エリック・クラプトンの1975年ジャパンツアーから、6日目となった11月1日武道館公演のニュー・オーディエンスマスターが40年の時を超えて発掘されました！正真正銘、今までまったくリリースされていない完全オリジナルマスターです。しかしただ新発掘というだけなら当店がプレスCDでリリースすることはありません。音質がそれに値するものだったからなのです。この日の音源と言えば、過去に複数のマスターが世に出ています。クラプトンのデータ本「ライブ・ファイル1」での評価では、ステレオ録音の4CDタイトルがベストとされ、次いでモノラル録音の6CDタイトルとなっていますが、本盤はモノラル録音ながら、こもり気味の音質だった6CDタイトルをはるかに超えるクリアな音質となっています。さらには、臨場感はあるもののオーディエンスノイズが多めでなかなか鑑賞に集中し辛かった4CDに肩を並べる音場の広さを持ち、オーディエンスノイズの少なさから非常に聴きやすくなっています。特にジェイミー・オールデイカーのドラムとセルジオ・ロドリゲスのパーカッションのサウンドがくっきり捉えられているため、リズムの切れが味わえます。そしてクラプトンのギターの音がセカンドギターのジョージ・テリーのそれよりも際立っていますので、クラプトンのプレイの詳細が把握できます。リスナーのお好みにもよりますが、本盤を聴かれれば、この日のベストとして推していただけるのではないでしょうか。但し、このマスターではCan’t Find My Way Homeの終演後とFurther On Up The Roadの曲前との曲間と、Further On Up The Roadの序盤に欠落部分がありましたので、既発マスターを当店エンジニアがマスタリングして音質を極力近づけ、ちょっと聴いただけでは分からないくらいのレベルの補填を行ないました。この違和感のない補填のナチュラルさによって本盤は欠点のない完全収録盤となりました。「ライブ・ファイル1」でもレビューされていましたとおり、この日のクラプトンはゆったりとレイドバックしたステージの中にも切れのあるフレーズを畳みかけ、クオリティの高いパフォーマンスを展開しています。ツアー前半の関西公演とはソングオーダーを変更し、アンコールのパターンをガラリと変えてきました。本公演のアンコールでは、Eyesight To The BlindからWhy Does Love Got To Be So Sadの後半部へのメドレーという珍しいパターンを披露しています。セット中に4曲も組まれたブルースナンバーでのシャープかつバラエティに富んだフレーズが、ブルースのおける彼の引き出しの多さを物語っていると言えるでしょう。Further On Up The Roadではあまりに冴えたギタープレイゆえにイントロが引き延ばされ、なかなか歌に入りません。こうしたテイクも「生もの」であるクラプトンならではの魅力でしょう。40年ぶりに発掘されたニューマスター。しかもこの日のベストの呼び声高いクオリティを備えています。この機会に是非本盤へのオーダーをよろしくお願いします。初回のみの限定プレス盤となりますので、お早めのおオーダーをお待ちしております。
