今回のエリック・クラプトンのジャパンツアーにつきましては、当店は全公演とも極上のオリジナルマスターから惜しげもなく決定版的タイトルをスピーディーにリリースしてまいります。どうぞご期待ください。さてその言葉どおり、先週の初日タイトルに続きまして、今週は2日目、3日目、最終日の武道館公演を一挙プレスCDでリリース致します！いずれのタイトルも初日のプレスタイトル「Budokan 2016 1st Night」をも上回るまさに極上・究極のステレオ・オーディエンス録音で完全収録した驚愕のマスターから製作されたものです。使用しましたマスターは、当店が信頼する重鎮テーパーによる録音で、そのクオリティはお済み付きです。まず2日目公演を収めた本盤の録音席は、B１ブロック通路寄りという好ポジションでした。アリーナ中央エリアでハイエンド機材を導入して録音されたこのマスターは、とにかく楽音が近い！大迫力、そして驚くべきクリアネスです！この2日目公演は、初日音源とともに当店が先々週のギフトアイテムに逸早く登場させました。そのマスターも当店のオリジナルで、非常にきれいなサウンドで収録されたものでしたが、本盤のマスターはやはりそれとは一線を画すクオリティを備えたものとしてプレスCDでこその価値を有するものでした。保存盤として是非本盤をコレクションに加えていただければと思います。今回のエリック・クラプトンのジャパンツアー全5公演では、セットリストは不変でした。前回2014年の来日時には、オープニングからはクラプトン一人のソロがフィーチャーされるPretending、Tell The Truthといったナンバーが組まれていましたが、今回はバンドメンバー全員にソロを回すナンバーが中心に据えられていました。オープニングのSomebody’s Knockin’から続く3曲では新加入のダーク・パウエルを含み、全員のソロがフィーチャーされました。クラプトン一人のソロをフィーチャーしたナンバーは、前回にも演奏したI Shot The Sheriff、Wonderful Tonightの2曲に抑えられ、その分、ダーク・パウエルとアンディ・フェアウェザー・ロウのフィーチャリング・ナンバーが増やされていました。これを見ますと、クラプトンは今回のツアーでは、気心の知れたイギリス人ミュージシャンとアメリカ人マルチプレイヤー、ダーク・パウエルらとバンド総体としてのプレイを楽しみたい、そしてニューアルバムをサポートしてくれた新加入のパウエルをしっかり引き立てたいと考えていたように思えます。クラプトンらしい心遣いと言えるでしょう。そして何よりも日本のファンに向けて、シッティングセットでニューアルバムからの新曲を披露することが最大の目的であったようです。クラプトン自身のソロもかつてのようなシャープでスリリングな高速ソロをかましてハイテンションで突っ走るといったものからは様相を変え、楽曲の流れを重んじた、滑らかでツボを押さえたフレージングに変貌していました。これが、71歳を越えたブルース・アーティスト、エリック・クラプトンが今打ち出したかったステージだったわけです。となれば、初披露された新曲の出来と各日でクラプトンとバンドメンバーがどのようにアドリブで滑らかなソロをプレイし合ったかという点にポイントを絞って聴いていただく楽しみがあります。本盤に収められた2日目公演では、クラプトンのプレイは特にSomebody’s Knockin’の終盤、I Shot The Sheriffの後奏、CrossroadsとLittle Queen Of Spadesで彼ならではの巧さが光るプレイを聴くことができます。そのあたりを最高峰のオーディエンス録音を実現した本盤でお確かめいただければと思います。3日目タイトル、最終日タイトルとともに初回のみの限定プレス盤となっておりますので、お早めのオーダーをお願い致します。
