When you say “1981 Soundboard / Pro Shot”, you can think of the first performance in Japan and the performance in Melbourne, but that is “BACK IN BLACK TOUR”. This work is the next “FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK TOUR”. This is a 3-disc set with the sound board recording of “December 17, 1981 Rochester performance” on disc 1-2 and the pro shot of “December 21, 1981 Landbar performance” on disc 3. First, let’s imagine the position from the whole world tour.

This is the whole picture of “FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK TOUR”. The Rochester performance of this work is the 29th performance, and the Land Bar performance is the 31st performance. These are the two performances that will be the last of “North America # 1” at the beginning. Let’s introduce each live performance.

[Disc 1-2: Sound board for Rochester performance] The main part of this work is the soundboard album of the Rochester performance produced by overseas core enthusiasts. In the first place, this Rochester performance has long been known to core traders and secretly became an LP bootleg. However, the trade tape and LP bootleg are of a dimension that only core collectors know, and only versions with many cuts. Even though it’s a precious “FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK TOUR” sound board, it’s awkward … This work collects the existing masters of enthusiasts who have boiled their work in such a situation, and analyzes all of them in detail. It is one work that is finished in the best and longest shape. The base is the longest tape that only core traders had in the early 90’s. However, even if it is the longest, “You Shook Me All Night Long” and “For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)” are missing, and it is supplemented from another master of runner-up quality. It’s also carefully mastered, and it’s so natural that you won’t even notice it’s connected unless you tell it.
The Rochester performance, infused with the passion of core enthusiasts, was revived as a live album in which AC / DC at its peak was rampaging in the ear. It is a sound that can not be said to be “official class” only for precious sound sources, but it is amazing with the super clear separation feeling and clear details that only the sound board can achieve. And above all, the direct feeling that AC / DC jumps into the brain miso directly. Moreover, the content of the show is fierce. The momentum that took the historic breakthrough of “BACK IN BLACK” with the whole body and struck the further masterpiece “FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK” was fully opened. It’s a pity that there are no rare songs such as “Put the Finger on You” and “Let’s Get It Up” that are unique to those days, but the concentrated and reduced “THE BEST OF AC / DC” is amazing. In fact, it’s safe to say that it’s a recent tour set. In other words, at this point, the major representative songs and super-decision songs are completely complete, and it is drawn with the band potential that created the super-famous songs.

[Disc 3: Pro Shot of Land Bar Performance] It’s a wonderful Rochester performance soundboard album, but unfortunately it wasn’t a full show, even though it was the longest ever. Especially, it hurts to have the most delicious new songs “Put The Finger On You” and “Let’s Get It Up” in “FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK TOUR”. In order to relieve such regret, this work also comes with a bonus of multi-camera pro shot of Land Bar performance.
This is also a professional shot familiar to enthusiasts, but it is also a remastered by overseas enthusiasts, and it is the highest quality version with vivid colors. However, even so, it has not yet been called “official class”, but it is still the best to enjoy the precious “FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK TOUR” with a do-up multi-camera. Perhaps because of the December performance, Santa Claus hugged a huge bell at “Hells Bells” and started the performance. Brian Johnson hits it with a mallet, Malcolm Young kicks out a sharp riff, and Angus Young rampages … everyone is young! The image of AC / DC is limited to the two characters “immutable”, but the performance and singing voice that are full of youth are different …
You can enjoy the momentum of the heyday throughout the whole story, but the hottest ones are “Put The Finger On You” and “Let’s Get It Up”. Both are only “FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK TOUR” and have not played at all since then. Even though it is a super masterpiece of the No. 1 album in the United States, it is an extremely rare number. You can enjoy the appearance of Angus running around with such a song with the “scene” of multi-camera pro shots and the sound board sound. 歴史的な一大全盛期“FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK TOUR”。その貴重なサウンドボード＆プロショット・セットが登場です。
「1981年のサウンドボード／プロショット」と言うと初来日公演やメルボルン公演が浮かびますが、そちらは“BACK IN BLACK TOUR”。本作は、その次となる“FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK TOUR”。「1981年12月17日ロチェスター公演」のサウンドボード録音をディスク１-２に、「1981年12月21日ランドバー公演」のプロショットをディスク３に配した３枚組です。まずは、ワールドツアーの全容からポジションをイメージしてみましょう。

