1988年「A Momentary Lapse Of Reason」に伴う日本ツアーより、冒頭2日間を飾った武道館２デイズを空前絶後のウルトラ・スーパー超高音質オーディエンス録音で両公演とも完全収録。先の代々木３デイズを最高音質で収録した「Signs of Live」「Signs of Everlife」と同じ録音者のマスターカセットをダイレクトに使用、桁外れの音質で話題を呼んだ代々木版と同レベルのパーフェクト・サウンドで収録されています。実はこの音源は「TOKYO 2.3.88 MASTER TC-D5M」というネーミングで海外でも流通しており、音源レビューサイトでも最高グレードの「5.5」の決定版とされており、数年前にはその音源のリマスター版「At Budokan」がSireneレーベルからリリースされていたという経緯がありました。今回の6枚組は同じマスターを使用していますが、今回はマスターカセットからの収録により、曲間を中心に、録音時間は初日は既発146分に対して150分、2日目は151分に対して154分と、曲間を中心にそれぞれ数分づつ長く収録されています。更に既発ではそれぞれのショウを2枚のディスクに収録することで分断されていた「第二部」が、本盤は「第一部」「第二部」「アンコール」と３つの理想的フォーマットに収録されているため、ノンカットで楽しめるというアドバンテージもあります。更に凄いのは収録されているサウンドです。既発との音質の差は歴然としており、音のパンチ、広がり、鮮度、スケール感、そしてクリアネスと、全ての点で容易に音の優位性を確認することができ、「テープ・ジェネレーションが違うとここまで違うのか」という、マスター・クオリティの凄まじさをまざまざと感じることができます。最高音質と信じていた既発テイクが本盤と比較することで、全くもってくすんだ音質であったことが分かりますし、特に2日目のテイクは別モノとしか思えないくらいの音で収録されており、「これが本当に同じマスターなのか？」と何度も観客の声などで比較確認を行ってしまうくらい、まさに３ランクアップのスーパーサウンドです。代々木テイクでも同じことを感じましたが、スピーカーから出力される現実離れした音の洪水に、一体全体、1988年の武道館で、どうやったらこんなサウンドで録音することが可能なのかと、誰もが聴いていて疑問符でいっぱいになってしまうであろう、通常、あり得ないレベルの、凄まじいばかりの音のドラマを体感することができます。実際、あまりの音の迫力に押し黙って聴き入ってしまったのは私たちだけではなかったようで、武道館の観客も、PAから出力される圧倒的なサウンドと16年ぶりのフロイドの日本公演を見ているという緊張感からか、ギルモアの最初のMC部分で静まり返ってしまい、テープにはギルモアの「Thank you アリガトウ」に続く、「God, it’s quiet」というつぶやきも記録されています。MCに関して言えば、初日のコンサートの成功に、2日目はギルモアがより饒舌になっているのが分かります。高品質な演奏内容に関しては、ここに細かく記す必要はないかと思われますが、ショウ後半のComfortably Numbのギターソロパート、One Slipのベースソロ･パートなどは本当に凄い音で録音されており、必聴パートになっています。エリック・クラプトン、ミック・ジャガー、ロバート・プラント等のタイトル一群で、常識外れの驚異的な録音テイクを次々と世に送り出し、世界中のマニアを唖然とさせているテーパーによる、1988年ピンク・フロイドの武道館音源。マスター・クオリティの凄まじさをぜひご体感下さい。フロイド専門のニューレーベル「LEM」第一弾。

「最後の来日公演」と言っても過言ではないだろう。Roger Waters脱退後のPink Floydの来日公演から、2日間開催された武道館公演を完全収録したもの。両公演とも同じ録音者によるオーディエンス音源で、アナログカセットによる録音ながら、そのクオリティは完璧というより他ない。セットリストは両日とも固定で、第一部は「Shine On」で始まり、当時の最新アルバム『A Momentary Lapse Of Reason』で占められ、第二部は過去のヒット曲という構成。欧米では第二部のハイライトだった「On The Run」が諸事情でカットされたのは非常に残念ではあった。演奏全体はAOR風に上品なアレンジに仕上がっていて、そのコンサートの演奏を聴いても差異はないのだが、唯一「Money」の間奏部分においてメンバーの即興パートが設けられている。後にこの間奏部分は最悪のレゲエアレンジが施されるのだが、まだこの時点では原曲のアレンジが損なわれず、白熱の演奏を楽しめる。
