2014年7月5日ニューヨーク州ニコルスよりスタートした話題の最新USツアーより、ツアー2日目の7月6日、ニューヨーク州アルバニーはハート・シアター公演を2時間10分に渡って超高音質オーディエンス録音で完全収録！！今年の11月後半には2年半ぶりとなる来日公演も決定し、盛り上がるイエスの最新ショウをライン録音に匹敵する最高音質でプレスCD2枚組でリリースです。先のThree Classic Albums Tourでは「サード・アルバム」「危機」「究極」をアルバム構成順ごとに演奏し、大きな話題を呼びましたが、今回の新作「Heaven & Earth」に伴うツアーでは、「危機」と「こわれもの」収録曲を全曲演奏するということで、ツアー開始前から、世界中のイエスファンをエキサイトさせていました。そして始まった最新ツアー！オープニングSEは「火の鳥」から「The Young Persons Guide To The Orchestra」に変更され、前半は「危機」3曲を演奏。ただし、実際のアルバムとは真逆の曲順です（現在、7/16ハンプトンでのみアルバム収録順での演奏が確認されていますが）。ここでクリスのMCを挟み、新作「Heaven & Earth」からTo AscendとThe Gameを演奏。前日の初日は演奏しなかったのでこの2曲はこの日が記念すべき初ライヴということになります（ちなみに翌日のボストンからは大曲のBelieve Againに代わっています）。この2曲のライヴが非常に良いですので、是非、日本でも演奏されることを期待したいところです。続いてはハウの紹介で「こわれもの」を、今度はリアルにアルバム曲順でフル演奏！ここで注目したいのはRoundaboutに続いて演奏されるキーボードソロCans And Brahmsです。リックも1972年ツアーでは一時演奏していましたが、まさかこの曲のライヴがそれから42年ぶりに（ジェフ・ダウンズによって）イエスのステージで再現されるとは！（ちなみにこの日はまだライヴアレンジが完成していなかったようで、現行のテイクに比べると幾分シンプル気味に演奏されています。）そして、本盤最大の聴きどころは、レコードのB面頭…ではなく、CDディスク2の一曲目の「無益の５％」！！その昔、プレグレ好き大学生が暇にまかせて軽音楽部でチャレンジする以外、真面目に再現を試みた人はいなかったと思われる小曲を、まさかイエスのライヴで聴ける日が来るとは！まさか本人たちもこの曲を人前で演奏するとは思ってもいなかったのではないでしょうか（基本無関係のアラン・ホワイトは「なぜ俺が…」と言った感じで、うつむき加減にヘッドフォンを付けて、タイミングを計りながら演奏しています）。企画モノとは言え、ファンにとっては、ハウ＆クリスのこの曲の生演奏が聴けるだけでも、ライヴに行って良かったーと思うのではないのでしょうか。今回のツアーはメンバー全員やる気満々で全体的には非常に良い演奏が聴けます（ただしHeart Of The Sunriseでは7:18でアランが構成を間違えて叩いてしまい、一瞬全体が混乱するという珍しい場面が聴けます）。メインセットの締めは楽しいI’ve Seen All Good Peopleですが、何と言ってもファンを驚かせてくれたのは、アンコールのOwner Of A Lonely Heart！始まった直後、それまで押し黙って聴き入っていたレコーダー回りのファンも流石に（小声で）「マジっすか」と会話しています。ただ、演奏自体は結構ラフで、前日も演奏しているはずなのですが、最初のドラムSEが上手くかからず、後半のキメも何もかもすっ飛んでしまったメチャクチャなエンディングは、失笑を通り越して痛快ですらあり、「もしかして本人たちもこの混乱を楽しんでるのかな？」と思うようなファン必聴の迷奏ぶりを聴くことができます。それで、Starship Trooperを演奏すると、いきなりシャキっとするのですから流石です。前回のThree Classic Albums Tourも素晴らしかったですが、今回のHeaven & Earthツアーは、演奏・セット、本当に良いです。聴きどころ満載の最新ショウをいち早く、最高音質で、しかもプレスCDで楽しめるとくれば、イエス・ファンが本タイトルを無視することは許されないことでしょう。日本ツアーの予習にも最適な、お薦め超高音質タイトルが好評Virtuosoレーベルから登場です！！