これが“FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK TOUR”の全体像。本作のロチェスター公演は29公演目で、ランドバー公演は31公演目。冒頭「北米#1」のラストを飾る２公演なのです。それでは、それぞれのライヴあをご紹介していきましょう。

【ディスク１-２：ロチェスター公演のサウンドボード】
本作のメインとなるのは、海外のコア・マニアが制作したロチェスター公演のサウンドボード・アルバム。そもそも、このロチェスター公演は古くからコアなトレーダーには知られており、密かにLPブートレッグにもなっていました。しかし、そのトレードテープもLPブートレッグもコアなコレクターしか知らない次元のもので、しかもカットの多いバージョンばかり。貴重な“FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK TOUR”のサウンドボードだと言うのに、何とも歯がゆい……本作は、そんな状況に業を煮やしたマニアが現存するマスターをかき集め、そのすべてを精緻に分析。最良・最長のカタチに仕上げた１作なのです。ベースとなっているのは、90年代初頭にコアなトレーダーだけが持っていた最長テープ。しかし、最長ではあっても「You Shook Me All Night Long」「For Those About To Rock (We Salute You)」が欠けており、それを次点クオリティの別マスターから補填。丁寧にマスタリングも施し、言われなければ繋いでいるのに気づかないほど自然に仕上げられています。
こうしてコア・マニアの情熱を注入されたロチェスター公演は、まさに絶頂期のAC/DCが耳元で暴れるライヴアルバムになって蘇った。貴重音源だけに「オフィシャル級」とは言えないサウンドですが、サウンドボードだけが成し得る超鮮明な分離感、克明なディテールで凄い。そして何より、直結でAC/DCが脳ミソに飛び込んでくるダイレクト感……。しかも、ショウの内容が激烈。『BACK IN BLACK』の歴史的なブレイクスルーを全身で受け止め、さらなる傑作『FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK』を叩きつけた勢いが全開。当時ならではの「Put the Finger on You」「Let’s Get It Up」といったレア曲がないのは残念なものの、その分、濃縮還元された“THE BEST OF AC/DC”っぷりが凄絶。実のところ、近年のツアーのセットと言われてもおかしくない。つまり、この時点で大代表曲・超決定曲が完全に揃ったわけで、その超名曲群を創り上げたバンド・ポテンシャルで描かれるのです。

【ディスク３：ランドバー公演のプロショット】
素晴らしきロチェスター公演のサウンドボード・アルバムですが、残念ながら過去最長ではあってもフルショウではなかった。特に“FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK TOUR”で一番オイシイ新曲「Put The Finger On You」「Let’s Get It Up」がないのは痛い……。そんな悔しみを晴らすため、本作にはランドバー公演のマルチカメラ・プロショットもボーナス付属させました。
こちらもマニアにはお馴染みのプロショットではありますが、やはり海外マニアがリマスターしたもので、ビビッドな発色が鮮やかな最高クオリティ版です。もっとも、それでもなお「オフィシャル級」と呼ぶには至っていないわけですが、それでも貴重な“FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK TOUR”を見どころドアップなマルチカメラで味わえるのは最高。12月公演のせいか「Hells Bells」で巨大な鐘にサンタクロースが抱きついて開演。それを金槌で思いっきりブッ叩くブライアン・ジョンソン、そしてキレッキレのリフを弾き出すマルコム・ヤング、そして大暴れするアンガス・ヤング……みんな若い！　AC/DCのイメージと言えば「不変」の２字に尽きるわけですが、やはり若さ溢れるパフォーマンス、歌声は違う……。
その全盛期の勢いが全編にわたって楽しめるわけですが、やはり大注目なのは「Put The Finger On You」「Let’s Get It Up」。どちらも“FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK TOUR”だけで、その後一切演奏していない。全米１位アルバムの超名曲なのに、極端なほどのレアナンバーなのです。そんな曲で走り回るアンガスの姿を、マルチカメラ・プロショットの“光景”とサウンドボード音声で味わえる……。まさに貴重の言葉がそのまま映像になったようなシーンなのです。

世紀の一大全盛期でありながら、ほとんどプロ記録が残っていない“FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK TOUR”。その貴重なライン録音とプロショットをコアマニアが最長・最良バージョンに仕上げた傑作です。これこそ、史上最高のロックバンドAC/DCが最強だった刹那。「最・最」づくしが詰まったサウンドボード＆プロショット。世紀のロックンロール・ショウ、どうぞ思う存分浴びちゃってください！
