It was a tour that was compact from the last time it was nine performances, but this is the final day of the performance of this young man in the Japan Youth Hall.
The biggest point of such work is the quality that can be utmost finished. Anyway, it has good image quality and sound quality. It’s too good! First of all I am amazed at the angle. Although it is understood from the opening scene that it is the 2nd floor seat in front of the stage, when zooming to Guy and Yngwie from there, last, only Ygweve will occupy on the screen. Occasionally, one arm of the first row hosting guests may look chilly at the feet of Yngwie, but all except Yebwire, Yngwie, Yngwie. Even Dougy is not in the eye and does not draw. I keep pursuing Yngwie with daringness. It is exactly the “Chasing Yngwie” angle.

公式ライヴ映像が残されなかったドゥギー・ホワイト時代。その悔しさを一気に晴らす極上映像がギフト・リリース決定です。本作に収められているのは「2005年12月15日：日本青年館」公演。今週は“ATTACK!! TOUR”の傑作プレス２CD『OSAKA 2002（ZODIAC 234）』がリリースされますが、本作はその次となる“UNLEASH THE FURY TOUR”のライヴ・イン・ジャパンです。例によって日程の確認から始めましょう。

全９公演だった前回からグッとコンパクトになったツアーですが、本作の日本青年館公演は最終日にあたります。
そんな本作最大のポイントは、極上究めるクオリティ。とにかく画質も音質も良い。良すぎる！　まず驚かされるのがアングル。開演シーンからステージ正面の２階席とは分かるのですが、そこからグイッとイングヴェイにズームしたら最後、画面にはイングヴェイだけがひたすら占領する。時たま、１開催前列客の振り上げた腕がイングヴェイの足下にチラっと映ることもありますが、それ以外は全部イングヴェイ、イングヴェイ、イングヴェイ。ドゥギーさえ眼中になく、引きもしない。ひたすらアップでイングヴェイを追い続ける。まさに“Chasing Yngwie”なアングルなのです。
もちろん、そのイングヴェイは激しいアクションでステージを縦横無尽に暴れる人。次に驚くのは、そんなイングヴェイを追い続けながらも猛烈に安定した画面です。彼のウェスト・アップをキープし続けながら激しく左右に振るのに、画面真ん中からイングヴェイを外さないために見づらくない。これほどのズームで追い続けるだけでなく、手ブレも起こさないとは……。
そんな光景を描き出す画質もびっくりレベル。12年前の映像になるわけですが、最新機材でもそうそうはないレベルの超ハイクオリティ・デジタル画質。その美しさは、プロショットの１アングルとして十分に通用する。サウンドも画質に劣らず美しく、思わずオーディエンス・ショットということを忘れそうになります。
それほどのクオリティで描かれるショウがまた、素晴らしい。新作『UNLEASH THE FURY』からは６曲とイングヴェイにしては控えめなバランスではあるものの、代わりにインストの名曲群がたっぷり。2003年にG3ツアーに参加した影響か、このインストがまたキレッキレで実に楽しそうに弾き倒すのです。もちろん、歴代シンガーの名曲群も演奏されますし、そこでもドゥギーは見事な仕事人ぶりを（画面外から：笑）聴かせてくれます。

とにもかくにも極上のクオリティ。そして、“Chasing Yngwie”。正直なところ、もっとドゥギーの姿を観たかった気もしますが、この徹底的にイングヴェイ！なアングルも、実に“らしい”のです。プレスCDの名作ライヴ盤『OSAKA 2002』と共に、ドゥギー時代のライヴ・イン・ジャパンを代表する超・逸品。どうぞ、たっぷりとお楽しみください。
