On October 4th, the 8th tour from the European tour in 1977, the Netherlands recorded the Hague performance in a super high quality audience recording. Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll introduces two new participants before. In the first half of the show, the base is somewhat retracted but it will become the best balance in this neighborhood. Richie’s solo with this musical piece and Ronnie’s vocal with impressive marks are truly amazing. After Richie’s sharp solo at Man On The Silver Moutain, there is a part from which the guitar comes out (it will revive soon.) Have you ever had a high-quality Blues take? The enthusiasm of Ronnie’s ad lib part is recorded with unbelievable clear sound. Still I’m Sad’s guitar solo part has no words in his strange power. 1977年ヨーロッパ･ツアーより８公演目にあたる10月4日、オランダはハーグ公演を超高音質オーディエンス録音で収録。アナログ時代から有名な音源ですが、本盤は近年登場したロー･ジェネ･テープから起こしたとされる極上音質ヴァージョンを収録しています。もともと音の良いことでお馴染みの公演でしたが、本盤で聴ける音はまさに別格と断言できるスーパー・サウンドで収録されており、ファンを驚愕させることでしょう。驚くべきことに一切のカットがなく（勿論、アナログ･ヴァージョンのようなイントロのカットやStill I’m Sadのフェイド処理などもありません）1977年ヨーロッパ･ツアーではベストと断言できる最高音質で、ショウの全貌を楽しむことができます。また低かったピッチはジャストに調整してあります。リッチーも全編を通して勢いのあるソロを聴かせてくれ、ロニーも絶好調のボーカルを披露してくれます。Catch The Rainbowのリッチーのイントロは素晴らしいです。（ロニーが2番で歌詞を忘れたりしますが）実に優雅な演奏を楽しむことができます。Long Live Rock ‘n’ Rollの前に新加入の2人の紹介が行われます。ショウ前半、ややベースが引っ込み気味ですがこの辺りになると最高のバランスになってきます。この曲での勢いのあるリッチーのソロと迫力満点のロニーのボーカルは本当に凄いです。Man On The Silver Moutainでのリッチーの鋭いソロの後、ギターが抜けるパートがあります（すぐに復活します。）ここまで高音質なBluesのテイクがかつてあったでしょうか？ロニーのアドリブパートの熱唱も信じられない程のクリアーなサウンドで収録されています。Still I’m Sadのギターソロ･パートの異様な迫力には言葉もありません。(5:27～5:45付近までテープ劣化あり。これが唯一の欠点と言えます。）更に凄いのはコージーのドラム･ソロで疑う余地なく過去最高のサウンドで収録されており、コージー･ファンはこの一曲のためにも本盤を入手する価値があります。そこまで凄い、本当の意味での決定版です。
サウンドボード録音に匹敵するスーパー･サウンドで聴ける1977年レインボーの壮絶なライブは間違いなく全てのファン必聴です。

★★2008年リリースの77年オランダ・ハーグ公演の高音質音源盤。2011年に同公演のアッパー盤「DEN HAAG 1977」(Rising Arrow-049)がリリースされたため、その役目を終えた本タイトルですが、今回、海外倉庫からオリジナル盤30セットが発見されました。内容的には「DEN HAAG 1977」がベストですが、これだけ単独で聴けば、十分過ぎるほどの高音質です。10年前のRising Arrowレーベル・タイトルですが、全然イケてます。未所有のファンの方は是非、この機会にご入手下さい。
