最初に登場するのは、日本人気を確立させた名曲のリミックス・バージョン。この曲のスタジオ・テイクは４種（1983年のシングル、オリジナルLP、CD、1985年の再録）存在しますが、その中でも最も貴重なのは“1983年のシングル・バージョン”。本作ではベスト・クオリティで収録しています。LPバージョンに比べて全体的にタイトなミックスですが、それ以上にギターソロが編集されていたり、ラストにイントロ同様の風の音が追加される等、名曲に新たな風味が加わっています。

【LYIN’ EYES [1983 Withdrawn Single Version]】
本作のタイトルにもなった最大の目玉テイク！　1983年暮れにリリースされた幻のシングルから収録された１テイクで、正規アルバム・バージョンとはヴォーカル・テイクが違うバージョンです。
このシングルは、EUROPEコレクション随一の超・激レア。『WINGS OF TOMORROW』の先行シングルとしてリリースされたましたが、即回収。トータルで1000枚プレスされたものの、回収騒ぎによって世の中に出回ったのは100枚ほど。初めて海外ネット・オークションに出品された際には、約15万円もの超プレミアが付いたほどの“EUROPEコレクションの聖杯”なのです。ただ聴けるだけでも激レア体験なのですが、本作では奇跡のミント・クオリティ盤。ノン・リマスタリングにも関わらず、一切のスクラッチ・ノイズがない完璧な状態で収録しています。

【OPEN YOUR HEART [1984 Single Remix Version]】
こちらも『WINGS OF TOMORROW』時代のお宝。1984年にシングル用にリミックスされた長尺バージョン。キーボード等が足され、アルバム・バージョンよりフェード・アウトが遅く20秒以上も長く収録されています。

【映画『ON THE LOOSE』の1985年シングル（４曲）】
『THE FINAL COUNTDOWN』直前の1985年にリリースされたシングル・テイク。「Rock The Night」「On The Loose」「Broken Dreams」の３曲は、映画『ON THE LOOSE』のサントラとしてリリースされた７インチ・シングルのみのレア・テイク。「Rock The Night」「On The Loose」は『THE FINAL COUNTDOWN』の再録版とは異なるオリジナル・バージョンですし、「Broken Dreams」はアルバム未収録となった隠れた名バラードです。
さらに、７インチは上記の３曲ですが、12インチでは「Rock The Night」の別ミックス版（約１分半も長い）でした。本作はその全４テイクを収録しています。

【THE FINAL COUNTDOWN [Mix 40 Principales]】

中身も凄い。BON JOVIの「Runaway」にも同様のリミックスがありましたが、プレイヤーが壊れたかと思うほど豪快に換骨奪胎しつつ、公式ならではの精密な仕上がり。とにかく本作でしか聴けない衝撃の１テイクです。

【PRISONERS IN PARADISE時代のレア・テイク（３曲）】
通称“LE BARON BOYSセッション”から２曲とアコースティック・ライヴ１曲。“LE BARON BOYS”は、レコード会社から「ヘヴィすぎる」と没を食らったセッションで、本作では公式リリースされながら入手困難となっている２曲「Rainbow Warrior」「Blame It On Me」を収録しています。
アコースティック・ライヴは「Open Your Heart」で、イギリス盤CDシングルのみのレア・テイク。1992年１月20日のBBC番組“NICKY CAMPBELL SHOW”で収録されたものです。

LYIN ‘EYES AND OTHER RARITIES “a super rare tracks decision board collected from all official items such as limited board, promo board and so on, which were collected immediately. First of all, the main version is “OUT OF THIS WORLD” an instrument version of all songs. What’s interesting is that this is not just a singing karaoke track. It is a separate mix from the album, and it is gathered up on a short scale of about one and a half minutes each song.
For example, I think that I have heard that you heard HR / HM name phrase flowing from the casual TV program. That delicious riff, the coming phrase is condensed and recorded. そんな本作は、レアなEPIC制作の２枚組プロモLP『OUT OF THIS WORLD: WORLD PREMIERE WEEKEND（A2S 1230）』をCD化したもの。その中身は非常に面白い。まず、メインとなるのは『OUT OF THIS WORLD』全曲のインスト・バージョン。面白いのは、これが単なる歌抜きのカラオケ・トラックではないところ。アルバムとは別ミックスで、各曲１分半ほどの短い尺にまとめられているのです。
例えば、何気なくて見ているテレビ番組からHR/HMの名フレーズがふっと流れるのを聴いた経験があると思います。あの感じで美味しいリフ、グッと来るフレーズが凝縮収録されているのです。実際にどのように使われたのかまでは分かりませんが、ダラダラと長いカラオケとは違って『OUT OF THIS WORLD』の名フレーズがオモチャ箱のように飛び出してくるトラックなのです。LP現物には公式アルバムと同じテイクも含まれていましたが、本作ではレア・シーンのみを厳選収録しました。
そんなインスト編の後は、３トラックを収録。まず「Europe Yesterday Collage」は、『OUT OF THIS WORLD』に至るまでの名曲をコラージュしたもの。こちらは歌入りで、なかなかの傑作編集。EUROPEの歴史を約５分間に集約しており、何度も繰り返し聴いても飽きない完成度の高い仕上がりになっている。番組のイントロに使われたのか、ムードたっぷりな番組コールも収録されています。
「Promos & Intros」も番組名をコールするもの。番組のナレーターだけでなく、５人のメンバーがそれぞれコールする。恐らく、他の番組で番宣する際に使われたのでしょう。最後の「Interview Clips with Europe」は、タイトル通りのインタビュー。約１時間にわたり、これまでの歩みや『OUT OF THIS WORLD』について語られます（イングヴェイ・マルムスティーンの名前も出てきます）。

こうした番組が組まれること自体、いかに『OUT OF THIS WORLD』のリリースが事件だったのかが分かる。本作はそんな時代の空気が超リアルに流れ出る１枚なのです。音楽作品と言うよりは、非常にプロモーション色の強いレア・トラックなので永久保存プレスCDには不向きでしたが、だからこそ時代感が猛烈な傑作でもある。ぜひ、光り輝く秘宝集『LYIN’ EYES AND OTHER RARITIES』と併せてお楽しみ頂きたいオフィシャル制作の銘品です。
