このように、本作が記録されたのは武道館２日目です。かねてより「ON TOUR 1980 ?SINCE YOU BEEN GONE-」「GONE WILD」「DEFINITIVE GONE WILD」といった超・高音質盤が知られていますが、実は元を辿ればみんな同じ、キニー製のアナログ盤「BLACKMORE IN NEW BLACK STOCKINGS SEXISM OUTRAGE」を起源とする録音です。本作は、その録音カセットそのものを使用したCD化なのです。そのサウンドは、まったくもって武道館最終日の「DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1980」に負けず劣らずの超・高音質。名演の伝道者たる既発たちも“スーパー・オーディエンス”として名を馳せてきましたが、さすがはオリジナル・カセット。鮮度が１枚も２枚も上手で、総ての楽音がまるで昨日録られたように美しくも生々しい。シンバルの鳴りの鮮やかさと言ったら……。

もちろん、カットされていたMCやイントロ「The Land Of Hope And Glory」「Keyboard Intro.」の一瞬の欠け、さらには終演アナウンス「本日はRAINBOW公演にご来場いただき、誠にありがとうございました。もう一度……」等々、オリジナル・カセットに記録されていた全音声を復刻しました。さらに、「All Night Long」のラスト７秒から「Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll」冒頭25秒における欠けは、マニア秘蔵の別マスター（これまがまた超・高音質！　これの完全版が存在してくれたら……）を用いて補填。ショウの完全収録盤を実現しました。今度こそ自然に繋がる「All Night Long」→「Long Live Rock ‘n’ Roll」の流れ。たった32秒とはいえ、最強RAINBOWの大名演がやっと本来姿で聴ける……。
そう、本作最大の価値は、細かい音源ヒストリーや編集のうんちくではありません。“大名演を過去最高のサウンドで聴けるライヴアルバム”、これに尽きる！　実際、本作が大気を吸い込んできた「５月９日」のショウは、とんでもなく素晴らしい。実際のところイチバン人気なのは、武道館最終日「５月12日」だったりしますが、その人気の原因は初日・２日目で演奏しなかった「Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow」も収録しているところが大きい。確かに、“曲数が多い”というのは大きな魅力ではありますが、それはあくまでスペック的な価値観。１本のライヴとして、本作も武道館最終日にまったく劣るところはない大熱演なのです。実際、先日「DEFINITIVE BUDOKAN 1980」がリリースされた際にも、「最終日は欠点なしの全部盛りだけど、俺が一番好きなのは９日なんだよね……」とおっしゃるお客様も（少なからず）いらっしゃいました。
