AEROSMITH in the GEFFEN era, who achieved a revival drama that remains in rock history and climbed to the largest monster band in the scene. Introducing a 2-disc set that reproduces the discontinued official video with the highest quality ever.
The official videos contained in this work are “BIG ONES YOU CAN LOOK AT”, “3X5 PERMANENT VACATION”, and “THINGS THAT GO PUMP IN THE NIGHT”. All of them are video software featuring the blockbuster clips of the GEFFEN era, and the treasures that have not been made into official DVDs until now. Exquisitely reproduced from the highest peak version of the Japanese version of the laser disc. It is a set of 2 DVDs. It is natural that the original is only official work and it is completely official grade quality, and in our shop, the series that entrusts the laser disc of the mint board to an overseas specialized manufacturer and makes it a DVD is very popular. Many of you may know the quality that sometimes surpasses even the real official DVD in many masterpieces. This work is also the latest bullet. Let’s introduce each of the three works.

… And it looks like this. There is no new version of Classics such as “Walk This Way” with RUN-DMC and “Dream On” commemorating the 10th anniversary of MTV, but other new song clips cover all songs. In addition to the four albums, the new songs “Blind Man” and “Walk On Water” for the best compilation album are also included, and the song “Deuces Are Wild” provided by the soundtrack is edited in the making scene (described later) of this work. Thorough recording with a unique clip. It was a decisive work that “in the GEFFEN era, this one is OK”. It is still very popular because it is such a super masterpiece, but for some reason the official DVD has not been realized. At one point, video-generated South American DVDs were on the market, but now even that is the premier price. It is a very popular work that costs 100,000 yen lightly if it is new.
This work is an elaborate digitization of such a super masterpiece from the Japanese version LD. I was particular about the Japanese version LD because it has excellent quality above all, but another point is Japanese subtitles. Actually, in this video work, shooting and recording making, valuable TV appearance scenes, etc. are inserted between clips. There are lively conversations and comments from bands, directors and performers (of course, teenagers Liv Tyler and Alicia Silverstone also appeared!). In this work, each word can be vividly understood by Japanese subtitles.
Actually, every song can be seen on DISC 1’s “BIG ONES YOU CAN LOOK AT”, but there is a reason why it was made into a DVD. One is the scene inserted before and after the clip. Various scenes are inserted between the opening, ending, and songs, but these are different from “BIG ONES YOU CAN LOOK AT”.
And the other is “What It Takes” from “THINGS THAT GO PUMP IN THE NIGHT”. There are two types of clips for this song, and DISC 1 contained only the “recording landscape version”. Here, the “normal version” played at the bar is also recorded.
AEROSMITH’s golden age stabbed in the 70’s, but it was definitely the GEFFEN era that conquered the entire earth and reigned as the biggest “king” in the rock world. This work is an Olympic-class super entertainment masterpiece that covers the video clips that symbolize such a “champion era” with the highest quality in history. Many of you may have been frustrated by the fact that such an absolute masterpiece has not yet been made into an official DVD. A 2-disc set that heals the dryness. そんな本作に収められている公式映像は『BIG ONES YOU CAN LOOK AT』『3X5 PERMANENT VACATION』『THINGS THAT GO PUMP IN THE NIGHT』の３作。いずれもGEFFEN時代の大ヒット・クリップを特集した映像ソフトであり、現在に至るまで公式DVD化が実現していない秘宝たち。その最高峰版である日本盤レーザーディスクから精緻に復刻。DVD化した２枚組なのです。元が公式作品だけに完全オフィシャル級クオリティなのは当然ですし、当店ではミント盤のレーザーディスクを海外の専門メーカーに委託してDVD化するシリーズが大好評。時に本物の公式DVDさえも凌駕してしまうクオリティは、数々の名作群でご存知の方も多いのではないでしょうか。本作は、その最新弾でもある。それでは３作をそれぞれご紹介していきましょう。
【DISC 1：BIG ONES YOU CAN LOOK AT】
DISC 1は本作の目玉となる名作『BIG ONES YOU CAN LOOK AT』。ベスト盤『BIG ONES』にちなんだタイトルからご想像いただけると思いますが、この映像作はGEFFEN時代のクリップを集成した「目で観るベスト・アルバム」。GUNS N’ ROSESでいうところの『WELCOME TO THE VIDEOS』に相当する一大決定盤です。何よりも強力なのは、その網羅感。ちょっと整理してみましょう。

……と、このようになっています。RUN-DMCとの「Walk This Way」やMTV10周年記念の「Dream On」など、クラシックスの新バージョンの類はありませんが、それ以外の新曲系クリップは全曲を網羅。４枚のアルバムだけでなく、ベスト盤用の新曲だった「Blind Man」「Walk On Water」も収録し、サントラ提供曲「Deuces Are Wild」に至っては本作のメイキング・シーン（後述）で編まれた独自クリップで収録する徹底ぶり。まさに「GEFFEN時代はコレ１枚でOK」という決定作でした。それだけの超名作だけに現在でも大人気なのですが、なぜか公式DVD化が実現していない。一時はビデオ起こしの南米産DVDが出回った事もありますが、現在ではそれでさえプレミア価格。新品だと軽く十数万円は付くという超人気作なのです。
本作は、そんな超名作を日本盤LDから精緻にデジタル化したもの。日本盤LDにこだわったのは何よりもクオリティに優れているからですが、もう１つのポイントは日本語字幕。実は、この映像作はクリップの合間に撮影やレコーディングのメイキング、貴重なTV出演シーンなどが挿入されている。そこではバンドや監督、出演者達（もちろん十代だったリヴ・タイラーやアリシア・シルヴァーストーンも登場！）の生々しい会話やコメントがある。本作は、そうした一言一言も日本語字幕によってビビッドに理解できるのです。
【DISC 2：3X5 PERMANENT VACATION／THINGS THAT GO PUMP IN THE NIGHT】
「コレ１枚でOK」と書いておいてなんですが、GEFFEN時代のクリップ集は他にも２作リリースされていました。それが『3X5 PERMANENT VACATION』と『THINGS THAT GO PUMP IN THE NIGHT』です。こちらもタイトルからご想像いただけると思いますが、前者は『PERMANENT VACATION』時代のクリップ（３曲）、後者は『PUNP』時代のクリップ（３曲・４テイク）を集成した映像作品でした。本作では、DISC 1と同様に日本盤レーザーディスクからDVD化。史上最高峰クオリティで１枚のディスクに収録しています。
実のところ、どの曲もDISC 1の『BIG ONES YOU CAN LOOK AT』で観られるわけですが、わざわざDVD化したのにもワケがある。１つはクリップの前後に差し込まれたシーン。オープニングやエンディング、曲間にさまざまなシーンが挿入されているわけですが、これらは『BIG ONES YOU CAN LOOK AT』とは異なるのです。
そして、もう１つが『THINGS THAT GO PUMP IN THE NIGHT』の「What It Takes」。この曲のクリップは２種あり、DISC 1では「レコーディング風景バージョン」だけが収録されていました。こちらではバーで演奏する「通常バージョン」も併せて収録しているのです。
AEROSMITHの黄金時代は70年代にトドメを刺しますが、地球を丸ごと征服し、ロック界最大の「王」として君臨していたのは間違いなくGEFFEN時代でした。本作は、そんな「王者時代」の象徴であるビデオ・クリップを史上最高峰クオリティで網羅した五輪級の超娯楽大作です。これほどの絶対名作が未だに公式DVD化されていない事実自体にもどかしさを覚えてきた方も多いでしょう。その乾きを癒してくれる２枚組。どうぞ、存分に楽しみ尽くしてください！
