“Year Of The Snake” Japan tour in 2013 which WHITESNAKE just released has officially launched the official live work “MADE IN JAPAN” and stepped on Japanese soil again. Starting with the Takamatsu performance on May 1, they took a hot show of seven performances in five cities nationwide until the Osaka performance on October 10.
From this tour, many live sources have already appeared, except for the early stage local performances. Among them, the most unbalanced on the volume side is the 3 performances · 6 pairs of “YEAR OF THE SNAKE: JAPAN TOUR 2013”, and speaking of one that jumped out in terms of quality, the press CD 2 set title It will be “THE LAST STAND IN TOKYO”. In addition to these, several recordings enjoyed WHITESNAKE ‘s first visit to Japan for the first time in two years.
This work satisfies the desire of maniac “want to listen more”, a nice 4 set. On May 6th that was the first day of Tokyo and Osaka May 10th on the last day of the Japan Tour, we are completely recording on the 4 discs with original master who is not known at all among traders. With excellent quality that is not usually surprisingly released, we will entertain the pattern of the East-West 2 performances carefully.

In Disks 1 and 2, we recorded the Tokyo · Shibuya performances performed at the tour 4 tour. This sound recording is the same taper as “THE LAST TEMPLE IN TOKYO” (Shades) which is Michael Schenker’s 2012 version of the sound source coming to Japan. As you can hear it, this recording is also neat but it is a superb audience source that you can taste the mood of the venue firmly.

From the opening “Give Me All Your Love” this recording is full of powerful bass with heavy weight. This sound image makes songs of “Classic Snake” era more attractive, such as “Ready An ‘Willing” and “Do not Break My Heart Again”. At the beginning of “Gambler”, we will reproduce the harsh keyboard sounds and the harmonious guitar harmony with wonderful listening comprehension. Moreover, deep sound at acoustic part represented by “Is not No Love In The Heart Of The City” is exquisite. Even listening to these musical sounds would be worth the effort to get this work! The highlight of the live “Fool For Your Loving” and “Still Of The Night” excitement is the first incandescence of Tokyo ‘s first day. We will listen to the finale at “We Wish You Well” in one stroke!

And on Disks 3 · 4, the final tour day May 10th · Osaka performance is fully recorded. It is a wonderful sound which is superior to Shibuya performance as well. The same day recording was able to be enjoyed even at “YEAR OF THE SNAKE: JAPAN TOUR 2013”, but of course this is also a perfect master. From the viewpoint different from other sound sources, let’s enjoy the live of the last day full of heat.
Compared with Disks 1 and 2, the sound feels the spread of air feeling due to the size of the venue. Cavadel’s vocals, Dag and Reb guitars are also very rich sound images, which are lively and recorded from “Give Me All Your Love”. Mid range with thick thickness also amuses the base of Michael Devin clearly. Especially powerful ‘Can You Hear The Wind Blow’ and ‘Love Will Set You Free’, Deep Is Is This Love · ‘Is not No Love In The Heart Of The City’ · ‘Here I Go Again’ etc. Listening to, it seems to be “Is it OK to press this as well?” Furthermore, “Forevermore” and “Fool For Your Loving” can enjoy the wonderfulness which surpasses even the same day sound source in the six-piece set “YEAR OF THE SNAKE: JAPAN TOUR 2013”!

