コンサートは何と「監獄ロック」で開幕する意表を突くオープニングであった。既にビッグ・ネームとなっていたバンドが、しかも数多あるヒット曲を差し置いてカバーで始めるとは驚く。そして2曲目は「ウィ・ウィル・ロック・ユー」なのだが、アレンジをがらりと変えてアップテンポで演奏されるというのが面白い。当時のファンは本当にびっくりしたのではないだろうか。そしてこの来日公演の特長としては、後半のインスト・ナンバーに時間が割かれている点であろう。前述のように『フラッシュ・ゴードン』のサントラを発表した直後ということもあり、ドラムソロやギターソロに続いて同アルバムからの曲をステージでも大々的に披露しているのである。インストとは言っても退屈とは無縁の素晴らしいもので、バンドのテクニシャンとしての側面をこれでもかと見せつけてくれる圧巻の演奏である。そしてコンサートの締めくくりは「ボヘミアン・ラプソディ」はもちろんのこと、最新ヒット曲「愛というの名の欲望」「地獄へ道ずれ」、そして今度はオリジナルに忠実な「ウィ・ウィル・ロック・ユー」と畳みかけるように誰もが知るナンバーが続く。そして「伝説のチャンピョン」で大団円を迎える。なお、ボーナストラックとして、武道館最終日1981年2月18日のサウンドチェックから「愛にすべてを」と「手をとりあって」の2曲を収録している。「愛にすべてを」は結局ステージでは演奏されなかったが、こうしてサウンドチェックでは演奏されていたというのが驚く。そして「手をとりあって」は初日には演奏されなかったものの、最終日の特別曲として演奏されているので、そのためのものであろう。

音源は当時武道館に臨場したマニアが30年以上死蔵していた未発表の初登場音源を使用。その音質はサンプル音源を聴いていただければわかる通り、このような高音質録音が今まで他で一切出回っていなかったのが不思議なほどのクオリティ。しかもノーカットで完全収録というから信じられない思いである。1981年のクイーンの来日公演音源は数多くあれど、殿堂入りのピーチさんは別格として、それ以外で本作を凌ぐものはないのではないか。それくらい、1981年クイーン来日公演の中では最高音質のひとつである。
