Speaking of the 1977 American tour, Speaking of Cleveland in April, everyone remembered the eternal standard “DESTROYER”, a performance on the 27th. From the LP era to the present, the sound board recording that turned into an unchallenged classic sound source, the best version of the honorable “1st Gen Reels” from our shop was released was a memorable new place. In the same way as the staple from the LP era, the 28th performance is also famous. This is sufficient quality sound quality while recording audiences, the next day of that classic sound source, and because of the performance in the same place, the name of “DESTROYER II” has been crowned and it has reached the present.
If 27 is a massive, if it is a famous sound source which sees the feeling of 77 years base grooves of refreshing, it can be said that the next day, it seems that it captured the appearance of ZEP which can be played nice for the first time after the tour started. During the year of the 77 · America tour, a daily show was unfolded with a composition that long-duration performance was confirmed every day more than before. In terms of April, in addition to the time when ZEP, who had been away from the live tour for the last time in 75 years, resumed the tour, as the previous long-term composition was introduced from the early stage, not a few “oddless surprise” I could tell the atmosphere.
For example, in Chicago which became the first continuous tour of the tour, the next day was held at a shortened show as a result of having to give the venue to the local hockey team, on 7th, but the show was aborted this time due to poor physical condition of Paige Ninth day and so on, smooth progressing can not be said to flattery. Probably, it is speculated that the tour came from Minneapolis on the 12th and the St. Louis on 15th when the sound source was still unearthed. When April passes 20 days, ZEP got on the wave and it was clearly heard from the Atlanta performance “HOW MANY MORE YEARS GONE WITH THE WIND” (TCOLZ) on 23rd which our shop released in the past.
In the case of
When it became Cleveland on the 27th, what seemed to be the 77 year tourism was established, and on the 28th this time it will be released ZEP has finally made a move. Even if it was not a sound board that was good at clearing like the previous day, it is wonderful that the performance of this day started to be fully charged from the beginning momentarily! First of all, “Nobody’s Fault But Mine” will reach ZEP at the first vertex. Among them, plenty of shouts that plants listen to are spectacular. In addition, it is the sharpness of “Since I’ve Been Loving You” where Paige is the main character this time. Among the 77 year tour, it will inform you that Paige of this day is “playing” in particular. It seems to be 77 years that Bonzo that supports it will bite the exploding hitting drum in between.
As you can see from this, Bonzo is a natural explosion drumming that is different from LA’s fleeting feeling, and the plant is in good spirits above all else. Singing out among his songs his favorite Presley number “Surrender” whether it feels much better or not, it will show up to the pleasant scene that Bonzo will match it. Very wonderful performances continued even in the first half so far, but in “No Quarter” Johnsy played “Nutrocker” and the bands and the venue heat up as well. Again Bonzo drums have exploded everywhere, but the point is not that they flew by as much as the time of LA, yet that they are exerting their presence.

In “Ten Years Gone” telling the middle stage of the show, you hear the sound of the sub-guitar played by Johnsy very well. Even compared to the SBD of the previous day, it is extruded more clearly to the front. Johnny ‘s triple neck which became a famous later in April was not introduced, and instead played the 12 – string eleacor of the ovation (the day before playing it remains in the photograph). To amplify from the PA system, what was easier than the triple-neck introduced from the leg of May is obvious by listening to the 12-string sound that sounded at this venue.
Plants are happy again at the acoustic set where the song part is the main. In front of “Black Country Woman”, I hint at “Dancing Days” who professed himself as a favorite number, and also told Paige a little. Although the audience got excited a lot even by that alone, this is to be played in a more decent style will have to wait until Randover one month later.
The latter part of the live performance is also wonderful, Bonzo is still clear as usual. A way of making excitement at “Rock And Roll” is a word of casualties. Again, I am likable for drumming that does not go too far although he’s gaudy. And it is interesting that Encore’s “Trampled Underfoot” starts with a slightly slow atmosphere, I think that if you compare it with the same song of the previous day, it will be even more enjoyable. The natural momentum throughout is different from the June LA in that runaway, another charm is shining everywhere.
In the case of
There are problems with the sound source itself, and cuts are frequently seen. Among them, “No Quarter” and “Stairway To Heaven” cuts can be said to be fatal. Also there were items such as ‘Nobody’s Fault But Mine’ covering intro cuts in Copy editing. Mania people will remember nostalgia.
Nonetheless, in addition to content that can be called masterpieces without complaint, as an audience recording in April 1977, it has been released many times since it boasts the quality to the best class while being monaural sound quality. However, most of the items left a problem of pitch lag, and it was in a state of subtle fluctuation, so it was being held up all the more.
Another problem was the freshness of the tape. Even though we entered the era of CD, items were originally based on sound generators that were genetically disappearing, but this time it is a limited press CD from first-generation copy with pedigree. Combined with the exactly adjusted pitch, I realized clearness and ease of listening that will kick off many items released in the past. Following the previous day’s “1st Gen Reels” sound board based on the Raw Generation sound source as well, we will deliver a definitive version of the prestigious work produced by America / Tour April 77.

さらに今度はペイジが主人公となる「Since I’ve Been Loving You」の切れ味。
