To leave now Thirty years ago I realized it and my last visit to Japan was “A MOMENTARY LAPSE OF REASON TOUR 1988”. The legendary name recording which vacuum packed the site is brushed up and it is permanent conservation decision.
The scene of the legendary recording is “March 4, 5, 6, 1988: National Yoyogi Stadium” performance. This work is a super-superb audience recording set for that 3 days. Yes, it is an enlarged · complete version of that miracle masterpiece “SIGNS OF LIVES”. First of all, let’s check the composition on the tour schedule of the time.

· March 2: Nippon Budokan
· March 3rd: Nippon Budokan
· March 4: National Yoyogi Stadium 【Disc 1-2】
· March 5: National Yoyogi Stadium 【Disc 3-4】
· March 6: National Yoyogi Stadium 【Disc 5-6】
· March 8: Osakajo Hall
· March 9: Osakajo Hall
· March 11: Nagoya Rainbow Hall

In this way, the National Yoyogi Stadium will perform for 3 consecutive days. This work is a complete collection of the whole story.
In order to introduce this work, you must first tell “SIGNS OF LIVES”. This masterpiece that appeared in 2010 year was a real shock. Eric Clapton, Jeff Beck, Mick Jagger, Stones and so on, from the master cassette by a name recorder who left a number of historical recordings, it was made into a CD directly, but its sound was abnormal. Although it was only the first time since arriving in Japan for 16 years, various recordings appeared, but ridiculous quality to wipe out these preexisting groups. Boasting a clearness and an on feel suitable for calling as “sound board”, the sound recording world that the aesthetics and elegance drift even in different dimension from the line recording in which the core is naked. In the tremendous sound, maniacs all over the world passed out, and it became a turbulence that “Is it really a recording of the 80’s?” “What microphone was used? I will also buy it.” The magnitude of the shock shows the comment of the specialty magazine at that time clearly. Let’s quote some.

“This sound quality is no longer as good as” wonder “. This is probably the result of all the equipment, cassettes, and recording positions acting organically, not to mention the skill of the taper. If you listen to the intro of the opening Shine On, you will notice the overwhelming difference not only from the existing source, but also from all the audience recordings recorded during this time. I can not find an appropriate word to describe ”

In this way, it caused the excitement that exhausted the rhetorical praise to be arranged. But this masterpiece was only the first day and the second day of the 3 days. Although it was recorded on the same day on the third day, it was converted to a different title titled “SIGNS OF EVERLIFE”. It was also the third day of a show with almost the same content, and it was made public on CDR. This work is a perfect version of the 3 performances permanently stored press CD. In “SIGNS OF LIVES” “SIGNS OF EVERLIFE”, since the first and second parts of the show were divided into discs, 1 show = 3 pieces, which was not possible for one set. However, from that time, there were many voices saying “Because the third piece is only 17 minutes of encore, I do not listen much.” Therefore, in this work, we reconstructed 1 show = 2 pieces each and recorded 3 days in complete 6 sheets.
Of course, it is not just re-appearance. Digitize again from the original cassette, brush up with the latest and meticulous mastering. It is even clearer and realizes a more dynamic sound. The power is also increasing, but of course we do not make sound pressureless sound pressure. The mastering concept is “on site recreation”. If you pluck up the peak of the musical tone, it is easy to push hard, but instead use the beauty of the sounding of the original sound to the fullest. Pay close attention to prevent distortion, organize each range. It realized both a sharp core and a sense of hall and a wide spectacle.
It is FLOYD that is drawn with that sound so it’s a sense of acoustics. I will tell you just to be sure, but I never made the echo thick. Rather, performance sounds and singing voices once said “How did you record in that wide space?” Are more vivid. On top of that, it is not possible to record a line, because it is an audience recording, even the gloss of the space that could have been left boasts the beauty that transpires. I recreated the sensation that stands at the actual site that existed thirty years ago.

Yoyogi Olympic pool 3 days which became the core in the Japan tour. The site became a single crystal. The truth of the miracle recording tape itself is in “SIGNS OF LIVES” “SIGNS OF EVERLIFE”, its value still does not shake. However, this work only shines when the emphasis is placed on “the site” rather than “the value of the recorded matter”. It is a miracle recording, and it is a 6-disc set of a noble who reproduced the 1988 vibe which it was able to leave as it was at that time as it was. Complete version of that three days. Please enjoy “Last FLOYD in JAPAN”.
