今週のエリック・クラプトンのリリース関連に最適のギフトアイテムをご用意しました！本盤は、2009年にクラプトンがスティーヴ・ウィンウッドとのジョイントで行なった北米ツアーから、最終日となった6月30日のロサンゼルス、ハリウッドボウル公演の非常に良好なステレオ・オーディエンス音源を完全収録しています。ネット上のアップロード・マスターを使用していますが、ほとんど手を加える必要のないほど、クリアでサウンドバランスの良いもので、音質面ではまったく問題ありません。この北米ツアーからは、当時CDRでほぼ全日程におけるタイトルがリリースされましたが、意外にもこの最終日だけは音源がネットにアップされたのがかなり遅かったため、CD化されていませんでした。実質上の「ブラインド・フェイス」の再結成と言ってもよかったこの二人のジョイントツアーにおける最終日であり、しかも会場がビートルズでも有名な半ドーム型の野外ホール、HOLLYWOOD BOWLということで、聴く価値のある内容となっています。既に述べましたが、音質が抜群で、このツアーに参加したドラマー、エイブ・ラボリアル・ジュニアのボトムの利いたプレイが鮮明に捉えられています。オープニングナンバーの0:09時点に音揺れがあったり、この曲中でボリュームの変化があったり、Split Decisionの頭が僅かながらかけていたりという欠点はありますが、これは元のマスターからのものですのでご了承いただきたい部分です。しかし、煩わしいオーディエンスノイズなどはほとんどなく、半ドーム型の野外会場ということを考えると、独特の解放感もある、かなりの高音質となっています。最終日だけに、二人のプレイクオリティは非常に高く、特にクラプトンは凄まじいVoodoo Chileのみならず、全編で弾き捲っています。やはり最後だけに、気合が入っていたことが感じ取れるものです。翌々年のジャパンツアーでは一切曲間でMCをしなかったウィンウッドが、珍しくLAのオーディエンスに謝辞を述べるシーンもあるほか、ジャパンツアーではセット落ちしてしまったForever ManやウィンウッドのソロナンバーThere’s A Riverが演奏されているのが魅力です。また、中盤のアコースティックパートではウィンウッドのピアノ弾き語りナンバーとして、トラフィックのLow Spark Of High Heeled Boys がプレイされているのにも注目です（この曲の前に彼のMCがありました）。クラプトン＆ウィンウッドのツアーでは、ドラマーが毎回替わりましたが、エイブを擁したこのツアーは、歴代でも最もこの趣向のステージに合っていたのではないかと思えます。恐らく二度と実現することはないだろうと思われるクラプトン＆ウィンウッドのツアー最終日の好音源。今週、是非2タイトル以上をオーダーいただき、このギフトアイテムもゲットしていただきますようお願いします。
