Eric Clapton “Final chapter” rumors It is the main board that packed the second half 2DAYS of LA performance flowing in press 4CD. Like “Volume 1” which recorded the first two performances of the simultaneous release, Clapton’s comprehensive performance performance is well contained in the main board. Although I also mentioned in the review of “Volume 1”, the master of this board is a high quality stereo and audience sauce that was uploaded on the net, and all that was up were the same person. It was a good master who recorded using the senior high performance Mike & Sony M – 10 recorder called Schoeps MK 4 in nearly the same good position as the 4 performances, but it was a strange sound image due to unnatural sound processing by the person who uploaded . Like “Volume 1”, our shop independently improved this drawback. We were able to deliver it as the best upgrade version. Not only for maniacs but also for fans, I would like to draw attention to the main board which is much easier to hear than the net as it is. I posted it in the review of “Volume 1”, but let’s see what kind of position this performance was in the activities of this year’s Clapton (we also add the released title of our shop).

You can see that this LA performance was the last journey of a special concert performed in New York, London, Los Angeles, only at three locations worldwide. The first day in “Volume 1” and the second day performances were performances of clear skill to listen to each. This third day, and also the final performance, this is a wonderful play called Clapton. The solo at the opening Somebody Knocking on the third day is rolling as quickly as possible. After all, I Shot The Sheriff of this day was also wonderful. As a total, this time, including the newly set white room, it was a performance that was suitable for a comprehensive performance summarizing his career entitled “A Celebration Of 50 Years Of Music”. Clapton’s consciousness may have had the thought of “this is the last”. So I would like to mention the number of songs that solo to keyboard members among the songs that I set in. エリック・クラプトン「最終章」の噂流れるLA公演の後半2DAYSをプレス4CDにパックしたのが本盤です。同時リリースの前半2公演を収録した「Volume 1」と同様、本盤にもクラプトンの集大成パフォーマンスががっちり収められています。「Volume 1」のレビューでも述べましたが、本盤のマスターはネット上にアップされた良質なステレオ・オーディエンスソースで、アップしたのは、すべて同じ人物。Schoeps MK4という上級高性能マイク＆ソニーM-10レコーダーを使用し、4公演ともほぼ同じ好ポジションで録音した良質なマスターでしたが、アップした人物による不自然な音加工ゆえに違和感のある音像でした。「Volume 1」同様、この欠点を当店が独自に改善。最良のグレードアップ・バージョンとしてお届けできることになりました。マニアのみならず、ファンの方々も、ネットそのままよりも格段に聴きやすい本盤にご注目いただきたいと思います。「Volume 1」のレビューでも掲載しましたが、今年のクラプトンの活動の中でこの公演がどういう位置づけになっていたかを見てみましょう（当店のリリース済みタイトルも付記します）。

このLA公演は、ニューヨーク、ロンドン、ロサンゼルス、世界3ヶ所だけで実施した特別なコンサートの最終行程だったことがお判りいただけるでしょう。「Volume 1」に収められた初日、2日目公演は、それぞれ聴きどころが明確な磐石のパフォーマンスでした。この3日目、そして最終公演もこれぞ、クラプトンという素晴らしいプレイが披露されています。この3日目のオープニングSomebody Knockingでのソロは早くもキレ捲り。いきなりこんなスロットル全開でいいのか？心配になりつつも、以降もタイトなパフォーマンスが展開されていきます。この日の I Shot The Sheriffのフレーズ構成にも素晴らしいものがありますが、この日の白眉はLittle Queen Of Spadesでのソロでした。この終盤の長尺のスローブルースになると、手堅いプレイながらも特に「爆発」することがないのが常となっていましたが、この日は違います。このプレイも是非聴いていただきたいものです。最終日は驚きで始まりました。何とSomebody Knockingのソロをワウペダルを踏んでプレイしたのです。これまでクラプトンはこの曲でのワウプレイをしたことがありませんでした。2013年からプレイし続けているこのJ.J.ケイルの未発表曲では初めてのことです。最終日にあたり、クラプトンの心境に何らかの変化が生じたのでしょう。ワウを踏みながらのソロで、さらにクラプトンらしい趣きが出ています。そしてやはりこの日の I Shot The Sheriffも素晴らしいものでした。トータルとしては、今回、新たにセットに組まれたWhite Roomを含め、「A Celebration Of 50 Years Of Music」と題された、彼のキャリアを総括する集大成的公演に相応しい内容の公演でした。クラプトンの意識には、「これで最後」の思いがあったかもしれません。そこで申し上げておきたいのが、セットインした楽曲の中で、キーボードメンバーにソロを振る曲数のことです。その数は、Somebody Knocking、Key To The Highway、Hoochie Coochie Man、Driftin’ Blues、Crossroads、Little Queen Of Spades、Cocaineと全15曲中、約半数の7曲にも及びます。これは単に構成上サポート・ミュージシャンもフィーチャーしてやろうという思いだけではないのではないでしょうか。クラプトンとは79年以来38年間ずっとやってきているクリス・スティントン、J.J.ケイルのサポートを務めてきたウォルト・リッチモンド、彼らもクラプトンと同年代の老齢ミュージシャンです（ドラムのS.ガッドもそうです）。今、多くの老齢ミュージシャンが相次ぎ亡くなっている中、彼らもいつ何時、病に倒れるかもしれません。クラプトンとすれば、自分の50年以上に渡るキャリアはこうした仲間に支えられてきたからこそ叶ったものだと認識しているはずです。だから彼らにもスポットを当てたいと考えての、このフィーチャー曲数ではないでしょうか。「Cocaine」を締めるスティントンのロング・ピアノソロ、ラストに音階を上がっていくスリリングなあのプレイをにこやかに見詰めるクラプトン。そしてアイコンタクトを交わしてのエンディング・コール。コンサートを観たことのある方ならこの場面をご存知でしょう。クラプトンは仲間と共にキャリアを歩んで来ました。そして彼は今、その歩みを止めようとしています。「その前に思う存分弾いてくれ、僕もそうする。」そんなクラプトンの気持ちが現われているステージだと思えてなりません。本当にこれが最後になるかどうかはご本人のみぞ知る、ですが、後になって「ああ、やっぱりあれが節目だったんだね。」と気づき、後悔されないよう、どうぞ本盤でクラプトンと仲間たちの姿を永久保存しておいてください。「Volume 1」同様、シリアルナンバー入りステッカー付初回プレス盤は限定リリースとなっておりますので、どうぞお早めのオーダーをお願い致します。
