On December 20th and 21st, 1986, at the Japan Winter Jingu Stadium held for 2 days at Charity Live “Japan Aid”, the live performance of Peter Gabriel who served as a bird of both days was super high sound quality Completely recorded with each audience recording. Tapered completely new appearance of the lap of the 80’s after the 80’s say Clapton, Jeff Beck, Mick Jagger, Pink Floyd and Genesis, Phil Collins, recorded in incredible ultra-high sound quality. You can enjoy the full picture of the show with the sound “PERFECT” as the name implies on both days. Other performers of the festival were live in seven hours, both under the cold, such as Jackson Brown, Lou Reed, Little Stephen, Howard Jones. Disk 1 recorded for the first day about 54 minutes. The first day starts with a Japanese greeting called “Konban, Japan” by Peter. The opening is Red Rain, where the rhythm entered around 2:30 seconds, Peter interrupted the performance in English saying “A problem occurred, I can not hear the bass.” In the hurry, Here Comes The Flood is sung by keyboard and Peter, and the appearance connecting the place is recorded in real. The equipment seemed to recover during this song, after the show, Red Rain will start again following the MC of “We try again, Red Rain”. This time it is played without problems, you can listen to Tony Levin ‘s base clearly. Shock The Monkey After the performance “Thank you for coming! It’s cold!” Peter Gabriel greeted in Japanese. Occasionally, equipment noise goes in between songs, so it seems that it is not in a perfect state, but the concert will progress at a tempo well. Following San Jacinto, Sledgehammer, familiar Biko will be played across the intro, introducing Steve Bico, an apartheid activist. The set end is In Your Eyes, and all performers of the day are on stage, the audience is exciting and the live ends. Last can listen to the announcement of the female moderator’s show. Disk 2 recorded the second day performance for about 51 minutes. This is also recorded with the same high quality as the first day. Unlike the first day troubled by equipment trouble, a smoother live has been deployed on this day. There is no Japanese MC after Shock The Monkey, No Self Control is played instead of the previous day San Jacinto. After the show, equipment noise is occurring as well as the first day, but the live itself will progress smoothly. In addition to the introduction “arrived today” on the member introduction on the second day, you can also ask the name of “Yusu-Udor”. On this day, contrary to the first day, I changed the last song order to In Your Eyes, Biko (probably as originally planned). Please listen to Biko’s impressive performance of 11 minutes. In the last, the female moderator will finish the show by going to the MC saying “There is a finale later”. The stage of Peter’s “JAPAN AID” was digested on a commercial TV, so it’s familiar to fans, but the live that captured the two shows completely and with the finest sound is the first in history It is a wonderful achievement. Fans of the world’s fans startle 2 press CD titles appear from popular Virtuoso label! It is!

★ It is a review summary of beatleg magazine vol.138 (January 2012 issue). For your information.

The event named Japan Aid 1st “Hurricane Eileen” was held at Jingu Stadium by the invitation of Peter Gabriel. Peter Gabriel, Howard Jones, Lou Reed, Little Steven, Nona Hendrix, Youssoou N ‘dour, Jackson Brown, The Stas Namin Band, Sandy & the Sansets, Shirai Takako & Crazy Boys and Rebecca from Japan change daily, and Kai Yoshihiro etc It attracted attention as a large event with artists both in Japan and abroad. It goes without saying that Peter Gabriel was the first visitor to Japan, but the other was the first solo concert of Kai Yoshihiro after the Kai band disbanded. The bird at the first day is Peter, I remember that the bird of the second day was worth the effort. On the second day when Peter’s performance ended, many attempts to end the venue with an opening festival at the end of December, giving the audience a pain of extreme cold, “after next is Kai Yoshi Hiroka?” “Sun City” “You Can not Get It” “Revolution” was sung at the end of the last by all performers. The interview and excerpts of the performance scene are broadcasted on TV for the pattern of these two days, and it is softened the following year in the following year. A quarter of a century just now I did not dream that the source of the two days will come out, but the honest impression I heard this CD is “Was not there a sound like this at this place?” To that extent, there was a memory that the sound at the hall was bad. When listening to these two documents, it seems that they were due to equipment trouble. A trouble occurred from the first song of Peter waiting to wait, I could listen to “Here Comes The flood” which is not in the set list. Of course, this scene becoming a narrative grass is also recorded batchly. That’s why the 1 and 3 of Disc 1 have the same name. 5 was played only on the first day. In the last 9 Youssoou N ‘dour and other musicians came up to stage and chorused. It was a wonderful ending. This scene is also included in the bonus DVD, so you can be satisfied there as well (about the video below). Next day the second day. Start from “Red Rain” as set list. The sound source of this day is a sound image slightly away from the stage. It has a wonderful presence as an audience recording. “NO SELF CONTROL” will be played on behalf of “SAN JACINTO” on this day. Also, as the performance for all of the above is left, we will conclude with “BIKO” which condensed the message nature of this event. 2 sheets set press CD. There is an announcement of expulsion by female announcement at the last end of Disc 1, but after the performance of Peter of this day, a female announcement enters “There is a finale at a later time.” The record so far. People who thought, “Anyway, it is Kai Yoshihiro”, they went home without seeing the last finale. The pattern is now only to search for VHS or LD used, but I hope so far and enjoy the bonus DVD image this time. This image was recorded at that time with high-definition video system (HDVS) and digital recording. The previous one for broadcasting is used for this picture. And what is interview & subtitle entertainment. Because it was broadcast by the Civil Code, I think that there was CF offering, but it is appreciated even if it is not there. After that, if you want the finale part to be complete and make it complete, it’s such a wonderful title that greed comes out. In addition, as a bonus CDR, “ANOTHER MASTER” of another audience recording on the second day appeared. This is included from the introduction of Peter Gabriel of the female announcement at the beginning, but it is handled as bonus Disc to the last. Although the sound image is not problem at all, it is regrettable that when the dynamism of cheering and performance goes up, the sound cracks. Finally, the subject of this concert was told in vague content by the word “peace”. In fact, there are also sections that were thought to be part of the charity about Africa’s starvation, as Japanese listeners associate from the naming “Japan aid”. The liner of the video at the time also emphasized the word “peace”, but the specific purpose was obscure. This charity concert is a charity for the University UNIVERSITY FOR PEACE, and sales of software were also devoted to its establishment and operation. However, it is starting from the activities of the musicians who oppose the performance in anti-apartheid, multipurpose facility dedicated to white people named San City in a black residential area. The movement of wanting to know the fact that there are people who are rather persecuted is near. It was an epoch-making concert in the sense that a festival of music beyond race and country was held. There is the fact that the entrance was refused because the band’s guitarist who was planning to visit Japan in 1985 a year ago was South Africa’s nationality. And the flow of this event will lead to Peter Gabriel’s second visit to Human rights now! In 1988. It also releases its sound source at the same time.

Shock The Monkeyの後の日本語MCは無く、前日のSan Jacintoの代わりにNo Self Controlが演奏されます。

最後の最後に出演者全員によって「Sun City」「You Can’t Get It」「Revolution」が歌われた。
