the mini “GLASS HOUSES” corner of “All For Leyna” and “Sometimes A Fantasy” in the middle of the live was attractive, and as a result, the entire set list on this day became a set list that can be called “GLASS HOUSES” album night. That’s another big attraction.
It’s an album full of nostalgia for us Japanese, but the performance of “All For Leyna” in particular is wonderful, and we are reminded that it is a good song.

However, an even bigger highlight was waiting for us on this day, and it happened at “The River Of Dreams”. It is an annual event every night that a cover song starts in between this song, but here in Atlanta Ike & Tina Turner’s “River Deep-Mountain High”. In other words, a stylish development that makes you want to call it a “River” connection.
The lead vocalist for the same song is the percussionist Crystal Tarifero. You will hear a shout with plenty of Tina feeling that makes you want to stick with it.
What’s more, the performance is perfect, and it’s a short song from the 1960s, so it would be nice to have a full chorus (it ends with two choruses). From there, the cover song corner, which was so splendid that it was awkward to return to “The River Of Dreams”, was also captured with the highest sound quality.
Such an extremely rare scene, and a complete set list throughout. Above all, please enjoy the latest stage with perfect sound quality that can be asserted as the top among the high-level audience group produced from this year’s tour!

最低でも月に一回はライブを行っている今年のビリー・ジョエル。その最新公演は11月11日のアトランタで行われました。その少ない公演数で集客を得るべく大会場を使うのが恒例化していますが、今回はアトランタにあるメルセデス・ベンツ・スタジアムで行われたのです。
よって今回届けられた音源も大会場でのオーディエンス録音となった訳ですが、まだオープンして5年足らずという最新鋭のスタジアムということが功を功を奏して音響が抜群。実際、今回のオーディエンス録音はスタジアムでの録音であることが信じがたいほど圧巻の音像でして、それは掛け値なしにプレス盤レベルと言っていいほど。

そんな文字通りの極上オーディエンスで聞かれる最新アトランタ公演は演奏内容も素晴らしい。ここ最近のスタンダード・レパートリーでまとめられたセットリストがサクサク進む完璧な演奏ぶり。
そうした中でもライブ中盤における「All For Leyna」と「Sometimes A Fantasy」というプチ「GLASS HOUSES」コーナーは魅力的で、結果としてこの日はセットリスト全体を通して「GLASS HOUSES」アルバム・ナイトと呼べるセットリストになったのがまた大きな魅力でしょう。
我々日本人にとっても懐かしさいっぱいなアルバムですが、特に「All For Leyna」の演奏は素晴らしい出来栄えで、改めてイイ曲なのだと思い知らされることしきり。

ところがこの日はさらに大きな目玉となる場面が待ち構えており、それは「The River Of Dreams」で起きたのでした。この曲の合間にカバー曲が始まるのは毎晩の恒例行事ですが、ここアトランタで披露されたのはアイク＆ティナ・ターナーの「River Deep-Mountain High」。つまり「River」つながりとでも呼びたくなる洒落た展開。
同曲でリードボーカルをとったのはパーカッションのクリスタル・タリフェロなのですが、ちょっと物真似が入ってる？と突っ込みたくなるほどティナ感たっぷりのシャウトが聞かれます。
おまけに演奏がまた完璧で、どうせ尺の短い1960年代の曲なのだからフルコーラスでやってしまえばいいのに（2コーラスで終わります）と思えるほど見事な演奏ぶり。そこから「The River Of Dreams」に戻るのが気まずく映ってしまうほど見事なカバー曲コーナーもまた最高の音質で捉えてくれました。
こうした極めてレアな場面、そして全体を通しての充実したセットリスト。何より今年のツアーから生み出されたハイレベル・オーディエンス群の中でも掛け値なしにトップと断言できる完璧な音質で最新ステージを心ゆくまでお楽しみください！
