1976年1月30日のボストン公演。有名なテーパーとなったダン・ランピンスキーによって録音された誉れ高いオーディエンス・テープが残されていることで、今日では定番中の定番音源としてファンには馴染み深いものとなっている。今回、『A Night At Boston Definitive Edition』とタイトルされている如く、『A Night At Boston (Wardour-067)』（本誌vol.111参照）の”Definitive Edition”ということだが、既発盤が充分過ぎるほどの高音質なので、一体何がどう違うのかが気になるところだろう。ぱっと聴いただけでは分かり難いかもしれないが、じっくりとヘッドホンで聴き比べてみると、よりクリアになっていることは確かであり、霞が一切無くなったというか、より深みが増してその先までが聴こえるというか、そういう違いが感じられるのである。インフォメーションで強調されている「ヴォーカルの”サシスセソ”音の耳に付く音まで緩和されている」というのが分かり易い例だろうが、この違いはマスタリングなどではなく、テープ・ジェネレーションの違いに起因していることは明白である。何れにせよ、全てのクイーンのオーディエンス音源の中でもトップクラスの音質を誇ることだけは間違いないだろう。「Doing All Right」の前でフレディが「ファースト・アルバムから何かやりたいがリクエストはあるか？」と言うと、盛んに「Liar!」と叫んでいる客に対して、「Liar! 他にあるか？」というやり取りが生々しく捕らえられているくらい、相当ステージに近い位置での録音であることが推測出来るというもの。
