そのサウンドたるや、空前絶後の素晴らしさ。楽音の輪郭の鮮やかさでは本編プレスCDに半歩譲りますが、高音・低音のバランスの良さではむしろ勝っているほどです。それもそのはず、本作は以前「WILD THING（Wardour-029）」として大好評を博した名作マスターなのです。この「６月10日・武道館」は、「FLASH TOUR 1986」でも非常に録音の多い日として知られていますが、その中でも「WILD THING」のサウンドは決定的。リリースと同時に、あまりの高音質ぶりで既発を一掃してしまったほどです。そんな「WILD THING」も、大好評の末に現在は廃盤となっておりますが、今回は、そのオリジナル・カセットから再度デジタル化し、最新マスタリングで丁寧に仕上げたのです。
「1986年の武道館」と言うと、現在では武道館２DAYSを同一テーパーが記録した大代表作「THANK THE LORD（Wardour-082）」が君臨しています。そのため、１公演分の本作の再プレスは難しい状況ですが、サウンド・クオリティでは、かの大傑作にも一切負けない名録音なのです。実際、オープニングを飾る「Escape」から艶やかなサウンドが見事。最初にサイモン・フィリップス、ダグ・ウィンビッシュ、ヤン・ハマーだけが演奏し、ギターパートと共に御大ジェフが登場！　このドラマティックな演出が昨日録られたかのような新鮮なサウンドで蘇ってくるのです。
その後もアナログ特有の生々しさと力強さを併せ持つサウンドが、パワフルな演奏をより際立たせ、ジェフのギターは勿論、サイモンのドラムの一打一打、ヤンの存在感溢れるキーボード・プレイ、そしてジミー・ホールのヴォーカルに至るまで、総ての演奏が最良バランスでクリアーに録音されている。特にコンサート後半は、とんでもなく凄まじい音のダイナミズムに圧倒されます。

その他にも、大阪とは大幅に変わった曲順や「Led Boots」、何よりもわずか数回といえども場数をこなして少しずつこなれてきたアンサンブルも大阪とはかなり印象が違います。長らくツアーの最高傑作録音とさえ言われてきた本作。“大阪初日”に対する“東京初日”というだけでなく、“ツアー初期”に対する“ツアー後期”、“新たなる傑作”に対する“伝統の傑作”でもあるのです。あらゆる意味で互いを補完し合う大阪と東京の傑作録音カップリング。ぜひ、併せてお楽しみください！
