またまたエリック・クラプトンの最新ヨーロッパツアーからの決定版がプレスCDで登場です！本盤はツアー最終日となった6月28日のポーランドの「ライフ・フェスティバル」に出演した際の極上ステレオ・オーディエンスソースを収録しています。もちろん一切トラブルのない完全収録です。今回のクラプトンはフェスティバルを中心にツアーしましたので、野外会場での昼間の公演が多かった中、本盤も拡散する楽音をものともせず、バンドの音をストレートに近距離で捉えています。先日当店がリリースしました「MANNHEIM 2014」に優るとも劣らない現代最高峰のオーディエンス録音と断言できる素晴らしいクオリティです。ネットマスターを使用していますが、元音源ではシーンによって音質・音像が変わっているという、ある意味やっかいな音源でした。しかしそこは定評ある当店のエンジニアにより、全編に渡り的確なマスタリングを施し、元マスターからは飛躍的なグレードアップを図っています。マスタリングのポイントは、音像・音質の異なる前半/中盤のアコースティックセット/後半に分けて、それぞれに見合った適切な音調整を行ないました。ネットからダウンロードされたマニアの方が聴き比べられると、1曲目のサウンドからその違いをお判りいただけることでしょう。クリアさ、音圧がまったく異なり、このオンなサウンドに驚かれることと思います。ダウンロードファイルで満足されている方にこそ聴いていただきたい、プレスCDでこそリリースする価値のあるクオリティに変貌しています。この日は「MANNHEIM 2014」とセットリストは同じながら、アドリブでしかソロを弾かないクラプトンだけに、また「MANNHEIM 2014」とは違ったプレイが楽しめます。さらにツアー最終日ということで聴く意味のある公演ですが、実はもっと大きな意味を持つ公演でもありました。この前日に亡くなった、クラプトンと89年のWanna Make Love To Youセッションで親交のあったソウル界の重鎮ギタリスト＆シンガー、ボビー・ウォーマックをトリビュートするステージだ、とクラプトンが冒頭でアナウンスしているという思い出深い公演です。クラプトンとウォーマックが知り合ったのは、遡ればまだクラプトンがクリーム時代、67年12月16、17日に実現したアトランティック・スタジオでのアレサ・フランクリンのアルバム「LADY SOUL」のセッションでした。このセッション中、Good to Me as I Am to Youではプロデューサーのトム・ダウドの計らいにより、ウォーマックを差し置いてクラプトンがソロをとったというものでしたが、ウォーマックはこの時のクラプトンのスキルとスピリットを印象に残していて、89年の自身のアルバムセッションにクラプトンを招いたような気がします。クラプトンの方もそのウォーマックとの思い出があるので、この日のステージを彼に捧げると発言したのでしょう。それだけにクラプトンの気合が入っていたことは間違いなく、つい最近、持病として「腱鞘炎」を患っていることを告白した彼が何とか気持ちを込めて、ミストーンを出さぬよう手首の痛みに堪えてプレイしているかのような熱のこもったパフォーマンスを聴くことができます。最終公演に懸けたクラプトンの熱き思いを是非、最高音質を実現した本盤でご堪能ください。限定プレスCDでのリリースとなりますので、どうぞお早めのオーダーをお願い致します。
