ピンク・フロイドは 「 The Dark Side Of The Moon 」 のプロト・タイプ を引っ提げて， 1972年1月20日から 2月20日まで 1ヵ月間の英国内ツアーを皮切りに，再来日の日本公演も含め大規模なツアーを約 1年間行い，プロト・タイプから完成形へと進化させていきます．
本音源はその初演日に当たる 1月20日ブライトンのザ・ドーム公演を収録．この初演時は残念ながら機器トラブルにより，”Money” 開始直後に中断を余儀なくされてしまいますが，その中断のドキュメントも収録されおり，ファン必聴の公演日である事は言う間でもありません．

元々，未発表である 「 The Dark Side Of The Moon 」 であるが故，観客側は曲の構成も判らず，中断された段階で拍手が起こる部分も非常に興味深い内容ですし，その予期しない中断も何のその，何事も無かったかのように ”Atom Heart Mother” を演奏してしまうのも，流石です．

『「狂気」世界初演として名高い1972年1月20日のブライトン・ドーム公演音源を収録。
当店も2016年に「BRIGHTON JANUARY 1972」(2CD, Sigma 167)をリリースし、好評を博していますが、本音源は今年2月にマニアが再編集し、発表したもの。この日は2つの録音テープが存在しており、どちらもモノラルですが、音質は良好であり、
「Recorder 1」と称されるテイクはステージにより近い場所で録音されており音が近いのが特徴で､Sigma 167でもメインで使用したお馴染みの高音質録音｡
「Recorder 2」と称される音源は、ステージからやや離れて若干こもった質感ですが、音像・定位は優れています。

今回のヴァージョンは「BRIGHTON JANUARY 1972」のSigma盤に比べると若干ヒスも大きめですが、質感はRAWそのもので、ジェネの確かなソースを自然に組み合わせてミックスしており、全体の音も大きめに処理され非常に聴きやすい音像に仕上げています。音の鮮度の良さ、高域のクリアネスは圧巻で、昔からこの音源に接してきていたフロイド・ファンは、Sigma盤同様に、その尋常ではない質の高さに大いに驚かれるのではないでしょうか。
電子ノイズの発生で、ショウの中断を余儀なくされ、完奏できなかった為に急遽代演された「Atom Heart Mother」も含め、聴きどころ満載の｢狂気初演｣ショウのニューミックス・ヴァージョン。
特に2音源をセンス良くミックスさせたパート(Atom Heart Mother ､ユージンの曲間など)は、見事であり、全てのファン必聴のニューテイクと断言致します。』