In this work, you can listen to the live performances of the first half of the tour and the last one while comparing each. Mania who listened to the same day sound source that has appeared so far should have interesting differences in the fun of comparison and the sound image by another master. Also for those who say “There are volumes too much in the six-sheet set,” this four-sheet set will be an affordable item. WHITESNAKEがリリースしたばかりの公式ライヴ作品「MADE IN JAPAN」を引っ提げて、再び日本の土を踏んだ2013年の”Year Of The Snake”ジャパンツアー。彼らは５月１日の高松公演を皮切りに、10日の大阪公演に至るまで、全国５都市で７公演の熱いライヴを繰り広げました。
このツアーからは、序盤の地方公演を除いて、すでに多くのライヴ・ソースが登場しています。このうちボリューム面で他の追随を許さないのが、３公演・６枚組の「YEAR OF THE SNAKE: JAPAN TOUR 2013」であり、クオリティ面で飛び抜けた一本と言えば、プレスCD２枚組タイトルの「THE LAST STAND IN TOKYO」でしょう。これらの他にも複数の録音が、２年ぶりとなるWHITESNAKEの再来日を楽しませてくれました。
本作は「もっと聴きたい」というマニアの欲求を満たす、嬉しい４枚組。東京初日となった５月６日と、ジャパンツアー最終日の５月10日・大阪公演を、トレーダー間でも一切知られていないオリジナル・マスターで４枚のディスクに完全収録しています。通常リリースされても不思議は無い優秀なクオリティで、東西２公演の模様をじっくりと楽しませます。

ディスク１・２では、ツアー４公演目に行われた東京・渋谷公演を収録しています。本音源はマイケル・シェンカーの2012年来日音源の決定版である「THE LAST TEMPLE IN TOKYO」（Shades）と同一テーパーによる録音。そちらでも聴けたように、本録音も端正でありながら会場のムードをしっかり味わえる、極上のオーディエンス・ソースです。

本録音はオープニングの「Give Me All Your Love」から、ずっしりと重量感のある低音が迫力満点。この音像は「Ready An’ Willing」や「Don’t Break My Heart Again」など、”Classic Snake”時代の楽曲をさらに魅力的なものとしています。また「Gambler」冒頭では、厳かなキーボードの音色、重厚なギターのハーモニーを、素晴らしい聴き応えで再現します。さらに「Ain’t No Love In The Heart Of The City」に代表されるアコースティック・パートでの奥深いサウンドは絶品。これらの楽音を聴くだけでも、本作を手に入れる価値はあるでしょう！　ライヴのハイライト「Fool For Your Loving」や「Still Of The Night」での盛り上がりは、東京初日にふさわしい白熱ぶり。「We Wish You Well」でのフィナーレまで、一気に聴かせてしまいます！

そしてディスク３・４では、ツアー最終日の５月10日・大阪公演を完全収録。こちらも渋谷公演に勝るとも劣らない素晴らしいサウンドです。同日録音は「YEAR OF THE SNAKE: JAPAN TOUR 2013」でも楽しめましたが、こちらも当然完全別マスター。他音源とは異なる視点から、熱気溢れる最終日のライヴを堪能させます。
ディスク１・２と較べて、会場の大きさによる空気感の広がりを感じるサウンド。カヴァデールのヴォーカル、ダグとレブのギターも非常に豊かな音像で、「Give Me All Your Love」から活き活きと収録されています。厚みのある中音域は、マイケル・デヴィンのベースもはっきりと楽しませます。特にパワフルな「Can You Hear The Wind Blow」や「Love Will Set You Free」、深みのある「Is This Love」・「Ain’t No Love In The Heart Of The City」・「Here I Go Again」などを聴くと、「これもプレス化して良いのではないか？」と思わされます。さらに「Forevermore」や「Fool For Your Loving」は、既発盤６枚組「YEAR OF THE SNAKE: JAPAN TOUR 2013」での同日音源すら凌ぐような素晴らしさを味わえるでしょう！

本作ではツアー前半と終盤のライヴを、それぞれ比較しながら聴き込めます。これまで登場してきた同日音源を聴いたマニアも、比較の面白さや別マスターによる音像の違いは興味深いものがあるはずです。また「６枚組ではボリュームがあり過ぎる」という人にとっても、この４枚組は手頃なアイテムでしょう。本作は日本のWHITESNAKEファンの心に焼き付けられた2013年ツアーを、再び聴き込ませる４枚組。今回の限定リリースのチャンスをお見逃し無く、どうぞゲットしてください！
