Joe Lynn Shinsei Rainbow, which celebrated its Turner to new vocalist, you spent the 1981 first half to live activities. ジョー・リン・ターナーを新ボーカリストに迎えた新生レインボーは、1981年前半期をライヴ活動に費やします。よりポップなメロディック路線を目指したレインボーは、2月後半～5月上旬まで北米を中心にツアーを行い、アメリカでの商業的成功に狙いをかけます。そのエネルギッシュなライヴは「FINYL VINYL」にも一部が収録された5月2日のニューヨーク、放送音源としてお馴染みの5月7日のボストン公演等でもお馴染みです。6月から7月上旬にかけては、ドイツを中心としたヨーロッパ・ツアーを敢行、勢いそのままに、バンドは7月より大規模な全英ツアーを行います。7月8日・9日と、ロンドンのレインボー・シアター、その後、スコットランドに飛び、翌10日・11日とエジンバラ公演を行います。本盤は、そのスコットランド公演から、7月11日のエジンバラでのライヴを良質なオーディエンス録音で収録、ブートレッグとしては初登場です。この公演の次のコンサートが、今回ボーナスディスクとして使用されたリーズ初日公演ですので、ファンはUKツアー後半のニューキャッスルと合わせ聴くことで、全英ツアーの推移が掴めるのではないでしょうか。波乱とトラブルに満ちた翌日のリーズ公演と違い、この日のライヴはまさに絶好調。セット的にはこの時期の典型的なものではありますが、今回のプレス盤のニューキャッスル公演ではさわりのみの演奏だったSmoke On The Waterが、フル演奏されています。Rule BritanniaはKill The Kingのイントロとして演奏されています。マスターは120分カセットテープ(Memorex C-120)で、1時間40分とかなり長めのコンサートをほぼフル収録していますが、肝心の音質はいまひとつ。今回のプレスリリースのニューキャッスル、ボーナスのリーズと比べるとかなり厳しいマニア向けの録音であることは否めません。しかし、よく聴いてみると、音自体は歪んでいるわけではなく、音の鮮度も良好ですので、「演奏者が何をやってるか」ははっきりと聴き取ることできます。一般のロックファンには不要な音源ですが、マニアにはミッシングリンクを埋めるマスター・クオリティのレア音源ということで必携・必聴間違いありません。まさに音は悪いが「聴くに値する音源」です。結局、オーディエンス録音というものは「この日の公演の録音がこれしかないなら、音の鮮度が良ければ（ジェネ若ならば）、問題なし！」であり、それがヴィンテージ音源なら、なおさらです。凄まじいばかりの演奏力と、この時期ならではの独特の色彩感に満ちた虹の輝きは、まさに唯一無二。テープ劣化もなんのその、マニアは間違いなく「聴けて大満足」すること必至の音源です。散見されたノイズは出来うる限り削除してありますので、同一のマスター音源としては世界最良のヴァージョンであることは保証いたします（低かったピッチも補正済み）。ぜひコレクションに加えて下さい！
