ここ数年、全米を中心に行われている恒例のアコースティック・ソロ・ツアー。今年はNorth America Winter-Spring 2014 Tourとして、2月から4月にかけて22回のコンサートを行いました。(ツアー序盤の2月21日には「Progressive Nation At Sea 2014″ Cruise」に参加しライヴを行っています。）ポスター等の広告媒体には “An acoustic evening with Jon Anderson, original singer/songwriter of Yes”の、お馴染みのキャッチコピーがフィーチャーされています。本盤はその最終章にあたるもので、4月22日、ロードアイランド州ウーンソケットはスタジアム・シアターでのライヴを約2時間に渡って、極上レベルの高音質オーディエンス録音で完全収録したものです。例によって、アットホームな雰囲気の中、ジョンの陽気なムードのＭＣを曲間・曲中で挟みながら、ショウが展開しています。声を聞く限り、ジョンは元気そのもので、体調は非常によさそうです。選曲は、ここ数年のツアーでお馴染みとなった曲ばかりで、ショウの構成も同じです。3曲目にはイエスもライヴでカバーしているAmerica、5曲目にはボブ・マーリーのカバーでOne Loveが演奏されています。7曲目には、ちょうど2か月前にGold SACDがリリースされた「Olias of Sunhillow」から Flight Of The Moorglade が演奏されます。ジョン＆ヴァンゲリスのI’ll Find My Way Home に続いてはPlease To RememberをイントロにStarship Trooperが演奏されます。以降は後半にかけてイエス・クラシックをメインに素晴らしいショウが展開していきます。現イエスのボーカリスト、ジョン・デヴィソンもアンダーソンに似た声質ゆえ、イエス・クラシックの演奏でも全く違和感を感じさせませんが、このジョン・アンダーソンのソロライヴを聴けば、「やはりイエスのナンバーを歌えるのは彼だけ」と確信すること間違いありません。熱心なファンが集結しているようで、合唱から手拍子と、雰囲気抜群のレスポンスと観客サイドのリアクションも言うことなしですが、それも含め、ジョンのステージをベストなサウンドバランスで録りきったテーパーの力量に思わず感服してしまう程の、それは素晴らしい録音です。澄み切ったジョンの伸びやかな歌声、安定したギタープレイ、そして観客の温かなリアクション。それら全てが最良のサウンド、そしてバランスで録音されており、ファンは誰しもが感動の思いで聴き入ってしまうこと、間違いありません。ＭＣも聴き取りやすく、英語が苦手の人でも、何となく何を言っているのか分かる程、クリアーに、聴きやすく録音されています。イエス＆ジョンのファンは絶対必聴の高品質タイトルです。
